The man immediately revealed everything in the hopes that he would not be murdered, "There's another group about twice as big as ours that is led by our captain that was supposed to attack the village from the other side while we came from this side. They will most likely be approaching the village and less than a few minutes. That's everything I know please spare my life."
Charlemagne took his hand and severed the man's left arm from below the elbow by ripping it off and then using his flames to cauterize the wound enough to where the man won't die from bleeding out. He looks at him and says, "You can live but consider your arm pay back for this sin."
He unbound the man and then immediately rushed off taking his spear with him back towards his village. He had been walking for about 20 minutes but he knew if he gave enough power behind his sprint he could get back in less than 2 minutes. So rushing back with all he had he was able to make it back home a lot faster. When he arrived he saw his father fighting a well decorated Roman legionary captain while the other warriors try to fight off the scouts who were trying to burn down their huts.
Immediately seeing the burning huts and spotting some of the children that he had thought a few spells to he shouted orders to them that seemed to wake them from fear, "Use the spell I taught you guys and shoot water at the homes to put out the fire! Do not worry about these scary men because I'm here to keep everyone safe!"
The children in their fright hearing his orders were more scared of what their teacher would end up doing to them then these soldiers in the moment if they disobeyed. They immediately began shooting torrents of water from their hands towards the burning huts putting out the fires. When the soldiers try to stop them Charlemagne's mother came with a broken spear head in her hand using it as a dagger. She started slicing the throats open of any soldiers that got near the children.
Charlamagne rushed over to help his father in the warriors, only to see that it looked like his father was intentionally holding back while fighting the captain. It became clear enough to him that he was worried that with everyone here watching if he gave it his all they might not think him a normal human like they had been led to believe. But he did not have time to think about such things as immediately arrows started raining down from the sky towards their warriors. Charlemagne had to use the power of the wind to redirect the arrows so they could not even come close enough.
Looking at the current enemies that were still alive there is nearly 40 of them fighting against the 7 warriors and Charlemagne's parents. He knew that his parents were the ones really keeping most of the soldiers back but he could tell that they were withholding their true skill and power.
As he rushed in to join the fight, he dropped kicked one of the Roman scouts that was about to try and attack his father from the side. The force of the dropkick was so strong it caved in the man's chest. He then shot out a massive bolt of lightning that hit 3 enemies at the same time. The electricity was so intense it fried them to a crisp.
When the next volley of arrows came flying at them, he used his control over the wind to catch them in mid-air and redirecting right back at the ones who were firing. Most of them hit the archers but they were not hit anywhere fatal. Still it was enough to throw them off which gave Charlemagne an opening using his fire magic to propel himself forward like a rocket closing the distance between him and the archers.
With a swift hand motion a torrent of fire and ash engulfed all of the archers. Charlemagne did not hesitate as they burned alive to focus his attention on now striking the Romans from behind with bolts of lightning. However they were still greatly outnumbered and the warriors of his village were beginning to run out of stamina.
Then his blood ran cold as he heard the battle cry of more Romans approaching you from behind him only to see almost 200 of them. He did not have much time to react and so he put up a massive circular stone wall to entrap the soldiers. It would hold but not for long enough. He was starting to run low on mana and he could feel as he too was losing stamina fast. He picked up one of the Romans swords from off of the archers he killed. The heat of the blade didn't really affect him at all or leave any burns on his hands. In his other hand he grabbed one of the Roman spears off of another dead soldier.
As he charged in he unleashed a volley of attacks with his sword and spear all those that he did not kill were slaughtered by the warriors of his village. As the chief of the village tried to help as best as he could a Roman sword struck him in the face where his blind eye was and a Roman dagger pierced him in the shoulder. As he fell to the ground about to be killed Charlemagne's mother came up behind the soldier and shove the spear head through the back of his skull saving the chief.
His father was in the middle of a very intense sword fight with the captain of these Romans, so Charlemagne focused on thinning out the numbers of remaining scouts as he could hear the sound of the stone wall he put up slowly breaking. As his heart was pounding rapidly and his lungs felt like they were running out of air faster than they could take in more; Charlemagne fought on but he began to feel that they were all out matched and out numbered. With every soldier he struck down helping his people he felt like he was back on the front lines of the war. He felt despair as this world was not what he was accustomed to and even if he had the strength and power he was still too weak take on so many. As all but the captain of the Romans that were not trapped remained standing; he and the rest of the villagers watch as they slowly try to stumble over to help as the captain's sword pierced his father's shoulder.
Seeing this made him freeze for a moment as he saw his wonderful father wounded and losing to such a weak Roman. Memories begin to flow through his mind as he continues slowly stumbling forward. He remembered all of the training his father put him through. He knew how strong his father was. He knew this single Roman was not strong enough to defeat the real Vaxalyn Ignis.
Rage began to build up inside him as he stepped closer to tired to run. At first heat rippled from his body then his entire body ignited with intense white flames. Seeing his father looking like he's struggling to hold the sword from digging in deeper enraged him. His father was more worried about keeping up the appearance of being human then seriously defending their home when it mattered most. His mother was the same she looked exhausted but he knew that in reality the two of them alone could have killed every Roman here. He knew what was hunting them and he didn't care.
With all of his rage he shouted to both of them which seemed to shock the captain as he finally looked back and saw the raging inferno that was Charlemagne, "I don't know what's gotten into all of you!!! But this is not the time to be holding back!! These people threaten our home! They threatened our lives! They seek to separate families and take those they consider undesirable to be sold as slaves! I will be no one's slave! And I will not let these pathetic Romans destroy my home!!!! So get off your asses and fight! This is our home! This is our tribe! We are the last of the true Libu people! We are the descendants of the Sanhaja! We did not fall to the Greek! Not to the Phoenicians! And we will not fall to these Romans!! We are survivors! We are warriors! We are the Sun-Blessed tribe god dammit!!! Any who threatens our home and our tribe will taste our spears! For if they fight one of us then they must fight all of us! NOW STOP WASTING TIME AND KILL THEM ALL!!!!"
For a moment as he gives his final command his white flames take the shape of a mighty dragon before disappearing altogether and his mana seemingly running near empty. This sight stirs something in his mother and father, and his words not only reach them but the rest of the tribe too. They slowly begin taking up the weapons of the fallen soldiers; even the children try and pick up their daggers. His father's eyes turn bright white and begin to glow and with a single kick the captain gets sent flying back about 10 feet and stumbles to the ground.
As Vaxalyn stands up he removes the sword from a shoulder and tosses it into the ground. His wounds heal instantaneously as his skin changes color to a bright red. Horns appear from his head in the shape of an almost halo like crown made of gold. Two large white feathered wings appear out of his back and his hair changes to a pure metallic gold color with flames coming off of the ends of the individual strands of hair. A halo in the shape of a sun appears behind his head and a large thick tail about 4 1/2 feet long similar to that of a lizard covered in red scales sprouts from his tailbone. Golden samurai armor and beautiful white robes manifest onto his body and a golden naginata and silver wakizashi appears in his hands.
Hinami similarly changed releasing the seal off of herself as well. Permanently saying goodbye to her human form as she would no longer be Dimmed either. Her skin became a beautiful marble black color that was smooth and flawless with a glossy sheen that made her look like she was sculpted from the finest material to be beautiful. Two oni like horns came out of her head where her scars were. White markings appeared across her body similar to that of the sugar skull designs famous for South American cultures celebrating the Day of the Dead. This gave her beautiful features a slightly frightening skeletal like look to inspire fear along with beauty. Her hair became solid white and her eyes were pitch black. Golden spikes came out of her shoulders and large bat-like wings sprouted from her back. Her tail was long like his father's but hers was much more slender and flexible and it had spikes going all the way down to the tip that were also golden. So where the claws that came from her fingernails the same gold color. A fractured halo of a silver moon appeared behind her head.
The Roman captain crawled back in fear as the two of them transformed. He let out a scream of terror seeing what he perceived to be monsters standing before him. Charlemagne shut him up immediately tossing the at this point glowing red hot sword into the man's chest stabbing him through the heart and lungs and cauterizing the wounds that it made.
As the stone wall came crumbling down seconds later. The Romans saw as the entire town for the most part stood wielding weapons ready to defend their village. At the front of them was an angel, a demon, and a young man all ready to fight to the death. In the quiet moment seeing what each side was facing they all collectively steeled themselves for the battle.
Then Charlemagne using the last of his mana put it all into one final attack; as he raised his hand up to the sky and his birthmarks all glowed a bright red color. A large spell circle appeared above the heads of the Romans about 50 feet in the air, and as he brought his hand down a pillar of fire struck at the very center of the group of Romans. Killing at least 50 or 60 of them in the process before it stopped. With the last of his mana gone, he felt more exhausted than anything else and he could feel his body screaming in pain as he's pushed himself too far.
But he did not fall instead he gripped his sword and he gripped his spear. As he slowly began dragging his feet forward the warriors began chanting behind him in their language. They shouted proudly with almost renewed strength and vigor to carry on, "We are the Sun-Blessed! We will not fall! We will not die!"
As his people... No, his tribe.... No, his family unleashed their great battle cry, the Romans seemed shocked with fear as the entire villages people started charging at them. Charlemagne seemingly finding the stamina to rush forward charged with great speed towards the Romans. He and his parents with unmatched skill and deadly accuracy started slaughtering the Romans and any that they did not get the people in his village finished off for them. The Romans still had them outnumbered but it was much more manageable. And now with his parents no longer holding back this wasn't a fight, it was a slaughter.
For every Roman that died they seem to find more energy to keep pushing further and further making sure to work together. They fell into a rhythm that was unmatched with how coordinated they were.
The Romans stood no chance and when only one man left and the villagers were about to kill him Charlemagne's stopped them. He told them, "No this one lives. He will go back and tell the Romans that he answers to that we will not be their slaves. He will tell them of this massacre and that no matter how many they send we will never fall."
He looked back at the Roman man that was about to die, and plucked out one of his eyes causing the man to scream in pain. He leaned down and told the man, "For this sin that you have committed today you have paid for it with your eye and the rest of your payment will be by delivering a message of what happened to your to your commanding officer. Make sure that they know that even if they send 10,000 men they will all die the same. As long as you deliver my message you will continue to live to see tomorrow. Now go."
Seeing as he was let go and allowed to live to bring a message the scout got up and took off running for his dear life. As he disappeared into the tree line Charlemagne walked over to his father and mother giving them a smile finally seeing what they really look like and not being afraid. Then his exhaustion finally caught up with him and he fell to the ground unconscious. As he was completely out cold, his mother and father rushed over to him helping him off the ground and checking to see what was going on with him.
His parents carried him off to their home and tucked him into bed making sure to watch over him as he got some rest. The villagers seeing the damage to their town collected the weapons and armor off of the dead Romans and dragged their bodies away. Eventually they ended up finding the ones Charlemagne killed while he was leaving to go complete his task. The warriors of the village took basic wooden spears that they used as javelins and impaled the corpses with them. They planted them firmly in the ground around the edge of their territory as a warning sign to all Romans that came within their land.
In the year 2055, the world is in chaos as World War 3 is in full swing and has been growing worse and worse over the span of the last 5 years. A lieutenant of the United States Army by the name of Charlemagne Ignis and the last 8 that remains of his platoon after the rest of their squadron was slaughtered fight to the very end until nuclear bombs begin raining from the sky. Right when the bomb is about to hit and all of them are about to die time seems to freeze and Charlamagne is given an offer by an unknown being calling itself God. He can die here, or he can be transported to a world like his Earth but with magic and monsters and potentially find a way to save humanity from death by nuclear fire. Only after accepting the deal from the mysterious entity that offered it, he learned that there was a bit more to the world and to the deal than he initially thought. Finding that the world was similar to some of the video games that he had played in his youth and that he was reborn as a Nephilim made him start to question whether or not he was really alive or just dreaming it all up before dying. With a whole world to explore and several mysteries to uncover, Charlemagne would immediately set out to try and figure out how this world worked and who the entity was really that offered him this deal.
