Mark took a peek. On the stretcher, which had the distinctive black body bag placed on top, were members of the emergency medical services team. With some effort, he was able to unzip it just enough to have a glimpse inside after sprinting over there and snatching the zipper. His own pale and ashen visage might be seen in the sack, peering up at him from inside.
His feet were about to slide out from under him when the guy in black grabbed him and helped him back up onto his feet.
"Are you happy now?" the guy inquired. In the man's statements, Mark detected a sympathetic sarcasm, if such a thing could be described as such.
“No. In no way, shape, or form. I don't want to go to my grave. My to-do list was still long, with locations to see and people to meet."
"I understand your strategy. It's not His. "I'm here to make sure you stay on His timetable."
"You're...," the narrator says.
“Yes.” Mark didn't have time to say anything further before the guy responded. "Yes, I am. Death. Let's assume we go for a short stroll. "Now that you've crossed over to this side of the barrier, I'll be able to tell you a few secrets."
Mark was still in a state of shock. He had no notion what to say in response. The guy gently grasped his arm and moved him back in the direction he had come from, before beginning to guide them slowly down the street as they approached.
I'm sure you're aware of the fact that I'm...
“Yes. "I have no doubt."
"And there isn't any turning back?"
If the Crow says you can, and he brings you back, then you can. However, it is only under really difficult circumstances, and it is just a temporary reprieve. "It's a lengthy and significantly different narrative."
"All right, then tell me about it. "It seems like I have the luxury of time right now." They were walking into the darkness when Mark's voice became shaky and his words trailed off. Mark, on the other hand, was not scared. He simply continued placing one foot behind the other, the two of them slowly dissipating in the dim light of the streetlights behind him.
