Love’s face went red as he spluttered out noises, I can hear his heart beating a million miles a minute and wondered if he should sit down to have a cup of tea before we leave. “Do you even know what that means?!” he finally got out.

“You didn’t get the talk yet, have you? Alright, when two wolves-”

“Shush! Shh!” I couldn’t help but laugh.

“You’re older than me, why are you the one embarrassed?”

“What do you really know about mating?”

“We’ll find out when we get there, besides I’ll save you when it gets too traumatizing.”

“You have become the Alpha of this relationship,” we walked down the stairs from the apartments in the Omega District towards the main hall for the Doctor near the Alpha Den. As we neared I sensed that Love was reliving some unpleasant memories, I know my purrs sounded rusty but he doesn’t seem to mind and relaxed at hearing me.

A ruckus sounded in one of the rooms and two wolves tumbled out breaking the door in their battle, Love growled defensively while I ignored them.

“What did you say Alpha! Don’t growl at our Leader!” a Beta by the looks of it growled at Love.

“Step down or feel my teeth,” I turned to the Beta growling. Love stuck real close to me, almost clinging, the fear Love was giving off only riled the offensive wolves.

“What’s an Omega going to do about it!” an Alpha stepped up now beside the Beta.

“Delta, let’s go,” Love said quickly pulling me gently by the sleeve. It’s irritating how he’s not calling me Sliver Moon. “Please Delta,” Love was pulling more now, “Silver Moon!”

“Walk in front of me,” I instructed and Love did so, I can see him shaking. Love really doesn’t like violence, it never really occurred to me to ask why. I felt something grab a hold of my leg, on instinct I shifted and started to attack the Beta that tried to trip me.

“Delta Angel! Attention!” I heard a commanding voice and stopped lifting my head, looking forward, not moving and my ears forward tail down. “When someone addresses someone else as Delta, do not provoke said wolf! You are only asking for death! Release and follow Omega Love’s scent to the room.” I let go of the Alpha’s scruff, stepped off of the Beta and did as was directed of me to do. Love was scared but I can’t let my guard down until I’m in the secure room. I shifted back, the uniform I always have on under my clothes was now revealed. It was specially made for Delta’s as armour, it shifts with us going between our fur, anyone wearing this must be treated with the utmost respect as we are the soldiers on the front line. I heard whimpering in the farthest room and entered with a purr closing the door behind me and not turning on the lights.

“Silver Moon?”

“Yes, it’s me. I’m sorry,” I went to his corner of the room keeping my distance until Love said I could enter his space. He lifted his head from his crouched position and looked at me, his shaking has not stopped ever since we entered this side of the warehouse. “I am sorry I lost my temper,” I said softly, “I am trying not to show this side of me when you are round, I really am.”

Love nodded and held his arms out to me, I crawled in and held his head close as he hugged me. I purred trying to soothe him and petting his head to ease him. After a few minutes, we crawled out and stepped out of the examining room. The hall was clear of the three Alpha’s and Beta, just the one who stopped me from killing those idiots was waiting for us by the door.

“Delta Angel, Omega Love follow me,” he instructed. Love told me that the Alpha’s and Delta’s use first names with each other for familiarity, while the Omega’s have their last name’s said out of respect. I would have been called Omega Crowther or Elite Omega Crowther. I asked Elite Omega Justice Nighy about this change. It was usually the Alpha’s and Delta’s that had their last names said while the Omega’s and Elite Omega’s had their first names said in his time. I asked Love why I’m always referred to as Alpha or Delta when I stated I’m an Omega when I found my wolf. He just told me that I’m respected by the pack because of my Alpha’s strength and that was how they saw me. It’s an honour to be called Alpha or Delta but it still feels off, maybe I should start correcting it? ‘Not until you’ve been named Elite Omega Angel Justice by the Alpha,’ my wolf cautioned.

The man sat us down in an office-like room and looked at both of us, he wore a white long jacket, grey shirt, jeans, black and white running shoes, the plate said ‘Dr. D. Sparrow’, his black hair was short, he had brown eyes, thin frame glasses, and seemed to be in his late 20’s. “I am Dr. Sparrow. Delta Angel, it seems you are the Alpha of the relationship.”

“It just happened that way, I’m an Omega with Alpha Training.”

“Ah, so Omega Love?”

“I’m an Alpha wanting to be an Omega,” Love said timidly.

“I understand but keeping your Alpha in check during the mating season must be a task for you Omega Love. Especially with an inexperienced Omega around.”

“We started scenting each other a month after mating season,” Love said his face red.

“Yes, the Rouge Attack. Delta Angel lead the pack and returned with minor injuries to the pack. I can see why you wanted to claim him immediately, many had their eyes on your Alpha.” Sparrow said glancing between us and the paper he was now writing on.

“I- I liked him before the attack. After hearing the returned Alpha’s talking about mating with him I- I couldn’t uhm... let it happen.”

“The Alpha who claims to never find a mate has found a mate. Delta Angel, what is your take on this?”

“I still find it odd that he wants me as a mate even if I might not love him in the end.”

“I’ve heard rumours that you want to be an Elite Omega. Have you two discussed this already?”

“Yes, he said he’ll try until he’s of age to mark. If not then we will go our separate ways...”

“I still think you should find someone your age,” Love growled at me, “as I’ve said before, it feels like I’m torturing you. ‘You’re not torturing me!’ and blah blah blah,” I cut in before Love could protest. We’ve had that argument at least once a month. “For someone despising violence, you sure ruffle your fur when wanting to stay with me. It seems that no matter where I go I’m getting into fights.”

“Because you’re mine!” Love growled looking at me.

“A normal Omega would be quivering right now Omega Love, you are lucky that Delta Angel is practically immune to your dominating pheromones.” Love looked surprised and shrank down instantly.

“Are you sure this is what you want?” I asked Love.

“Silver Moon there is nothing I want more,” he sounded defeated.

“Ok, I’ll stop.” I looked at the man and nodded for him to proceed. There was no more need to continue this argument, I feel exhausted trying to fight back, he must feel worse trying to hold onto a breakable string and hope that it will hold.

“Hm,” the man watched us patiently as we sorted ourselves out, “Omega Love, you might have forgotten but Delta Angel has been with Alpha’s his whole life and now he’s with Delta’s. That’s a cold and lonely cage to be in.” Unconsciously I growled at him to mind his own business, “Alright then, Delta Angel how much do you show affection towards Omega Love?”

“A lot!” Love answered quickly with enthusiasm, “I love getting pats from him especially when he runs his hands through my hair... ah.”

“Do you show the same back to him Omega Love?” he was about to answer but stopped short. “Despite his rank, he is still a child, being tossed out of a loving environment and put into a war zone immediately is no way for a child to grow up. Yet, he’s here, some scars visible and some not. He may act your age Omega Love, maybe older but don’t forget how that came to be.”

It felt like I couldn’t look at either of them so I just looked at the wall away from them, I can’t let my emotions run me. I’m doing this for the safety of my pack, to make sure that they have no worries outside of the den.

“Affection, Reassurance and Purpose are what Delta Angel needs. It seems all your needs are met Omega Love, you are doing a fine job with your Omega Delta Angel. You put Omega Love first, you give him affection, you are there for him when he needs and offer protection when you feel it is not safe. That fight told me many things about your relationship with each other, by the way how is that bite on your shoulder? It must be stinging by now.” The fact that Sparrow can know my injuries without looking means that he used to be a Delta Medic. All wolf medics are Delta’s they know what happens to a wolf in the Delta Cave and are more experienced in healing those injuries. Being a Doctor they have to go to College or University for that type of training.

“Negative, they have not broken my armour-”

“That armour can only do so much for you right now, you must be getting a nasty bruise by now. How long have you been keeping your wounds a secret? Since the Rouge attack, I am guessing. Delta training is a lot more brutal since you can not keep the armour on, then again during Delta training you are being taught to kill. If I had not stepped in, would you have killed those Alpha’s?” I nodded not bothering to look at them everything he is saying is true. “Hm, Omega Love, the sun and moon do not rise together but still work together to create a beautiful world. The moon has been up for far too long don’t you think?”

I can sense Love’s mental distress, I didn’t realize I was purring until Love hugged me which caused me to stop. Sparrow noted it down on his paper and waited for us to settle before moving on to the main topic.

“Apologies, I assess the initial relationship between two pairs. It gives me an idea of where you are, since you two have only scented each other it tells me how patient Omega Love is. Delta Angel, you have not gone through your first heat yet, you have 2-4 years before you have one. That is enough time to get you ready for your First Season, you are immune to pheromones because you’ve first tasted blood before Your Season. Very few Omega’s have gone through what you went through but it is not impossible. There’s an Omega in the Alpha Den working as a trainer for Female Alpha’s even though Omega Young is not as respected as you Delta Angel. She worked just as hard as you but couldn’t change much about her situation. I would suggest meeting her afterwards.

“Your First Season will be difficult it is not recommended for you two to see each other until your First Season has passed. The Heat Valley will allow your mate’s scent to be passed between you two but unless we know how that will go we will not have that for you. Omega Love, I only say this because we do not know how you will react to your first mate. It’s a precaution that must be taken with all new pairs you know this.” I heard Love shift and I recognized it as ‘I’m uncomfortable’ his earlier growl was also saying that ‘I’m not leaving'.

“If we put him in a different room but still close by that will satisfy him,” I say hoping to calm Love down a bit. The relaxed air he was giving off says that I was right and he would like that.

“Delta Angel, I know it’s hard but please refrain from speaking about compromises. You should allow Omega Love to suggest things from now on. Omega Love stop. Growling about everything won’t get you what you want every time, let your Alpha rest. He’s exhausted, he’s hurt, he must also feel like he can’t trust you because you don’t recognize these things about your Alpha.”

“Of course I... do.”

“What is Delta Angel’s posture tell you then?” Dr. Sparrow asked. The room was silent for a long while, the sting in my side was starting to finally act up so I shifted a bit to not put any more pressure on it. “Nothing? Nothing at all? Delta Angel can tell what you are feeling without even looking at you but you don’t know what he’s thinking when you look at him? Delta Angel is not fully invested in this relationship yet he knows you. Whereas you want this relationship to work but you don’t even know when your Alpha’s in pain? I’ve been waiting for you to tell me to look at him after I mentioned the bite.”

“Dr. Sparrow-”

“No, Delta Angel. In a relationship, the Omega has first say, not the Alpha. If you want me to look at you I’m going to have to hear it from the Omega first.”

“It is starting to sting,” I say but Dr. Sparrow only nodded but ignored me. Beside me I can feel Love starting to shift uncomfortably again, I kept in mind what the Doctor said and remained silent. “Should I make the wound bigger? Would you suggest I be looked at then?” I asked taking out my Delta’s Survival knife and holding it close to my side where I was bit. Love’s trembling hands suddenly held the knife preventing my hand from further injuring myself. “Dr. Sparrow, it’s no use. Let’s just continue with the conversation, I’m sure I’ll live until I get back to my room so I can patch myself up.” Love held my hand tighter in horror.

“Ha- have you always treated your own wounds?” Love finally asked.

“Who else would treat them if I don’t?” I twisted my hand from his and sheathed the knife and took off the top armour to show my scarred skin. I noticed a dark patch on my side and the faint sheen of blood, guess that Alpha pierced the armour after all. “I’ll need to wash it and use some ointment for overnight healing,” I muttered.

“He wouldn’t have needed to wash or use ointment if you had suggested I look at it earlier, Omega Love. I understand that you were born an Alpha Omega Love but if you want to be an Omega you’ll have to behave like one. Omega’s are conscious of their mates well being, it comes naturally to Delta Angel because he was already aware of you even if he doesn’t notice it. Omega’s have more power over Alpha’s it’s important you know this as well. As an Omega, you hold Delta Angel’s life in your paws. He’s your protector, provider and friend. Shouldn’t you look after him after a battle? He’s an Alpha, he’s not going to say he’s hurting so you have to be his voice.” Love was quiet again looking like he was slapped or rejected a tasty treat. “When Delta Angel mentioned that his side was starting to sting that was a test to see if he could actually trust you. As horrible as it might sound your silence told him that he won’t come to you when he’s hurt he’ll either keep it to himself or mend himself when no one notices. That is the way Alpha’s are. You made him the Alpha of the relationship even though he’s presented as an Omega, he’ll be the Alpha. Meaning he’ll do everything that an Alpha is meant to do.”

“Dr. Sparrow... can you look at Silver Moon, please...” Love sounded like he was about to cry.

“It will take much more to build that trust back up again, I hope you know this Omega Love.”
