“Long time no see” Ellie said smiling at Caroline as she walked around the small house that looked like a cottage. Caroline who was surprised to see Ellie did nothing but stare at the person that was presently in front of her. Ellie’s blond hair fell on her shoulders and wasn’t tied up like she had always seen and the dress that she wore looked strange but pretty nonetheless. She had always thought of Ellie as just her imagination but recently she wasn’t sure anymore.
It took a while for her to reply but she did anyway. “E..Ellie?” Caroline was stunned as she watched Ellie.
“Hey” Ellie said and this time she sat on a chair that was by the desk where a lot of potted plants were placed apart from the ones by the walls. The house was literally filled with plants. “Come sit” She continued and stretched out another chair for Caroline to sit.
“Not the beach this time then” Caroline said as she sat down scrutinizing the whole place that made Ellie laugh.
“No, not the beach” Ellie replied “You gave me this place actually” Ellie said making a gesture that implied the whole house.
Caroline looked at Ellie confused about what she said. There was no way she heard that right. “I don’t understand anything at all, you appearing multiple times in my dreams and how did I give you this place?” She asked Ellie who just smiled and waited for her to finish speaking.
“Well not exactly you, I mean it’s you but not you in this form” She paused for a while to let what she had just said sink into Caroline who was even more confused. “I didn’t think I would ever need to tell you but I think you should know so you can protect yourself and prepare”
Caroline was totally lost by the time Ellie stopped talking. “Do you mean you’re not just my imagination? Wait! I mean…” Caroline rubbed both temples with her hands, she was already feeling dizzy with everything she was hearing and it didn’t make any sense to her but the fact that she was here was even harder to believe. “Ok wait, first of all what exactly is it that I need to know and who the hell do I need to protect myself from?”
“About who you really are” Ellie replied, “And you need protection from ‘Rhedel’, an evil mage. I think she already did something but I won’t know unless you agree to calm down so I can explain what I mean.” She continued
Caroline chuckled “I think I’m really going crazy, I’m just dreaming right?” She got up and walked across the room asking more to herself than Ellie.
Ellie on the other hand knew it wasn’t going to be easy talking to Caroline and she tried the very possible way she could. “Line, I know you are really confused-”
“Yeah right” Caroline interrupted. “I have no clue what is going on” She said pacing around the room. For one thing the room definitely looked pretty but why was this happening? she couldn’t figure that part out and Ellie was someone that she had never met before so dreaming about her was strange and it she was even scared now rather than confused
“Line” Ellie said as she got up and stood behind Caroline. “I would need you to calm down so I can tell you everything. If you don’t know soon enough there’s no knowing what would happen to you”
Ellie finally succeeded in making Caroline calm and now they both sat and stared right at each other for a while in the room that seemed really quiet except for the sound of insects and rushing water from a lake close by.
“Alright I’m ready, carry on” Caroline spoke first since the quietness had started to feel eerie and it creeped her out. She really wasn’t bent on listening to anything but there wasn’t a choice at this point.
“Well, you are a mage” Ellie said and gave a
slightly long pause and gave Caroline some time when Caroline slowly nodded. “A
really powerful mage and you went by the name Aurolia……”
