12 long and arduous years past as Charlemagne and his parents openly trained his magic and his combat skills along with that of the other villagers; who at first were concerned. That was until they learned of the twins being born with such capabilities too. Then as time went on every now and then a few children born over the last 12 years would also be born with magical powers and these star birthmarks. None of them were born with any moons or suns on them like Charlemagne was; which made the villagers believe that he must have been the first. Not only because he was born first but he has far more than everyone else and his power by comparison is much greater.

His father trained him with a wooden sword similar to the shape of the weapon he brought from his home out in the far east as he claimed to be native tribesmen that they had settled here with. He called the bronze sword he used a Yayoi Blade named after the people who used it. It looks like a combination of a Chinese sword and an ancestor of the Japanese katana. The wooden replica that he trained with was made to be very accurate to the weight of the sword his father used.

He eventually became so proficient with swordsmanship that his father, not only felt good with what he learned that he began teaching him the ways of the African spear used by the natives. From what he could tell, they seemed to be Roman spears that have been decorated like tribal African spears. He knew that around this time Rome was conquering most of North Africa around the Mediterranean Sea so it could mean that these people have run into Roman scouts or soldiers and somehow manage to take their weapons.

Trying to understand exactly what time in history he got dropped off in to give himself a rough estimate of what year it might be was something that he thought of every now and then during training and study but that did not slow his training down. Those twelve years were spent wisely learning everything he could about the way of the sword and spear from his father. As an Angel of War his father taught him everything he knew about warfare and combat mostly showing him the tactics of the people who worshipped Hachiman, but he did teach him some of the tactics he had learned while fighting the Romans that they employed. Some of the African tribesmen that his father fought alongside to keep this village safe and hunted with for the village also taught him their tactics and skills. With everything that he learned from them it was clear that by the time he was 15 he was probably the best warrior, aside from his father, in the entire tribe.

His mother supervised his study of magic and eventually as he started learning how to cast spells and became more proficient his real power started to shine. His manipulation of magic was far superior to that of anyone she had ever seen that possessed it elsewhere in creation; outside of her God whom magic itself originated from. His innate skill and talent with it allowed him to have an affinity for every magical type that there was, and every school of magic that she and the other servants of her God had studied and learned meticulously was something that he almost seemed to know instinctually. She couldn't really teach him much she just explained things in ways that he could understand and he just seemed to be able to make it work just based off of a description.

Charlamagne didn't really understand why he was so good with magic. After all everything that he picked when it came to choosing how he would start in this world was focused on combat and warfare. Though there were spells and abilities that were chosen that had something to do with magic, it was not anything close to the level of proficiency that he has. He often thinks it may be due to whatever class he has that he didn't get the pick.

He didn't let that stop him though and with his mother's help he learned mostly from the school of Elemancy, but she did help him to dabble in every other school of magic. He was able to gain knowledge of a couple spells of every type, but mostly Elemancy spells. His proficiency with that school of magic really showed as he wielded the five elements as if they were an extension of his very being with expert precision and control.

When some of the other children who possess magic tried to learn as well it took them years to cast even their first spell. It showed him the night and day difference between what he was able to do and what they were able to do. However that did not stop them from trying. Eventually Charlemagne himself started actually giving them lessons on some of the much easier and much less powerful spells. They learned quite well under him while he was still learning from his mother.

On the day of his 15th birthday he was officially recognized as an adult amongst the tribesmen and women. The party is long and celebrated greatly having quite a big feast to honor his coming-of-age. Then the chief of the village approached to give him the task he must complete to prove himself a true adult.

Chief Wakababii was maybe in his early 50s and was a man of reddish dark brown complexion. He had a long dreadlocks that flowed freely in the wind that were once dark black but have now become grayish with age. He had a very long bushy curly black and gray beard that reach down to his pectoral muscles on his chest. He had scars but seem to be an indication of battles that he had fought in and survived most likely against men and beasts. One of his eyes had become glazed over and blind the other was a bright brown color.

He spoke with a very deep bold voice but his tone conveyed wisdom, "Young Charlemagne, son of Vaxalyn and Hinami. When your parents came to this tribe they were foreigners seeking a place to call home. They earned their place in the tribe do hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. But you were born here as a proud member of our people. You are a member of the Sun-Blessed tribe. The last tribe of true Libu people descendants of the Sanhaja people to survive the conquest of the Greeks, Phoenicians, and Romans. Our people did not fall to their control and we did not die in the fall of Carthage. And you as a new adult must now prove yourself by killing a beast and bringing it back here by tomorrow at sunset. Am I understood?"

Charlemagne gave him a nod and grabbed his spear. His parents painted his face with red paint as was tradition. As he stood he looked to his parents and gave a bow before walking out of their village.

As he left the village to go complete this task to prove himself a man in the eyes of his tribe it was the first time he would see real combat in this world and possibly put his life in danger depending on what he found. Charlemagne was dressed in the red and white robes that were traditionally given to the members of his tribe on there coming-of-age celebrations with a golden blond fur lining around the collar and cuffs. Usually it would be decorated with patterns that his family would choose to be added in but he specifically requested no pattern. He wore thick sandals on his feet that also wrapped around his ankles so they didn't just slide off. He wore no headgear of any kind and instead let his long curly black hair blowing in the breeze. Under the light of the moon his dark tan skin glistened with sweat in the heat of the Sahara. His light brown eyes watched the shadows intensely as he walked.

To his surprise he actually looked very similar to himself in his past life though there were some slight differences in his facial features, but very slight as he was almost a 1 for 1 copy of his previous self. He wondered maybe if that was intentional so that those who remember him that came back with him could be able to recognize him.

He also wondered about how much he has grown stronger since coming to this parallel world as he was told. He's tried to pull up his character sheet since he's been here, but he could never seem to figure out how to make it appear. However now after hearing the chief Charlemagne does have a idea of at least around what time he has ended up in. He is most likely as he was informed sometime before the birth of Christ but after the fall of Carthage. Which means that he has been reborn maybe at most about 140 years before Christ's own birth. Given that he is now 15 years old that would mean that he is at the absolute most currently living in the year 125 B.C.

He also now has an idea of exactly where he is, and with the understanding both what the actual body of water is that his village sits along the coast of. He is most likely in the country of Libya which is why his chief recognized them as the Libu people. It also means that the language that the tribe speaks was one of the dialects of either Berber or Arabic. He's heard some Arabic before and their language doesn't really sound the same, but he also knows that there is a distinction with dialect and regional accents. However he is more certain that the language itself is some form of Berber.

Given the location and remoteness of it all and history from what it looks like to him his village is most likely somewhere around the Libyan city of Sirte. With what he knows historically about how that city came to be during his time in Libya during the war when he was stationed at the old fort in Sirte, that had been built after the birth of Christ, there was no village that was supposedly in that area. That means historically his tribe either moved on or were wiped out.

These thoughts ran through his mind as he walked and he worried deeply about his home. As the village was more home to him then his previous one. Then suddenly his train of thought was broken when he heard the sound of footsteps trying to sneak up on him from behind.

He saw behind him was a Roman legionary scout with a noticeable burn mark on his body that seemed shocked that Charlemagne heard him approaching. Charlemagne saw the man had a blunted weapon and not a normal spear or sword. Also hanging from the man's hip were shackles and chains. He realized the man wasn't about to attack him but instead try and take him captive.

The man lunged forward after collecting himself, but Charlemagne with strength that the legionary was not prepared for kicked him with enough force that it seemed to break some of the man's ribs through the armor he wore. The kick put a noticeable dent in the iron of the scout's breastplate. As he watched the scout gets sent flying back about 10 feet and rolling on the ground an extra 5 feet he heard more people begin to try and rush him from all sides.

As he saw five more men charging at him at the same time he was outnumbered for certain and he could hear more approaching. However this was not the first time he fought multiple people at once, and his training has prepared him for such a scenario. A normal man would try and sidestep one or two of them and cause them to collide with each other since they ran full force and didn't seem to be aware of their momentum. But Charlemagne was not a normal man and he is far stronger than a normal human.

With a single leap he was up 15 feet in the air, and as they looked up at him while still in motion not able to slow down, they slammed into each other some of them falling to the ground. Charlemagne landed on one of those still standing causing the man to be forcefully pushed to the ground. With his foot on the man's skull it was clear that he had crushed most of the man's face with the force of his landing. Immediately he took his spear and impaled it through the chest of the second man still standing. Then swing it left to hit the final man that was still up knocking him to the ground as the body of his now dead friend was carried and pushed into him before Charlemagne pull the spear out of that man's corpse. Charlemagne then threw the spear at one of the people charging at him from the bushes impaling him through the chest and into the ground.

There were 4 more people charging him from the bushes that were still alive and there were 2 people still alive on the ground. He decided it would be better to use magic, and as his markings began to glow white all across his body; he made the earth beneath the ones charging at him reach up and bind them in place. At that moment 3 arrows flew at him from beyond the tree line, but he was much faster than arrows could fly. He could see them coming at him in slow motion, so he took a single finger and deflected each and they went into the ground around him.

He then pointed his finger in the direction of where the arrows flew and sent out a bolt of lightning that hit one of the archers without him even needing to see where the man was. The light that the bolt produced illuminated the other 2 archers which he immediately pointed at and shot with bolts of lightning for them as well. He made sure to beef up the intensity of the electricity enough to cause their entire nervous systems to overload and kill them.

One of the two men on the ground got up and try to swing their club at his head, but it simply shattered into pieces when making contact with his skull. Charlamagne grab that man by the throat with one hand, and with enough force and swift motion he snapped his neck. As the body hit the ground he looked back at the ones that were still ensnared by the earth and snapped his fingers to ignite them all with flame.

As he stood over the last man alive who was on the ground shaking with fear, he made the earth bind him to the ground so he could not escape. Charlamagne look down at him with disdain and disgust, but he had been taught enough of the language of the Romans of this time to speak to them. So he asked the man in Old Latin, "Why are you here? Answer truthfully and I will not kill you." Charlemagne made fire erupt from his hands as a form of scare tactic which seem to make the man so frightened he pissed himself.

He panicked and answered with pure terror, "I'll talk! I'll talk! Just please don't kill me! We were told to capture anyone in the hidden village by the coast. Our captain suspects that there are some Star-Kissed there with powers we could use. We were told that anyone who resisted supposed to be beaten to near death and taken in. Any who aren't Star-Kissed are to be sold as slaves. Please don't kill me. I beg you to have mercy."

Charlamagne look down on him putting his foot on the man's chest leaning in closer with wisps of smoke coming off of his eyes that were now glowing with a bright red color as the color of his birthmarks change to the same red. He asked with a tone that conveyed if the man didn't answer correctly he was going to most likely burn him to death slowly and painfully, "Are there more of you and where are they?"
