Chapter 18: My life after the wedding
A few weeks passed and I was fitting well in my new school.
I made some new friends and the lessons were thankfully pretty much at the same level as my previous classes.
In a blink of an eye, I had to study for my college exams as my final year of high school was ending.
I passed and I was now a college student.
My days were pretty mundane with the exceptions of the HELIOS members visiting us and I was smoothly going unto my second year of college.
It was then I received the great news that my mom was blessed with a baby.
It got pretty hard for me to attend school and help my mom with her pregnancy but I couldn’t help but be happy whenever I see my mom’s stomach steadily grow.
In my third year of college, I finally met my younger sibling. It was a baby boy and he looked so fragile and cute.
When my mother finally got discharged from the hospital, I helped her raise the baby at home.
It was a hard task since it was hard to concentrate on my studies when the baby was crying.
My mom felt bad and so my dad asked his trustable and reliable friend Asata Hiroshi, HELIO’s leader, to make me live with him when I had a serious test coming up.
I was pretty nervous at first, to live with him, but I didn’t have time to worry about my environnement when I had to pass my tests.
It was at that moment that he suggested that I be a tutor to one of his friend’s siblings.
I was hesitant at first since I was already pretty occupied but I instantly accepted after seeing how much his friend was willing to pay me.
Sure, it was pretty convenient to use your rich dad’s money but I wanted to hurry up and be independent.
Even more, since these two didn’t have a honeymoon, I wanted to start living on my own so that they can at least enjoy their intimate moments without me being in the way.
Though right now there is a baby, so I may have to babysit a few times but all these plans need money and to get money I have to earn it. Otherwise, I would feel too bad to always ask for allowance to my bias.
When the exam period was finally over, Asata Hiroshi accompanied me to his friend’s home and met my employer.
At his house, his friend led us the way to his sibling’s room upstairs and knocked on the door.
I was nervously looking at Asata Hiroshi who was beside me and he reassured me that the kid was kind.
The door opened and the student that I was going to teach came out of the room.
We both introduced ourselves to each other.
“Hi, my name is Hifumi Kumiko and I’ll be your teacher from now on”, I tried to be calm.
“Ah, yes hello. My name is Kono Kazuhiko”, he said. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Asata Hiroshi and his friend both left us alone to give us some time to know more about each other.
Kono Kazuhiko invited me to his room and he told me to sit on his bed as he sat on his desk chair.
There was an awkward silence and I decided to break the ice by asking how well he did at school.
“So Kazuhiko-kun…” I started. “Ah! Can I call you like that?”
“Ah, yes. Please be comfortable”, he nodded his head.
“So then, Kazuhiko-kun, I heard that you’re in your third year of high school. Is there any subject that you don’t feel confident with?” I asked.
Kono Kazuhiko was really cooperative and he earnestly replied to all of my questions.
By the end of the session, I didn’t feel as nervous as I was before and that gave me confidence at keeping this job.
Since today was just an introduction day, I didn’t stay long at the house.
Asata Hiroshi drived me back home and asked me what I thought about his friend’s little brother.
“So what do you think of Kazu-kun, Kumiko-chan?” he asked while driving.
“I think he’s a nice kid,” I answered.
“Right?” He looked at me with a smile on his face for a second. “He may seem cold but he’s only a quiet and awkward kid. The more you will get to know him, the more you will see his kindness.”
I smiled. I was happy that my first ever student had such a good impression on the leader of my favorite idol group. I thought I had to do my best at teaching such a nice child and I started planning on my phone my first lesson.
