It was the end of the ceremony for the coming of age mages and other magic users. They officially turned 21 years old and are starting their new lives as adults. One of those students that graduated into adulthood was Sunny Auroris. Tanish brown skinned, curly and wavy short blonde hair, crystal sky blue eyes. Her origins are unknown since her family dumped her at a young age at an orphanage. But she luckily made friends growing up. And that she was adopted by a kind and elderly lady named Anita Brown. Sunny kept her surname because she felt that it had a meaning to her existence, her very identity. She couldn't part with it.
She was walking away from the school building to go to her new apartment downtown, when she was suddenly pulled away in an alley and was blindfolded. She was about to use her magic to fight her way out, but once she smelled the incense aroma coming from her attacker, she smirked.
"To what do I owe this special kidnapping by the infamous Raven Winchester this fine evening~?" She playfully sang out. A disappointed huff as her response.
"You're no fun anymore, you know that?" Raven pouted. Sunny giggled at her tsundere friend. Raven was from the Winchester family that revolutionized in the inventing of magic guns of all sorts and sizes. And she was the sole heiress to the fortune. And she, like Sunny, was also an orphan. Though she was taken under the Head Butler's wing and raised her as his own. It would be today that she would inherit her family's name as head of the household.
"Shouldn't you be getting ready for when that stuffy lawyer comes by and has you sign the papers?" Sunny asked curiously.
Raven made a show of thinking about it. "No. I wanna find something worthwhile to do. Like kidnapping old friends and dragging them into dark alleyways." She smirked.
Sunny rolled her eyes playfully. "Well you should start going home quick before that butler of yours starts freaking out that you're late." She remarked.
"But that's the fun part, seeing his face." She grinned like a maniac.
Sunny shook her head tiredly. "What am I going to do with you... okay how about this? Since your house is on my way to my apartment, how about I walk you home?"
"... Fine.." She really didn't want to.
"C'mon! We can drop by the bitty and borrower store on the way and look at our choices for our future companions!" She offered with a spring in her step as she dragged Raven from the alley.
"Ok, but there better be some pretty cool ones there.." She allowed herself to be dragged away without much of a fight.
After about fifteen minutes of dragging a reluctant but slightly excited friend, they entered "Ebott's B and B and for all your magical needs" store. It was probably the most popular one for graduates to get their first bitty or borrower and all the stuff required for them along with extra stuff for spells and whatnot.
The two friends were immediately greeted with the smell of butterscotch incense and a nice homey vibe when they entered the store. The store door let off a cheerful chime to signal customers.
"There's so many of our classmates here! You think that they came here with the same idea?" Sunny wondered as she saw dozens of her former classmates piling over the counter to get their stuff. The poor goat monster couple doing all they can to meet their needs.
Raven gave Sunny the "what do you think?" look. "Shoulda known. They want one asap so they can start dueling and whatever. Maybe it's best if we try another day.." She was not a people person.
Sunny was beginning to think she was right, that was until she spotted a Dream and Nightmare bitty peeking around the corner of the counter.
'That's strange. Normally those types of bitties wouldn't be seen together so close because of their traits. I wonder what they're doing out of their playroom?'
She saw them hand in hand running towards the exit and that's when it hit her.
'Jailbreak!' she mentally screamed while making a horrified face. Her friend silently judging her.
'What is her problem?' That was her thought till Sunny started to chase after the two.
The door opened with more customers and she almost ran into them. The bitties noticed her and tried to stick together but evidently Nightmare was only able to get out while Raven teleported the Dream bitty from being stepped on and into her hand. She peered at the frightened bitty with her sharp dark midnight blue eyes.
"Hey! You caught one! Good job!" Sunny cheered.
"Yay.." It looked way too... happy.. For her liking. "Want it?"
Sunny gawked at her friend. "No! You caught him! This is CLEARLY a sign! You two are MEANT for each other!!!" She ranted to her reluctant friend. Sunny was big into those divination classes and excelled at seeing and reading fortunes and whatnot. But only under the Star of the Sun. When it came to the Moon, that was more Raven's specialty. But she hardly gave a damn about the class. She just did enough to get a good grade and pass. So when Sunny said that, she just rolled her eyes.
"Ok, ok, whatever. I'll keep him.. Are you going to let the other guy get away?"
"I mean I could probably catch up but he's so small. I mean I could probably find him with a spell, but for some reason my gut is telling me that he hasn't gone far. So let's get in line to buy the Dream bitty and get the necessities for him, okay?" She said with a determined look on her face.
Raven nodded, peering at the little bitty again. "What if they are related? How often do you see bitties together without an owner?" She asked.
"Hmmmm, good point. I was starting to think the same thing. Well! If they are related then he won't go far. And like I said, I can use a Finder's spell to get a lock on his location. Now c'mon we gotta get in line before the shop closes!" Sunny insisted as she grabbed Raven's arm and dragged her into the war zone that is after school shopping.
"I'm coming, I'm coming.." She looked for a safe place where she could put Dream without him escaping. She ended up tucking him into a more spacious pocket in her school bag so he could roam alittle. She kept it close so he wouldn't escape or nobody could take him.
Finally after several minutes of pushing and yelling at other busy mages, they were at the counter where the goat couple greeted them.
"I, uh, I caught this bitty, escaping your store. I wanted to purchase him and whatever he needs.." Raven fished out Dream.
Toriel was slightly surprised at the bitty. She's never seen that one before... Meanwhile the Dream bitty was sweating bullets under the gaze of the store owner.
Raven tucked him away, sensing his discomfort. "So how much is he?" She asked.
Toriel blinked a few times in confusion. She turned to her husband, who had just gotten done with dealing with some customers, and whispered to him and pointed to the bag and then to Raven. Asgore thought for a bit then nodded no. Toriel sighed tiredly.
"My dear child, I have no idea where he came from. We haven't had a shipment of Dream bitties for weeks. So I have no idea where this one may have come from. So, if he doesn't already have an owner, then he is yours for free my dear. Would you like some supplies for him? Well, firstly, does he have an owner?" She asked inquisitively.
She held up a finger and opened the bag. "Are you owned?"
Dream shook his head. "nope."
"Nope, I'll take those supplies." Raven concluded, closing the bag again. She was silently cheering for not having to pay for the guy, though she was curious as to where he came from.
Toriel nodded with a smile. She helped Raven to choose the needed necessities and stuff that he could want and in which colors. As soon as she got the food, Toriel rang her up for a total of hundred dollars and fifty cents. She paid for it and by the time the girls got to the front door, it was late and pouring outside.
"Ah great! Well we'll have to hurry then..." And it was at that time that Raven's cell phone went off. It was Arthur the Butler.
"Crap.. I gotta go.. Good luck with that Nightmare bitty. Wish I could avoid this longer.." She heaved a sigh.
"Right, thanks. Good luck." Sunny gave her a light hug as Raven ran out in the rain heading towards home.
Now Sunny just had to find that Nightmare bitty....
She was about to cast the Finder's spell until she heard a tiny sounding sneeze. She looked around the corner and down the alleyway beside the building and searched for the noise. At first, it was deathly quiet and she was about to turn back. But then one of the trash bins fell over causing a loud "CLANG". She must've jumped two feet in the air because of that. She looked around till she found the bitty that she was looking for, trying to and failing to hide behind the fallen trash bin. He was about to make a break for it, that was until she slowly bent down and slowly offered her hand.
