"Stupid old man! Die already!"
Ewan hit the table while staring at his cell phone. Just then Michael entered the office.
"Man, you’re in a bad mood, huh? I could even hear you yelling from behind the door. Who were you talking to?"
"My grandfather. That stupid old man won’t let me be."
"Of course," Michael said smiling ironically while taking a seat. "So, do you have options already?"
"Well, he says I’m free to choose anyone I want, but he has this fixation with this girl, Emma something."
"Emma?" Michael started thinking for a moment. "Oh! I know! You mean Emma Da Costa! She’s hot, man. And she’s superrich."
"I don’t know and, honestly, I don’t care if she’s hot or rich."
"You should, man. At least you should care about her money. You won’t get anything from your grandpa if you don’t marry her or, I don’t know, anyone."
"The problem is not about the old man’s money, Mike. The problem is that he’ll kick me out of the company."
"Then look for a girl… or a man." Michael smiled.
"You want to marry me?"
"Sorry, dude. You know I’m loyal to my Diana."
"Then shut up. I don’t know what I’m going to do."
Ewan put his hands over his face while letting the weight of his body lay on the armchair. Michael’s smile disappeared.
"Be honest, Ewan. Why don’t you want to get married?"
"I just don’t want to, okay? Especially if I’m being forced to."
"I see."
Both stayed silent for a while, then drank some wine.
