"Damn it! I have to think fast!"
I think the man heard the door closing. There's not enough time to calculate every possible situation.

So I just went to the cottage. I turned the doorknob and pushed on the door.
*clack clack*
"Damn it! It's not opening!"
*screeeak* I heard the barn door opening. So I quickly rushed away.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my arm. My heart dropped. I tried escaping his grip, but he was too strong.
So I screamed: "HEEEL-" His other hand was holding my mouth shut.
"Stop screaming. I can explain. But first, let's go to my house."

"Okay, promise you won't scream or try to escape when I let you go."

I don't really have any other option, so I nodded.

"Okay, I'll let you go now."

"What is this? What are you going to do with me?" My heart was racing. Was I going to be eaten? Sliced in half? Would he tear off all my limbs?

"Okay, I know what you're thinking. But let me explain. I'm just like you: One day I woke up in this strange forest. I couldn't remember a single thing. And then-"

"How do you know that?! How do you know that what happened to you also happened to me?" I asked.

"Because that's how it always is. You're not the only one that found me. And I think that there are more people, like us, in this forest somewhere."

"Where are those people now? In the barn, did you kill those people?"

"No." He said "The people who came to me were killed, by the monsters. I don't know yet what or who these monsters are. I only know that they live in the forest, that they only come out when it's dark, and that they have a human body, but weirdly looking heads. When you kill one of them their head turns to dust. But their bodies don't. And that's what's in my barn."
"What are those monsters?"
"I told you, I don't know."
"But you killed at least a few of them already, right."
"Yes, that's right."

Should I really trust this guy? What if all of what he said was just a lie, so he could kill me. But what if he's saying the truth. I did see some kind of monster when I first woke up.

1. Trust him. You don't really have another option.
2. Don't trust this guy. He just wants to kill you, like all the other people in his barn.
