*A few days later.
“Why are you still ignoring me?” Caroline paced around her room while Max lay on her bed going through one of the magazines that Carline had taken from her mom. Although Max had started talking to Caroline but she could still feel that Max was angry with her. This wasn’t the first time that Max had given her the silent treatment but that had been a very long time ago.
“. . .” Max refused to say anything and feigned concentration on the magazine that was mostly filled with recipes that Caroline like to read.
Caroline got angry and threw a pillow at Max “I’m serious Max. What happened?” She sat exasperated on the chair that was usually kept by her reading table.
“You tell me” Max said without raising his head and continued flipping the pages of the magazine. It had been three days already and he had refused speaking much to Caroline but naturally he couldn’t avoid her so he still visited. He also couldn’t deny that he got extremely pissed when Caroline kept hurting herself the way she did.
“I don’t know that’s why I’m asking” Caroline asked rolling her eyes in the most exaggerated way she could. There was nothing she could do to get Max to start talking so far and now she was exhausted by him but she knew Max had a valid reason getting that angry so she kept on asking.
Max rolled and let out a huge sigh, he sat up and looked straight at Caroline. “Why won’t you see a therapist?” He stared intently at her waiting for an answer. He knew Caroline had always felt uncomfortable seeing a therapist but he didn’t know why.
“But I already started seeing one” Caroline looked at Max puzzled. True she didn’t like seeing therapists and talking about the things that bothered her to an unknown person but she had finally agreed on going and she had her last session two weeks ago when she had to be taken to the hospital later after she had fainted.
“You stopped like two or was it three months ago?” Max said with a frown “And that was only after the first session” he continued still staring intently at Caroline who only gaped at him.
“What do you mean?” She looked serious all of a sudden and folded her arms. “I had my last session like two weeks ago and I told you about that” She was stunned as her mother still said the same thing when they had both registered at the recent clinic that she goes to. It felt like she was the only one who could remember that she had seen her therapist. ‘Did they think she hated it that much’ she thought to herself.
“No you didn’t” Max said “why would I forget that?” He tried to remember Caroline telling him about a therapy session but he couldn’t since Caroline never told him, at least he thought so.
“Well whatever, I really did go and I promise I’ll tell you the next time I have a session” She said trying not to blow it into an argument since this way the most that Max had said to her in a while. She also remembered what Ellie had told her which surprised her more as she only thought they were just her weird dreams.
Both Max and Caroline talked for a while and studied until it was getting dark outside. After a few minutes of talking to her mom, they both saw Max off. Caroline went straight up to her room and thought about the incidents so far and she wondered. Her mind wandered back to the recent dreams that she had with Ellie, if everything was true then her life would never go back to being the same again.
