“Where am I?” He asked horsley confused as he sat up in the quiet room.
“The healer’s office, are you alright do you need anything Lua?” He asked, gently taking his hand.
“Water, please?” He asked, trying to remember what happened.
Henri got up and came back a moment later with a glass of water that Lua took and gulped down, his head hurt and his eyes hurt. It slowly started to come back to him what had happened. “Do you want more?” Henri asked him.
“Yes please.” He told him handin the glass back to him. Henri got up and refilled it for him and then sat next to him as he slowly sipped it this time.
“Do you remember what happened?” He asked him softly.
“I remember I was on my way to history class, I was running late cause I was excited with the progress of my self project for class, I stopped in the bathroom and after leaving I recalled getting hit on the back of my head.” Henri reached the back of his head and grazed a goose egg bump and heard him gasp in pain.
“Sorry, love.” He used a bit of healing magic and it was gone. “Better?” He asked as he cupped his cheek gingerly.
“Yes, thank you.” He told him as he nuzzled his hand. “The next thing I knew I was in the closet and I started to have a panic attack, I have claustrophobia from this one time we played hide and seek with my sister, and I accidentally locked myself in an armoire in an empty room and no one found me for hours.” He lied, he hated to lie but he worried what his mother would do if she found out he told someone how she punished him by putting him into the tiny spider room for hours. “I just had panic attacks… I don’t remember much other than trying to get the door to open and then breaking down on the floor.” He told him honestly. He felt suddenly scared again remembering and tears welling in his eyes. Henri gently caressed his cheek and then kissed his forehead.
“You’re safe now.” He told him. “I am here and you are not in there any more.” He added as he put his arms around him and held him tightly.
He felt safe and warm in Henri’s arms. “Thank you for rescuing me.” He whispered as he snuggled into his arms. They stayed like that for a few moments until they heard a commotion outside the office, it sounded like someone was arguing with the Healer, it sounded like Roy. Henri frowned and looked at him as he was suddenly torn about leaving him alone for a moment. “It’s Okay go see what Roy wants, it might be important.” He said, letting him go. Henri kissed the top of his head and got up to see what was going on.
“Roy, why are you causing a commotion outside the healer’s room?” He asked, walking out. Roy looked at him angrily.
“That so-called Fiance of yours pushed Marissa down the steps and I heard he was hiding in here.” He snapped at him.
“When was this? And how do you know it was him?” He asked, trying to keep calm.
“An hour ago, we were at the other healer’s getting her looked at, several people saw him run off.” He snarled angrily. Henri glared at him and he suddenly recoiled.
“Lua had been locked in a closet for hours, there is proof he’d been in there since social customs. I have been sitting here with him for the last half hour, are you telling me you and several other people saw him push her?” He snarled back.
“He could hav-”
“He did not fake being locked in there. I removed a chair that had been holding him hostage in that room. There is no way that he faked distress pheromones that I smelt, which was the only way I found him.” Henri pointed out. Roy retreated some more, he’d never seen Henri this angry before and he a moment ago could have sworn he’d seen Lua having pushed Marissa but now he wondered if she had just simply tripped.
“But there were others… I don’t know what to tell you. They heard them arguing about how she was being overly friendly to you.” He added.
“It wasn’t Lua and if anyone else says so they are wrong, they can come speak to me personally if there’s any problem.” He told him. “So go tell them they were wrong and find out who really did it.” He told him.
“Ye-Yes, your Hi-highness.” He retreated to go back to the other office to report to the other’s. Henri sighed and took several deep breaths to calm himself down and clear his pheromones before he went back to Lua.
Lua had heard bits and pieces of what had been said, he didn’t understand how could anyone think he’d do something like that? He didn’t even hate her, and if he had he surely wouldn’t have stooped to push her down the steps. Even if it had been an accident he would have used his gravity magic to stop her from getting hurt.
“Don’t do that.” Henri said, pulling his thumb from his mouth where he’d been subconsciously chewing on it. It was a bad habit of his. He kissed his knuckles lightly.
“Sorry, I know it’s a bad habit.” He told him. “I just don’t know who could hate me enough to put the blame of something so cruel on me.”
“Let’s not forget who could have endangered you by locking you into a closet like that, it’s not your fault Lua some people are just mean and cruel.” He added. “I’ll protect you the best I can.” He vowed. “Why don’t you lay here for a bit longer and then we can go get a late dinner together?”
“I’d like that.” Lua said, leaning against him.
