Fifteen years passed by in his home alone as a slave in the Qinglianpai Sect. Lian Yue Xia had become an obedient young man that wouldn’t even step out of line, from fear of being beaten to death.
Yet secretly he stole books to read and practice marital arts, slowly he cultivated his skills, enhancing his inner strength. Yet Lian Yue Xia stayed quiet as a mouse, to keep the memory of his grandmother alive always reiterating the last story she told him to himself. He cleaned, cooked, did laundry, and even would prepare medicine when it was needed.
“Hey blind man did you remember to put those bandages around your eyes.” An inner disciple knocked Lian Yue Xia over to look down on him. Lian Yue Xia was surrounded by them, the only thing he could do was stay put because he refused to fight them for his own safety. Lian Yue Xia nodded to the disciple and placed his hand on his covered eyes.
“You know your pretty quiet are you a mute or what?” Another pulled on his hair getting him to grunt a little. Only silence was given to them since he didn’t want to defy the Sect leader Xue Guanting, thus he refused to say a word. Which resulted in a swift but hard enough to make him winded. Gasping he curled up to circle his inner energy to help stop the pain. The Sect leader of Qinglianpai watched from afar, even laughed before another notified of a failing seal. A frown appeared on the Sect leaders face, but then a grin spread across his face.
“Tomorrow we will use the proper offering to seal that monster away for another thousand or so years. If only my mother didn’t take him in, she would still be alive to this day. What did you see in that boy mother?” He asked himself as watched the group of disciples torment the child his mother had left him to care for in her stead.
“Give him fifty lashing he has been stealing and that will assure he can’t escape for the seal repair.” He said leaving to handle the preparations of the Seal Repair as he wanted this to be as painful as he could get it.
Two disciplinary disciples went to drag Lian Yue Xia from the group of people to give his punishment. Lian Yue Xia cried out loud as this was the first time such a harsh punishment was given to him in the form of lashing. The first five lashes he really tried to keep himself from yelling but the sixth one that struck his skin causing the once ashen skin to break open and soak his grey clothes. Afterwards Lian Yue Xia walked by himself to his little cottage only to find the door broken and those Inner disciples in his home the place he was safe in.
“Look at this painting isn’t this that monster god and the betrayer in the stories the Sect leaders mother use to tell.” They had taken the painting off the wall, which Lian Yue Xia saw. He was sweating from the pain but as he watched them his blood ran cold.
“That woman was just mad. Always talking about how these two weren’t bad people. Ha-ha what a crazy bitch” it was an older woman’s voice that laughed, it made his blood run cold as it was the Sect leaders Wife in the cottage.
“That madwomen also picked up that bad omen who has been cleaning our home. What child has white hair from birth. Not even that his eyes look as if he were blind no wonder Sect Leader makes him wear bandages them. Such a disgusting child I wish he would just die!” The Sect leader’s wife’s voice was full of venom and pure hatred.
“That woman deserved what happened to her. Destroy this place and rip that apart. Make sure there is nothing of that woman in here.” She walked out of the cottage to see Lian Yue Xia whose already pale face was paling even more because of the smile on her face.
Something on the inside just snapped in him as he took off the bandages.
The leader’s wife was pushed away from the door, so she didn’t get hurt as the inner disciples that were in the cottage were thrown out. The painting was in Lian Yue Xia hands being rolled up and placed in his sleeves.
“Don’t touch my grandmothers’ memento.” It was the first time in 15 years that Lian Yue Xia had spoken, however it sent a shiver down the Sect leaders’ wife. His voice was smooth and very soft but was elegantly demanding of the people around him.
Staring at him for a
moment in shock before the embarrassment of being thrown by the weakest of the
sect members got to them. The disciples were strong enough to take down a demonic
commander without their sect leader, but to tossed by someone with no internal
energy was impossible.
“How dare you lay a hand on us. Don’t you know what will happen to you. it's impossible that you could do such a thing… Unless you’ve been training secretly.” The one that said this was taller than Lian Yue Xia, this was the next Sect leader Qing Dabai, even if he was the next in line of the leader his attitude wasn’t that of a leader. He was more like a wild beast and always fought with anyone who would be willing to, though that wasn’t many because Qing Dabai always hurt them badly.
Lian Yue Xia and Qing Dabai stared at each other, one was angry that his only place of peace was violated the other was just looking for a fight. Both were ready to fight but neither would act first as if they were trying to measure strength between each other. Lian Yue Xia was standing in front of the door to his little cabin to keep them from going into it. Qing Dabai was angry, but he was looking forward to fighting Lian Yue Xia.
“Lian Wujin-Ai what do you think you are doing.” The voice was cold and uncaring, laced with held back anger.
The voice made Lian Yue Xia freeze and start shacking as the fear sank into him, he slowly covered his eyes back up with the bandages, but he didn’t move.
“Lian Wujin-Ai, I asked you a question. Do I need to have you whipped again? Perhaps I should just chain you up instead as you have disobeyed me.” Qing Dabai turned to see the Sect leader was watching from some trees, but what shocked him a bit was Lian Yuexia was whipped and still managed to toss everyone out of his home to protect something so minuscule. Lian Yue Xia looked like a cowering dog with its tail tucked between his legs, as he trembled from the Sect leader’s stare.
“I-i-I was protecting to my precious gift from….” Lian Yuexia voice that was once commanding had now become as quiet as a mouse. The Sect leader slammed his fist against a tree, causing the already frightened mouse to flinch.
“Bring me the whip and the preparations are to be done tonight.” The group of inner disciples had been watching off on the side.
“Darling, you don’t have to do that, there is no need to whip him for being rude.” The Sect leader's wife tried to calm him down but there was nothing to calm him. “No no we should see how he progressed secretly in his cultivation first. Then you can whip him until you heart is content.” There was a venomous light in her eyes as she stared at Lian Yuexia. The whip was delivered to the sect leader, but a nod gave her confirmation to proceed. Lian Yuexia turned to the other disciples before he closed the door to his home.
“What would you like me to do Madam?” placing his hands behind his back Lian Yuexia as if to help him stand up straight. The Sect leader’s wife snapped her fingers to alert two disciples to grab him then they started walking towards a temple that was well maintained. Yet on the way there the amount of people got less and less.
There was a reason why as the temple is said to seal away the most powerful and dangerous god that was known, being the god the first demonic god Qinglong. Thus no one wanted to be there for the fear of being corrupted by the demonic energy, only those who were cultivation was at their peak could visit the temple.
It took about a joss sticks time to reach the courtyard of the temple where inscriptions were carved on the stone floor. In front of the sealed door sat a ball of jade on a pedestal, a horrible feeling stirred in Lian Yuexia when they walked past the middle of the courtyard. Maybe it was because there were loose chains on the ground and scorch marks or perhaps it was because he could feel the darkness that resides behind the sealed door. The Madam stopped in front of the jade ball which made the two disciples throw Lian Yuexia in front of it. Lian Yuexia raised his head up to get a sense of what to do.
“Just touch this jade ball here. It measures how pure one’s qi is. Since you have been practicing secretly, we might as well see how impure you are. Such a bad omen can’t have pure if you do then it's perfect for our Sect leader, he won’t have to go through the trouble of getting you here.” She bent down and patted Lian Yuexia’s arm. The grin on her face made him shiver slightly, but he got up struggling slightly as his back was already in pain.
Taking a deep breath Lian Yuexia wasn’t sure about putting his hand on the ball but if he didn’t do it there was this feeling that he would be whipped even more.
Thus, after a moment's hesitation he set his hand on the ball. There was nothing for a moment as a laugh came from the Sect leader’s wife. “See he isn’t pure at all. You should have died when born you trash.” She laughed at Lian Yuexia before the ball started to flicker then into a full light.
