"Ugh fuck," I woke up with a throbbing headache. Fucking hangover. I looked around me, this isn't Ray's place.
Fuck, I'm home.
I got up after struggling a little and saw some aspirin on my bed side table. Thank God.
I swallowed it down with a mouthful of water and sighed. Ray must have brought me back here, Rachel, his girlfriend must be home.
I realised my shirt was changed and my shoes were thrown in a corner. Man I must've caused a ruckus.
Someone knocked on the door, "Come in."
James, the butler came in, "Breakfast is ready in the dining room."
"Yeah okay."
He was about to leave when I stopped him, "Ray brought me back right?"
"Yes sir."
"Did he or you help me change? I remember my phone was in my blazer pocket but I can't find it anywhere."
"Oh no we didn't change you. Miss Rose changed your top for you."
My eyes widened, "Wait what?"
"Don't take this the wrong way sir, but you were quite difficult yesterday. Miss Rose asked me to leave you to her and she helped to tuck you in."
My mouth was wide open, Cassidy did what? I thought she hated me.
"I'll excuse myself sir," and with that, James left the room.
I took my shower, still stunned by what I was just told. Why? She was so annoyed by me, why would she bother?
I grabbed my black suit and put my white dress shirt on. I checked myself in the mirror and when I was satisfied, I grabbed my black blazer and suitcase and strode out of my room.
I had no idea what happened to my blazer last night. My phone was in there and I needed it.
I started down the stairs but caught a glimpse of someone standing on the balcony.
My breath got caught in my throat, it was her.
I walked over quietly, afraid that I'll scare her. She was beautiful, in her white sleeveless blouse, her black pencil skirt all hugging to her petite frame so delicately. Her black stiletto heels finishing her look.
She was fucking sexy and she had no idea. She was facing the entrance to her home, eyes closed. As if she was meditating.
She must have felt my presence, her eyes flew open and she turned to me.
I rubbed my temples, fuck why must my brain stop working when I needed it most. I kept quiet in case I said something stupid and she eyed me.
"Good morning Caden," she smiled sweetly and I swear my heart melted man. How can she be sexy and sweet at the same time?
I cleared my throat, "Good morning Rose." Ah fuck I screwed up again.
I kept thinking of calling her Rose in my mind I totally forgot to ask for her permission.
A smirk played on her lips, "Rose?"
Okay calm down you idiot, "Is it okay? If I call you Rose?"
She thought about it, her eyes twinkling, "Sure I guess. I won't give you a nickname though, I like calling you Caden. Sounds very, childlike."
She giggled and I smiled, she let me call her Rose.
"Miss your breakfast is ready, ah Sir please come down as well," James came to us again and we went down.
We sat at the dining table and ate. I don't know why I'm so nervous. I'm hardly ever nervous around girls.
I decided to sit a seat away from her, I didn't want my brain to trip over itself and say something stupid.
"So," she started and I looked up at her from my food. "You didn't come home for two days and you came home drunk yesterday, may I know why? If you want to tell me of course."
Her eyes were curious as she gazed at me, "I'm just stressed I guess, there's a lot of work piling up because of my absence next week." No way am I telling her that it was because of her.
She nodded, understanding, "Will you tell me next time? If you're not coming home, I got kinda worried when you were M.I.A for two whole days."
"Yeah sure of course," my heart was doing flips, man she cared about me. She actually bothered if I was home.
She smiled and her security guard appeared in the dining room. "Miss, there are reporters surrounding the entrance gate. They refuse to leave."
Her eyebrows furrowed and she stood up, "What's this about?" Her butler handed her black jacket to her and she put it on.
I had to stop looking at her, she was so beautiful.
I followed her out and apparently the reporters found out that we were supposedly dating and they came for the gossip.
I grumbled, I hated being surrounded by the paparazzi.
We stood outside the house, seeing a group gather outside the gates from afar.
"Well they found my address rather quickly," Rose muttered, annoyance dripping in her tone.
I chuckled, "They're heartless man."
She laughed slightly, "Experienced it before huh?"
"Yeah, that's why I moved to this area in the first place, and also to get away from my family." I sighed, why did I mention the second part?
She raised her eyebrows, "Interesting, but I won't pry. That's the paparazzi's job."
We laughed and I was glad she relieved the tension.
"Come on, I'll send you to work," she smiled and took us to her car with her driver already seated.
Seems like today would be a good day.

I'm going crazy just staying in my office the whole day. The damn reporters were still at the entrance of my hotel. It was almost evening and they've been here since morning.
What did they want to know so badly that they'll do that?
My phone beeped and I pressed the button, "Yes Parker?"
"There's a reporter here to see you, she made an appointment with you a month ago."
"Sure let her in."
The reporter came into my office and I put my best smile forward, "Hi, welcome to Flair Hotel, I hope you were received warmly by the staff."
She smiled, "Ah yes the service is impeccable. I'm from the news office and would like to ask you about the resort you're opening soon."
It was a normal interview and I gave my most professional answers.
When it was nearing the end she asked, "May I ask you about Mr Jones?"
I raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry?"
"Well to be honest there was word going around about you and Mr Jones of W.J. Architects and the stock prices for both companies rose. There was even talk about a marriage agreement, is that true?"
I don't really know what my facial expression was but I just looked at her, my mind trying to fit the pieces together.
"Well, technically yes we are a couple. I don't like that people are saying it's a business deal, it's really not." I was lying through my teeth and it kind of hurt me when the truth was that we really weren't together.
Yeah sure he's annoying but he's so vulnerable at times and though he's stupid, it's really adorable to see him fumble.
There were so many sides to him and I wanted to know more, I was getting curious about him.
"That's nice, congratulations Miss Rose. That will be the end of the interview, thank you for your time."
"It's my utmost pleasure," I shook her hand and she left my office.
I smiled at the thought of Caden, the way he panics when he says something stupid is hilarious.
"Miss Rose," Parker's voice sounded into my intercom and it broke my train of thoughts.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"It's about Mr Jones."
"What about him?"
"He's being held at the police station."
