A little addendum: Humans that have their blood sucked by a vampire will not turn into vampires. This is a common fact. There will be more specific facts informed in the coming episodes.

In general, immortal means can't die. However, it depends how the creator define “immortal”. According to the definitions used in some stories, it simply means they won't get older but that they are still susceptible to accidents or being killed. And in TVTD, I used the definition of immortal as not getting older and can live forever as long they are not killed. Hope this explained. Thank you.
