Peridot, please.
Please say something.
Oh wait! I can see your camera now… What happened?
PERIDOT:
I killed that thing.
DELTA:
What? You killed it?
PERIDOT:
Yeah… I…
Sorry, it’s just,
It really hurts.
DELTA:
Oh my god, Peridot, you’re bleeding light.
PERIDOT:
I can see that.
I don't think I have much longer.
DELTA:
No, no I won’t let you disconnect, where is everyone?
PERIDOT:
They’re in the southeast corner, they’re following Bat.
They’ll be free soon.
DELTA:
No
Nononono
No
No
I will not let you disconnect.
Get up.
PERIDOT:
I’m good…
DELTA:
GET UP!
PERIDOT:
OW! Don't move my legs, I’m not getting up, even if I wanted to.
My legs are busted.
DELTA:
What? So you’re just going to sit there and disconnect?
PERIDOT:
Yeah, pretty much.
DELTA:
GOD DAMMIT PERIDOT!
Get up! What is wrong with you?
PERIDOT:
Nothing, I’m fine.
I think this is the first time where I felt fine.
All of that anger bottling up.
Finally out of me.
I’m happy now.
If that thing was still alive, it would’ve disconnected all of the Aerogels.
DELTA:
You’re happy?
Are you saying that you want to die now?
PERIDOT:
Of course I don’t want to die.
Nobody would ever want to disconnect.
But I’m fine with allowing myself to go as long as those Aerogels get out of here before the Heptacents attack.
Can you do me a favor and tell me how close they are to the exit?
DELTA:
O-okay.
They’re halfway there.
And the nearest Heptecents aren’t anywhere near the exit.
PERIDOT:
Good.
I’ll be going soon.
I might accidentally shut off before sending one of these messages.
But I just want to write some stuff down in my journal before I go.
DELTA:
Okay.
Could I read it?
PERIDOT:
Yeah, I'll grab the printer off of my backpack so you can see it.
DELTA:
I don't know what to say right now, it's just, I think you could still have a chance if I ask someone else for help.
PERIDOT:
They wouldn't reach in time, it's okay.
I think it would be a good time to say this, because I don't have much time left...
I love you too, Delta.
DELTA:
God dammit Peridot!
You're just making this hurt more.
Can't I just get help?
PERIDOT:
You know what I'm going to say.
FINAL ENTRY:
This is going to be my last entry before I shut off and disconnect.
It has been a long journey, one that for some time I thought wouldn’t end, but of course that was incorrect.
There were many moments in the span of my existence where I thought I would disconnect.
When I was in the southeast corner.
When I almost got crushed by a giant rolling pin that was a part of the factory.
…Right now, when I killed that centipede-like robot, but at a cost.
That battle happened for a while, a full hour. I think it was the longest battle that has ever happened in this factory.
I remember climbing up it, over and over, while falling off over and over, just to climb up it once more.
When I finally killed it, I felt like I saved the factory from its destruction. Like I sacrificed myself for the good of the others.
I hope that the Aerogels live on, that they explore the planet and see the world from their own lens.
I hope that maybe, just maybe the Heptacents have enough of a heart to not block off the exit and leave everyone else here to suffer.
I hope that Delta... you, keep being yourself, keep being the good person that has helped me understand myself.
I hope that someone, just someone will find this journal and use it to help everyone else that is trapped in here.
There’s a lot that I hope for.
Those are just some of them.
I’m frankly surprised that I haven’t disconnected yet, and I’m glad I got to write my final thoughts dow
