My soul sped up as my face flushed purple. Oh my stars, that was adorable! "N-not at all, i-it was merely a-an accident.." An adorable accident.
"Oh my~ do I hear wedding bells with my little egghead Wing Dings in the future~?" The mischievous voice that I knew all too well sounded right behind us. Godammit!!!
Rain didn't expect her like I did so she jumped in her seat a few feet in the air.
You're majesty, why?! "I don't believe I know what you're talking about." I crossed my arms, trying to compose myself better.
Her majesty cackled at my pathetic attempt to look mature. She's like a nosy matchmaking mother. And in a way, she is. Rain was trying to calm her pounding heart while having a face that practically screamed, "When the Hell did she get here?!"
"U-um G-gaster...?" She said taking steady breaths.
"Y-yes Rain?" Stars damned stutter! 'Stop it!'
"W-would you like to come home with me?" She sweetly asked.
Oh fuck yeah! "Of course! I thought you'd never ask!" I replied, maybe a little too quickly.
We heard loud laughter from behind us. Dammit! She's still here!
"This is wonderful~ come with me to fill the paperwork then, shall we~?" Her majesty chirped as she "walked" her way back. Us following after her.
We soon went to her desk, and she set a few papers confirming the adoption and her legal rights. She also handed the petition for our cause with a suggested donation a month subscription to our program. Her majesty went the extra mile for us, that's for certain. And I'll be eternally grateful to her for that. Rain signed everything AND signed up for the subscription! Thank the stars! But her majesty wasn't done yet strangely. She handed her one more piece of paper.
"What's this?" Rain asked curiously.
"Well, truth be told dearie, I'm a little short staffed at the moment. And you seem like a good person to keep a secret. And I was hoping whether or not that you would be willing to either work here full or part time? I know that you might have a job already, but that paper is also a volunteer form that lasts for a year. If you'd be willing to help this poor gal out with the lovelies. I would appreciate it highly. But again, it's all up to you dearie~. If you say "no" I won't hold it against you."
Rain looked at the paper, reading over the requirements and what needs to be done around the place. She gave her majesty a smile. "I do have a busy job to take care of, but I don't see the harm in volunteering for a few hours of my day. This place seems fun anyways. So yes, I'll sign."
"Wonderful~!!!! You won't regret this dearie~" her majesty cheered. And she wasn't the only one. The surrounding bitties whooped and cheered at finally having an extra hand and having someone to talk to besides the teasing queen.
Once Rain signed the paper, her majesty took it swiftly and put it in a blank file holder and wrote Rain's name on it. As she put it away, she looked back at us and gave a mischievous smile.
'Now what is she thinking?!' I wondered in exasperation, wanting nothing more than to hide away in one of Rain's pockets.
"I can tell you two have real chemistry~ and I wouldn't be surprised if I saw more of "shipment" of my Lamias in around nine months. I'm sure it would be most...
EGGcellent~~~" she said in her sultry voice.
Rain didn't get it, but I sure as hell did!!! The surrounding bitties wolf whistled, whooped in cheer, and snickered all the same. I blushed heavily, hiding my face. "Noooooooo..."
Rain didn't understand any of this and honestly, I preferred it that way.
Her majesty got up and went towards me. She had me look into her eyes and gave me a kiss on the head. Almost as if she was handing off her son to be married. She whispered in our language to me, "May the All Creator guide you my son."
I nearly burst into tears. Again, Rain didn't know what was happening but she stayed quiet. Getting the sense that this was a special moment between us.
......
I had to be put in a special carrier for snakes with a blanket overtop while walking outside to her apartment in the French Quarter. I have to say. Even though I couldn't see much, I could tell it was a pleasant and lively place.
She entered her apartment and locked the door behind herself while she put the carrier down on the floor. She removed the blanket and opened the door for me.
"Here you go Gaster! Your new home!!!" She cheered.
I looked around the place in awe. It was truly stunning, with her cultural decor, spacious and surprisingly tidy room/s.
"So...? What do you think...? Sorry if the decor is a little confusing it's the stuff that I had at the Navajo Reserve. So it might be a bit strange." She said nervously.
"This... this is amazing! Is this Navajo? I've been learning of the different native cultures and figured you were of native descent, but I did not know you were Navajo." I was visibly excited.
She smiled nervously. "W-well, I don't like talking about it that much...." She said looking down sadly rubbing her right arm in discomfort.
My excitement faded into shame. I was ashamed to make her sad so quickly. I decided to give her cheek a hug. "Then we will not, I am sorry.."
She smiled at me sweetly. "Thanks, you don't have to say sorry. It's just.... After I declined having an arranged marriage in my tribe.... My parents disowned me... my brothers still talk to me though! They call often. Maybe if they visit or Skype, I can introduce you to them!" She said in a more upbeat tone.
"That sounds wonderful, Rain!" 'I still should have picked up on your reluctance though..' I sighed heavily before realizing that he was still hugging her cheek. "OH MY STARS, I'M SO SORRY!" I let go quickly and nearly fell off her shoulder in his panic.
Rain caught me in time and giggled. "Cookie, you're okay. I don't mind. You're too formal sometimes. Relax this is your new home. You're allowed to do what you want. As long as you don't get hurt. I don't mind. And speaking of cookies...." She pointed out the giant pile of assorted cookies on her kitchen island. "Want one?" She giggled at my blush.
I was still blushing at the pet name. I would have to find one for her as well. When I saw all the cookies though... I was practically drooling over them. "Uh yes, yes, and did I mention, yes?"
Rain chuckled. She put me on the kitchen isle and offered the cookies that she baked. "Don't eat too much, or you'll ruin your appetite for dinner." She then noticed that a rainstorm was coming. "Oh, I hope we don't lose power tonight. That would just be my luck..."
"Thank you so much, Chip!" I grabbed a cookie and bit into it before he heard the rest. Lose power? I followed her gaze. The dark clouds were intimidating and I wasn't a fan of thunder. Scared the scales off of me..
"Did you just call me Chip?" She giggled as set her hands on her hip while making a playful face at me.
I blushed and nodded, swallowing the bite so I could explain. "After the Triple Chocolate Chip cookie... yes." I took another bite.
"Awww, that's so sweet of you~ tha---" before she finished a clap of thunder sounded off. The lights flickering.
"Crap..." Rain muttered.
It was a good thing skeletons couldn't choke because I would have. I curled up fearfully, nervousness on my features. I hated storms. I tried to suppress the shivers of fear traveling through me.
Before Rain had a chance to comfort me... the lights went out.
"Double crap...." She cursed under her breath. She grabbed a flashlight that she kept on hand in one of the kitchen drawers and used it to find a small lantern. She turned it on and gently put it right beside me.
I looked up at her with scared sockets and flinched, covering my "ears" as another clap of thunder resounded.
"Would you want to cuddle?" She offered as she held her arm out for me to take.
I shakily reached for her, unable to make a sound, other than a squeak.
She gently picked me up and cradled me in her arms and against her beating heart. "Shhh, shhhh, it's okay. We're safe. Let's skip dinner tonight. Let's go to bed okay?" She suggested.
I gave a nod, trying to focus on the thrum of her heart, a lot more fun to listen to than thunder. The rhythm was rather calming to me and I felt more relaxed like this.
Although when she went to the bedroom she felt her hands get heavier and heavier. Until she thought she dropped him. "Gaster! Are you okay?! Where are you?! Where's my damn flashlight..." she cursed under her breath at her lack of memory.
"In the kitchen, on the count-" I stopped a moment, flinching again at the thunder, before continuing. "...counter.." I took a shaky breath. I hadn't meant to grow. I must've simply been that relaxed and the pull in my soul didn't help either.
"Okay... just stay where you are and I'll be right back... are you hurt?! And why... does your voice sound... deeper?" She asked worriedly but curiously.
"I am unharmed... as for my voice... it's a thing my species can do.." I wasn't sure whether to expand on that or not.
"Ooookaaaayyy? I'll be right back. Don't move or I might step on you okay?!" She left the room before he got the chance to respond. She managed to grab the flashlight from the counter thanks to the lantern on the kitchen island. She ran back and carefully opened the door she shined the flashlight on the floor to see where she dropped me. Until she saw A. Big. Snakelike. Body. In front of her. She shined the flashlight further up the body and finally came to my face.
"G-gaster?!" She breathed out in a mix of excited and scared emotions.
Relief shown on my face for a moment before I remembered my predicament. "O-oh right.. Th-the growing th-thing.." The storm really had me rattled, and being alone hadn't helped much, even if it was only for a minute or so.
She saw the fear and discomfort in my sockets. She steeled her nerves and carefully walked closer to me till she put one of her free hands on my cheekbone. "It's going to be alright. Do you still want to sleep with me....?"
I blushed bright purple. 'S-sleep with her?!' He didn't even know how to begin processing that and decided that I needed a hug NOW. So I hugged her, burying my face in the crook of her neck, while my tail wrapped itself around her legs. 'This is nice..'
She relaxed a little and gently petted my head and rubbed slow circles on my back. "It's going to be okay, Cookie. Let's go to bed. Okay?" She said as she pecked the side of his skull.
"Mmhm.." I didn't move though. I liked this. I liked it alot.
3rd POV
She giggled. "You silly, c'mon...." She then got a mischievous idea. It wasn't like her to do this. But desperate times calls for desperate measures.
"Gaster~~~ Cookie~~~" she cooed.
He jolted from his position, becoming a luminescent grape. "Ch-Chip-" That wasn't due to the storm.
"Want to sleep with me~~~? I'll make you forget about the storm~~~ and make you nice and warm~~~." She purred as she stared at his sockets.
If she kept going like this, he couldn't be held responsible for what happened next. "Chip.." He breathed, nuzzling into her affectionately.
She giggled at the contact. "Well~ what's your answer~?" She whispered to him seductively. She originally wanted to just tease him enough to relax from the storm. But now her soul throbbed for him. He was so cute and handsome. She never thought that she would have a second chance with love again. She wasn't missing this chance. "Gaster~~~" she trailed gently up his spine.
"Rain~" He started to plant kisses on her neck, picking her up and moving to the bed as he did so.
"See~? Isn't this better~?" She nibbled on his neck.
He moaned. "So much better~~"
She giggled. "You know... Louisiana is known for its constant rain storms. Wanna do this every time to keep you... preoccupied~?" She purred as he dropped her on the bed. He nodded as he pinned her down, attacking her lips in heated kisses.
She licked around his fangs and nibbled on his purple tongue as she clung to him like a vice.
After a few hours of passionate activities, they both laid naked on the bed. Gaster's snake body coiled around her protectively. She watched him sleep through the ongoing storm outside and smiled.
"I think this is only the beginning for us my Cookie~" she whispered as she pecked him on the head gently and cuddled into his bony chest and fell fast asleep.
