What It Feels Like

Episode 10

Episode 10

Jun 08, 2022

I sighed. Nightmare won’t get to me, believe it! “Alright, you guys decided your squad formation, I don’t care.” the coach said like a bossy pants. Our team grouped together to talk. “Okay, first decision. Who’s gonna be point guard?” Geno asked. “Ink.” everyone said. “What? Why me?” I squeaked. “Because you are the shortest, and quite arguably the fastest,” Science says. “Yeah Ink,” Outer said, patting my back. “But then the other team is going to be after me!” I groaned. “Oh yeah! So when is the fight supposed to be?” Goth asked. “Word spreads fast huh…” I said. “Yeah. Everyone knows about the fight. So, when is it?” Geno said. “I don’t know…he’s probably gonna get me when I least expect it,” I said with a sigh. “Bro, maybe we should make Ink offense.” Fresh suggested. They nodded. “So Ink, you stay near the basketball goal and only shoot when the ball is passed to you. So then Nightmare and his gang would have no reason to go after you.” Science said. I let out a sigh of relief. Maybe everything was going to be okay. We made our formation decisions in time before the coach blew the whistle. “Alright. Play by the rules. And no major harm to the other players if you will.” he said, grabbing the basketball. “Ready? Set? PLAY!” he said before throwing the ball in the air.

I went over to the goal and stayed there. Why was Horror coming right for me? “HORROR GO AWAY!” I screeched. He tackled me to the ground and bit into my shoulder. That cannibal! I screamed loudly, causing the coach to blow his whistle. “HORROR!” he said, coming over and pulling him off me. Man was he like a dog! He bit most of the bone of my shoulder off and I couldn’t move it. It felt like my arm was going to fall off. “O-ow…” I groaned. “I’ll call an ambulance.” the coach said pulling out his phone. “Tch,” Nightmare said looking at me triumphantly. “N-no, I’ll be fine…” I groaned, sitting up. Outer crouched next to me. “Ink! What are you doing? This is your escape route!” he said to me. I didn’t want to give up so easily! It would just show how weak I was! “I’m f-fine…i-it’ll heal…” I muttered getting up. Outer sighed. “Okay…so I guess we can continue.” the coach said. Nightmare smirked and walked back to the other side. I sighed. The coach got the ball and threw it again. I went back towards the goal and stayed in position, being alert. This time, I could see Killer coming my way. “Not this time…” I muttered and moved out of the way. My arm hurt really bad but I ignored the pain. Killer growled and literally threw a punch at me. I didn’t expect it so he hit me right in the jaw! It hurt so bad. He punched me so hard that I fell to the ground. The coach blew the whistle again and sent Killer to the principal’s office. He decided to send Horror there as well. “Ink, you really need to stop. You are going to get yourself killed.” Outer said. My jaw felt knocked out of place. I tried to snap it back but it only hurt more so I stopped. I tried to talk but it hurt. “Ink, you should at least go to the nurse.” the coach said. I shook my head. “Broski,” Fresh said. “Ink, why are you still going? You really might get yourself killed.” Science said. I wasn’t going out like this. I shook my head and stood up. I looked towards Nightmare. “Well, you haven’t given up yet. Woah. Can’t say I’m surprised Thompson.” he said with a laugh. I narrowed my eyes on him. “Yo bro, something is about to go down…” Fresh said. “Ink? What are you doing?” Outer asked, looking at me. I went through my vials and got out the red one. “Ink, stop!” Outer called out to me. I chugged down the vial as best as I could. My jaw snapped back into place. “Yo, broski did not just take the red vial,” Fresh said, backing up. “Ink, you know you’re not supposed to use those. They are only for desperate times.” the coach said
