warning: some swearing

Aiden's pov

The last lesson I have today is science, and it was a surprise to no one that our teacher -Mrs Harts- wasn't in. It didn't seem like the supply teacher, who had the unfortunate job of teaching this class for the next hour, was here yet, so everyone just did whatever they wanted to do. I was a bit thirsty, so I decided to go to the water fountain for a drink and to also, hopefully, waste a bit of time.

As I walk around a corner, one huge 'oh crap' echoes through my head. I freeze for a second. I see Rebecca, the school slut, pinned against the wall and loudly making out with Nathan. I try not to gag out of pure disgust and cringe as I walk past them and carry on walking. Thankfully, they seemed to be too lost in each other's eyes to notice me.

'Is the world trying to punish me or something?' I think as I turn another corner to get to the water fountain. 'You've got to be kidding me!' I think when I see who's there. Alex was there, standing right in front of the water fountain, talking to his group of friends, all of them obviously skipping class. 'Act normal and ignore them... I can do that! But they're probably going to make fun of me, so should I do it?' I think amongst the ten thousand other thoughts rushing through my head.

While my mind races at a million miles a second, I'm stuck in my thoughts until I hear someone saying, or rather growling, "The fuck you looking at, weirdo?" Alex's friends laugh, but Alex simply looks at me. His friends throw random insults at me, but I almost can't hear them while I look into Alex's dark green eyes, and we get lost in each other's eyes, at least for a few seconds.

One of his friends hits him on the head and, in an annoyed tone, asks him, "Yo dude, what the fuck? Why are you looking at the loner like that?" Another friend joins in by saying, "Yeah, dude, what the hell? Wait... don't tell me you took the bet seriously and actually kissed this loser?!" "And now you're in love with him!?", the other friend butts in. 'So it was a dare', I think, weirdly disappointed at the news as I walk away from the group, another friend shouting, "He thought it was real! The loser actually thought that Alex loved him!" and laughing loudly, the rest of the group joining in.
