A young girl, who looked about seven, stood balanced on the highest branch of a tree. She stood looking out over the vast forest that is her home. Her long dirty white blonde hair fell down to her knees, she had some pulled over her right eye, hiding it from sight. She lifted her bow and notched an arrow, she pulled it back as she took aim at a buck forty yards away. She let the arrow fly and then immediately started down the tree without waiting to see if she had even hit the buck. While on her way to the buck, she ran into Jacob and Michael, "I got a buck, glad I ran into you guys or it would have taken a while to get it home." The girl said, confident that she had hit it.
"Aria, that's amazing." Jacob said. "But didn't we tell you that you didn't need to help with hunting?"
"Jacob, leave her be. She can help if she wants to." Michael said smiling and affectionately ruffled Aria's hair.
"She's a child she should be playing like all the other children." Jacob grumbled. "Kids should be kids and leave the adult things to the adults." Aria sighed and rolled her eyes, then tugged Michaels sleeve and just shook her head, Michael sighed and nodded. They continued walking for a few miles. "Where is this buck you said you got?"
"About two more yards away." Aria answered. Jacob stopped and stared at her in disbelief.
"Yea ok, whatever." Jacob said, the annoyance in his voice evident in his every word. "Sorry Michael but I'm gonna go get some real food."
"I'm sorry Aria." Michael said after Jacob was out of earshot.
"It's ok." Aria said. "He just joined our pack and he's new enough to not be trusted to know anything about me."
"I still remember hearing about the day my grandfather brought you back." Michael said.
"Yes, they told me the story many times." Aria said, touching her shoulder, the mark of her identity hidden under the cloth wrapped around her shoulders and chest. "Michael, really it's OK." The sadness in her voice could make even the toughest man want to cry.
"If you say so." Michael sighed. "But at this rate he won't ever be told any of our pack's secrets."
"That's fine then, I personally don't trust him much anyway." Aria said.
Aria and Michael soon reached the buck, it lay dead with her arrow sticking out from its heart. Michael smiled knowing that Aria had probably shot the arrow at it miles and miles before she had even ran into him and Jacob. He lifted the buck up over his shoulders and the two headed back to the rest of the pack. Aria had always been very good with a bow and arrow, and her sight was even better than anyone else's in the pack. For as long as Michael could remember she had always helped them find things or helped gather food, she seemed to have a knack for being able to find any living being. But that could be due to her secret.

Aria woke early in the morning as she always dones, she grabbed her clothes for the day and headed to the small pond near her home. This pond was hers and hers alone, no one else was allowed to go near it. It helped that her home was set near the Alphas home, in fact it was just behind the Alphas home. Which means that no one could go near it anyway, as the space around and behind the Alphas home is meant for the Alpha's mate.
Aria quickly undressed and bathed. Once clean she dried herself and started dressing, first wrapping a cloth loosely around her shoulders and chest. Making sure to cover the mark on her shoulder with it, and her right eye with her hair. These are things she's been told to keep hidden from the others. Only a few people in the pack knew of her true origins, The Alphas and their mates, and the Alphas warriors. She was grateful for the people of this pack, if it wasn't for them she surely would be dead by now.
Once she was fully clothed, she headed out for the day to do her hunting. She wished that she could practice what else she could do, but not knowing anything about who her parents are made it hard to know what she could do, and no one knowing anyone from her parents race made it even harder. Especially when one half of her race hasn't even been seen in a thousand years. Though she has been told what they were, no one really knows anymore what they were capable of. Only other long living races would remember and know.
While going about her day a scent that she didn't recognize caught her attention, she could tell by the scent that they weren't nearby yet, but that they were headed in her direction. She quickly climbed the tree nearest to her. They soon came into view, their scent was strange, it was something she has never smelled before, but also something that seemed oddly familiar.
"Do you think it's true?" She heard one man ask as the men passed below her.
"I don't know." Another said. "I would highly doubt it."
"Yea, nothing could live that long without someone taking care of it." Said yet another man in the four man group.
"Yea, there's no way that it could be true." Said the first man who had spoken. "It's been what three thousand years or so." The fourth man didn't speak at all, he was quiet and just observed his surroundings. Aria was grateful for her other gift, she could hide herself completely from anyone, and not even the best tracker could find her, even if they followed her trail. They could be standing right next to her and not even see her.
Aria waited long enough for them to pass and their scent to fade before she climbed down the tree. She had only walked a few miles when she suddenly heard a soft mewling sound in the distance and headed towards it. Soon she came upon a large mud puddle, and there in the center was a small creature with bright blue and green eyes. Aria stared down at it for a few seconds before she stepped into the mud and bent down and picked it up, she then headed to a small river that was nearby to clean it, and herself.
The small creature struggled some as they got closer to the river but Aria was able to calm it down enough to be able to wash the mud out of its fur. It seemed to be some kind of cat or something. It had pure silvery white fur and now that it was clean it's eyes looked even brighter. Aria wondered to herself who this could be and why they were in the forest.
She decided to take him with her, while she went about her day, maybe she would find whomever he was with. As she continued on the way to her usual hunting spot, she came upon a boy who looked a few years older than her. He seemed to be in some kind of trouble. He kept frantically looking around, so she stopped to see if she could help. "Do you need help?" Aria asked.
"Ah, yes, yes I do." he said absentmindedly while still looking around.
"What are you looking for?" Aria asked.
"Probably a kitten." He replied, still not really paying attention. Aria thought for a moment that what he had said was a little strange, but then she remembered the small cat-like creature that she had found.
"Would it be this kitty?" Aria asked, holding the little silver-white kitty towards the boy. He finally actually looked at her, and then noticed the creature in her hands.
"Ah! Yes! Alairus there you are." He said and took the kitty-like creature from her. "Thank you, thank you. Where did you find him?"
"He was stuck in some mud a few miles back. I got him out and cleaned him up." Aria said.
"Thank you for keeping him safe." He said, and pulled a medallion from his bag that had a cat face on its front and the back had some sort of design. "If you ever need anything, come to the Capitol and show this to any guard." The boy then walked away. Aria stood and watched the strange boy who smelled of blood as he walked away. The only reason she let him take the creature was because it willingly went to him.
The days following Aria ran into the small cat-like creature and the boy who accompanied him. She would randomly find them somewhere in the woods or she would find just the cat-like creature and take him to the boy. She didn't really think of the whys, but as time went on she started to spend more time with them and enjoyed being around people she didn't really need to fully hide from. There was one day she had found the cat-like creature stuck in mud again, while cleaning him the mark on her shoulder had gotten exposed. She noticed him looking at it before she used her hair to hide it once again.
