I swear I can literally drill holes in this asshole's head with my stares right now. I was fucking annoyed that my peaceful day was ruined by this guy.
The best part? *note my sarcasm* He was staring back at me with those guarded dark brown eyes. Still without a shirt and with just a towel around his waist. We sat across each other, arms folded on the sofa set.
Yes, he is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous if you asked me, but under these kinds of circumstances, I felt no attraction to him at all whatsoever.
I think.
His face was kinda scrunched up because of me kicking him but he refused to acknowledge the pain and his ego was too big to admit.
My bell rang, my Secretary signalling that he was at the gates. It was his way of letting me know he was coming in.
Mr Tall, Muscular and Handsome tore his eyes from mine and stood up to check who was outside but I cleared my throat, "Sit down."
"There's someone at the door Lady," he grunted and I nearly wanted to raise my voice at him again but the door opened. He looked up, clearly surprised that someone let themselves in.
My Secretary and another man stepped in. Both looking professional in their suits and my Secretary quickly strode over to me, "I'm sorry about this mix-up Miss, let me introduce you."
He gestured to the half-naked man, "This is Mr Jones, Caden Jones. Vice President of W.J. Architects." He then continued on to the smart-looking man that came in with him, "This is Mr Smith, Mr Jones' Secretary."
I shook his hand and Caden there just rolled his eyes. "Gentlemen this is Miss Rose, Cassidy Rose. President of Flair Hotels and Resorts." Finally, he cleared his throat, "And I am Parker, you can address me as Mr Parker. I am Miss Rose's Personal Assistant and Secretary."
Caden scoffed, "Okay fuck the formalities, Smith can you just get this shit here settled. I come home to this hell hole where everything is not what I wanted and the next moment this chick here shows up in my room after I come out from the showe-"
"Mr Jones, this is not your house," his Secretary stated bluntly.
"Yeah tell them- Wait what?"
"Sir, this house belongs to Miss Rose."
I didn't want to be cocky about it but I'm an idiot sometimes. "Told you so."
His eyes shot through mine and red crept up his cheeks. He was already embarrassed enough and I had to say that. It was his fault for calling me a slut anyway.
I looked away, completely conscious that I was being totally childish, "Parker, what's the issue?" Both secretaries whipped out files and handed it to us.
"There was a mix up with the documents. Mr Jones is supposed to occupy the house on the other side of this estate."
"On the other side of the estate? I live on a freaking hill Parker."
"Yes Miss I know, Mr Jones was the one that bought the other only unit."
Mr Idiot chuckled and I glared at him.
I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead, "Yeah okay fine, so what now? How long will it take to settle this?"
The two secretaries looked at one another and I looked between them, something was definitely up.
"Smith I swear-" Caden started but his Secretary gave him a look that shut him up.
"I'm sorry Miss Rose, but Mr Jones was supposed to move in by the end of this week to his new house. Apparently, his house isn't fully furnished and he can't move in right now," his Secretary started but it sounded a bit off.
"Yeah okay so?" I looked back at my Secretary.
He watched me with nervous eyes and I motioned with my hands, "Uh huh so?"
He cleared his throat, "Miss, Mr Jones will stay with you till his house is ready."
My jaw dropped and I could feel Caden look at me with a shocked expression on his face.
"Wait wait no one is going to ask me for my opinion?!" Caden yelled and his Secretary cringed, "Sir I told you not to move in yet because your house isn't ready. You forced your way through and now look where we are?"
His Secretary looked like he was sick and tired of whatever Caden had put him through and I kind of pitied him.
"Parker, what do I gain from letting this guy stay with me?" I'm one of the best hoteliers around but that doesn't mean I have to let a random guy stay with me. Plus, I'm also a businesswoman and I need to have something in return.
Caden chuckled, "Having me around should already be enough as payment."
I sighed and looked at my Secretary, "Come on Parker, give me a damn good reason to house this jerk."
Smith shut Caden up before he could say more shit and my Secretary looked at me apologetically, "The Children's Foundation Miss, Mr Jones' father is one of the Main Sponsors and he is planning to build schools for the children absolutely for free."
I knew where this was going and it scared the hell out of me. "So I have to house this guy for what now? His father has signed all the paperwork, he can't back out just because I don't want to take his son in."
"Well apparently other smaller companies are having trouble wanting to invest and sponsor because of the rumours."
"Rumours?"
"About you and the guy you've been hanging out with."
"Parker you know he's just my distant cousin."
"I know that but others don't. The smaller sponsors are scared of coming in because of those rumours and even W.J. is having second thoughts. You know about the clause Miss, if your reputation is under fire, they have every right to pull out."
I was so pissed off and angry that people would believe shit without even clarifying with the main person involved. ME.
"So I have to take him in? That's it? To stop the rumours? How does that work?"
"You have to pretend to be in a relationship, for both Mr Jones and your reputation." He quickly spoke so he could get it done and over with.
But damn, it felt like my whole world was collapsing around me.
"What?!" I didn't even realise that sound came from me until it echoed off into the huge living room.
It was then I realised Smith had already dragged Caden away to talk to him separately.
"You have to Miss, you have to clear your reputation. Mr Jones' father doesn't know anything about this arrangement yet. His ties with his father are strained. Hopefully, this will build a better bond not just for them but also for the sponsors."
I sighed really loudly and I could hear Caden yelling in another room but it was clearly not going to help.
As much as it was a lose-lose situation for both of us, it was also a win-win.
"Fine. Fine, I'll do it, but if that creep does something stupid again I'll kick his balls off the second time."
Parker laughed, being able to persuade me let off some of his steam and he patted my shoulder, "I'm not surprised that you did that."
It's going to be one hell of a ride.
