Warning: mentions of suicide trauma, sex foreplay, creepy stalker, and birth. But not too deep in detail.
Another two months had gone by and Lorraine's stomach had grown twice it's size. She needed to see a doctor for an ultrasound. But she was nervous. She kept counting all the possibilities that could go wrong. But with Sans now living with her, to help her with chores and her needs, she calmed down. He definitely was her rock. So she decided to ask.
"Hey Sans?"
“yes my little star~?” He teased, lightly, having already sensed her nervousness.
"I was thinking… since we don't know how many we're going to have, that we get an ultrasound by a doctor."
He tilted his head. “huh… sure, it’d be nice to be prepared.” He agreed immediately.
"Do you think we should see Alphys or my doctor?"
He thought about it, weighing the pros and cons. “well, if we go to al, we are at risk of high pitched squealing.”
She looked uncomfortable just thinking about her family doctor. Sans seemed to sense this.
“alphys it is!” They could certainly handle some fangirling… right? “um… if i may ask… why don’t you wanna see your doc?”
She was a bit hesitant but she sighed. "I need to tell you something about my past. Promise you won't leave me…?" She said on the brink of tears.
He kissed her, and hugged her, keeping her close to him. “i will never leave you. no matter what.” He promised.
She stared at him with her golden yellow gaze and held his hand and guided him to the sofa.
"Back when I was in highschool, I was about to graduate and since my sister was a late bloomer in getting her wings, she couldn't fly yet, even at the age of thirteen. Which is only three years late but you could tell that she was close. Anyways, one night, it was storming outside and we were all asleep. But compared to other people, I had high hearing, so when I heard the glass window break in the direction of my sister's room, I got up immediately to see what happened." She took a deep breath and calmly let it out while Sans held her hand tightly.
"I checked on her,...but she was gone. She wasn't in her bed. I looked out the window to see a shadow of a guy that was holding a struggling figure, I ran to my parents and woke them up but I didn't have a lot of time. I was a fast flyer in my school, so when I went after them I almost caught up. I was calling the authorities and telling them where we were, but the wind knocked my cell out of my hands. But I was almost there. Then the unthinkable happened. Lightning struck my wings. I was about to plummet and the kidnapper looked like he was going to get away. But I brought out my pistol that I got from my room before I took off. Luckily I didn't hit my sister, but one of the guy's wings. I tried to use my strength to go after my sister that the kidnapper decided to drop to her death. But…."
She sniffled with hot tears in her eyes.
"I was so close Sans. I almost had her! …. But the ground reached her before I could. I was so distraught, angry, and I couldn't think straight. So, after we shared our last words together, I picked her up, and carried her to a spot where I could find her. I tracked down the guy, we fought, he gave me this scar on my right eye but I put three bullets in his chest."
He listened intently, knowing what it was like to lose family… to lose a sibling. He’d gotten his revenge too, he couldn’t blame her for ever doing the EXACT same thing he had.
"I didn't kill him though… I aimed for the non vital parts. So he was just knocked unconscious. Regardless, I carried both my sister and dragged the man back to town. By then the storm let up, and my parents were hysterical. Both for me and even more for my sister. The police took the man to the hospital and after he was treated, tried to interrogate him if he was alone in the kidnapping or if someone hired him. He wouldn't budge. Later on, the police found him dead by hanging suicide in his jail cell. But a few days afterwards we had to bury my sister at her funeral. My mom kept crying nonstop and my father couldn't even look anyone in the eyes. Months passed and rumors started to spread on how I stopped the kidnapper. Some say I was a hero. But others argued that if I had just waited for the authorities to show up and then help them track him down, my sister would have still been alive. My mother spiralled into depression and the rumors really got to her. So one day, she called me to her room. I was about to ask what was wrong, til l saw the pistol on the side of her head. I tried to talk her out of it, but she was too far gone. She said that she loved me and that she was sorry, then she pulled the trigger."
That was where they were different. She’d spared the human that killed her sister like the kind woman she was… he was not so kind. Not to the kid who hadn’t even done it. He cradled her close when she talked about her mom’s suicide.
"M-my wings were getting worse by the day. It became too painful for me… so… our family doctor volunteered to amputate my wings, since the other doctors couldn't save them. After that, I asked him where they were and he SAID that he donated them to the study of wings. But…. He didn't have a single ounce of remorse in his tone. He smiled the entire time "trying" to "console" me. To me, it was like he was hitting on me. I don't know. My mind was muddled then. I could've been imagining it. But I always felt that his eyes lingered on me for too long when I went for checkups and his aura… no matter how many times I see him, it just unnerves me to my core. But I couldn't do anything since I don't have a "liable reason" to see another doctor. Plus my parents trusted him. So what could I do? Anyways, after the operation my life went to Hell. My dad stopped caring for me and became a drunkard, more nasty rumors popped up, I had to fend for myself in my daily life and for survival, I had started getting picked on when I went to college, and everything seemed to come down on me. Until I met you…. My feathered birdbrain." She tearfully croaked as she tried to wipe her tears away.
He kissed them away gently. “would you look at that, i’m still here!” He teased before going dead serious. “seriously though, i’m sorry your life has been crap. i’m sorry for the suffering you've been through, i wish i could just take it all away…” He connected his foreskull with her forehead. “and i’m gonna do everything in my power to make it better from here on out, my shining star..”
She smiled at him and gently kissed his teeth for a passionate kiss. When she broke for air, she stared at his heart shaped eye lights. "Please, let Alphys be our doctor. Okay?"
“y-yeah…” He agreed through his haze of passion. He shook himself out of it. “yeah, al can be our pediatrician.” He said again, more clear headed.
