Foreword:

Hello, I'm GameMaker8YT. The author of this light novel series. This is my first light novel and I apologize in advance for my inexperience. I hope you enjoy it.

“So, that was what that whole sentinel shit was about huh” Leon says, “Do the Xethains look scary, I hate having to kill scary monsters, it’s a real pain in the ass” Amber says, “So this is the new Squad that’s flowing through the ranks huh, Squad Petra” Wyatt says with a disappointed look on his face. Ash looks next to him seeing everyone fool around while the other leaders are discussing a plan. “So what is our part in this operation?” Wade asks Xero, “Your assignment will be supervised with Squad Kaizen, and will be determined at a later date for now you will be assigned to take down a Slave dealer, the leader has been rumored to have sighted the last location of a sentinel”, “so we’re on intel duty?! Come ooon, give us something cool” Leon exclaims. 

“Squad Nexus, you will be in the outer perimeter of the city, to eliminate any Xethains that are spotted.” Xero says, “My squad, squad Armanda will oversee all of your assignments and will eliminate any A to S class Xethains, and once the sentinel has been spotted, we will be the ones to kill it” Xero says. 

“You gotta be fucking kidding me, right? They are doing that while we are on intel duty” Brandon says, “Think of it this way, if we don’t know where the Xethain is we cant kill it <3” Amber says with a smile. “And! That doesn’t matter” Brandon and Leon say in sync. “What a bunch of brats” Wyatt says. “You are dismissed” Xero says.

All the squads walk out of the door, Ash stays last, looks at Xero with a death glare, and leaves. “How did that idiot end up here” Xero says. “Your sis seems kinda hot, she single” Leon asks Ash. “Yes” Ash responds. “Im just messing with ya” Leon says, “I think Amber wants to ask you if you’re single though” Leon says chuckling. “Whaaa- no, who…who said that… although I am kinda curious now” Amber says all embarrassed. “I am single” Ash says, “Man, you don’t catch any hints, at all or seem to care most of the time, you’re a bit weird ha” Leon says. “I know” Ash says with a straight look on his face, “But I never said being weird is a bad thing, did I?” Leon says.

“Listen up Squad Petra, meet me at the Xelara hotel in the city tomorrow morning, you all have free reserved rooms courtesy of Xero. Don’t you dare be fucking late” Caprio says. 

“Holy shit, we have free rooms at Xelara hotel” Leon says with a glow in his eyes, “What's Xelara hotel?” Amber asks Leon, “well I guess you wouldn’t know since you lived in royalty your whole life heh” Leon says, “Shut up, you know I hated the royal life!” Amber shouts. “Xelara hotel is the fanciest hotel in Xethain, it is considered a luxury” Wade tells Amber. 

“Oh” Amber says. Everyone walked outside the headquarters, the whole city right in front of them, the first time visiting Xethain. “Wow, there's so much to do!” Amber said. “We should take a look around to see if they’re any commissions to accept” Wade tells the Squad. 

Everyone starts walking through the main passage, standard shops, animal and weaponized animal dealers, shopping courts, for clothes, food, and pharmacy. Amber grabs Ash’s arm and drags him toward the animal dealership, “Hey Ash look it’s an Arlerlt!”, “Ok” Ash says. 

Amber stares through the glass cages they were held in, “They look so cute! Can you buy me one please?” Amber asks Ash, “We can't afford to take one in possession it would be a burden” Ash told Amber. Amber makes a pout face, “fine” Amber says tiringly. 

The Squad regrouped, “Did you know they have a bar here, on the main passageway, called St. Brewery” Brandon says, “Yeah, and there’s this guy everyone keeps talking about apparently he was the greatest soldier there ever was, his name was Armanda” Leon says, “So I guess, they named the squad off of him huh” Wade said. 

“Come on we’re still not at the rich part of the city yet, the shortest way would be going through the bad side of the city” Wade says. Everyone walks through the small passageway that leads to the bad passage of the city. The squad passed by a strip club, sex toy shop, prostitutes roaming around people having sex in the alleyways, and illegal drug shops. Children are being bid off by the citizens. 

“Hey Wade, can we go into the fucking strip club please?!” Leon asks, “We can’t, we have to get to Caprio and his squad” Wade says, “that’s the only reason!?” Amber exclaims to Wade. “Aren't we going to do anything about these slaves or rapists?” Amber asks, “We are not obligated to help them, we have orders and assignments. That’s the law. We must only do what our orders say or commissions that are accepted” Wade tells Amber, “But-” Amber says in a soft voice, “Wade’s right you know” Ash tells Amber. Just like that Squad Petra reached the rich part of town. 

Antique shops everywhere, rich people, celebrities fancy restaurants everything you could imagine was here. We stood in front of the hotel, “Hey, Ash you gotta make sure Amber looks good enough to go into the hotel huh” Leon says with a tease on his face, “Sure” Ash says, Ash looks at Amber. Amber standing there with a blush on her face, “she looks good” Ash says with a straight face, Amber’s head starts to turn completely red from bottom to top, “uuuh thanks” Amber says, “See Amber, he says you look good heh” Leon says.  Everyone walks inside, “Holy fuck, everything is so fancy and bright, large chandeliers with glowing lights, hot girls with big ass and tits, it can't get any better than this” Leon says, “Oh yes, yes it can I don’t think any of them shaved their pubes” Brandon says, “I am... I am shocked” Leon says. 

Leon turns to his right in sync with Brandon, “There…there is a chocolate strawberry fountain” Brandon and Leon say. “Why’d it have to be this squad” Wade says. 

Wade and the rest, approach the front desk, “I am here for a reservation” Wade tells the receptionist, “Under what?” the receptionist says, “Under Squad Petra” Wade says. “So one first-class room with three beds, and another first-class room with a king-size bed, here are your keys for both rooms” the receptionist explains to Wade, “thanks” Wade replies. “Shit, looks like two of us will have to share a room” Wade tells the Squad, “hehehehhe” Leon says with an obvious tease look on his face, “I have a suggestion if I may?” Leon says in a classy voice, “I think AMBER and Ash should share a room” Leon says out loud, “huh, me and Ash, well umm I don’t know” Amber says, “it’s decided you two will share a room” Wade says. 

“Nice job Leon” Brandon says, “Ok” Ash tells Wade. Everyone walks past the golden stairs, with a red and brown pattern and enters the fancy elevator with glass and crystals embedded in the creases. The elevator lands on their floor. Everyone walks to Wade’s, Leon’s, and Brandon’s room, “So me, Wade and Brandon are gonna check out for the night, see ya in the morning” Leon says and quickly slams the door shut. Ash and Amber walk towards their room and puts the key, the door slowly opens as the awkward silence rises. “I’ll take the couch, you can take the bed” Ash says, “Whaaa-, oh um” Amber says in a soft voice, Ash takes a blanket in the room and sets it on the couch, grabs a pillow and as he is about to set it down Amber speaks, “No! We…we got first-class rooms so we could both enjoy them so you…you’re going to sleep on the bed” Amber says out loud, “If you say so” Ash tells Amber. 

Amber’s face turns completely red as she is shocked by what she just said, “I set the couch ready, so you can use it when you’re ready to go to sleep” Ash says, “Wha--” Amber said out loud. Amber approaches the bed, “I…I want to sleep in the bed too, well I mean if that’s okay with you” Amber asks Ash, “Go ahead” Ash tells Amber. “He doesn’t even look flustered or anything, what should I do to make him nervous!?” Amber thinks to herself, “I’m going to take a shower first” Amber says, “Ok” Ash replies. 

Amber opens the door to the bathroom and locks herself inside, “This surely has to work” Amber thinks, “No peaking!” Amber tells Ash. 

Amber takes her clothes off, “Maybe I should leave my bra in here? No, that would be weird” Amber thinks to herself, Amber takes a shower, “it’s been so long since I’ve ever done anything like this with friends, I’ve always grown up in royalty and I hated every second of it, but at least now I finally get to do something with all my friends and especially Ash” Amber thinks to herself in the shower, 15 minutes later Amber gets out of the shower and changed into her clothes, “Can I get on the bed?” Amber asks Ash, “Sure” Ash replies, Amber slowly gets on the bed and faces the opposite direction from Ash, not a word spoken throughout the whole time, Ash fell asleep and Amber turned around to face Ash, puts her hands, and leans her head on Ash’s chest and falls soundly asleep with a smile on her face. 

The next morning. 

Ash wakes up to see Amber all cuddled up holding him in her arms, when Ash noticed a small tint of red could be seen on Ash’s cheeks.
