What's Up?

The next (and last) book, Chevalier, is currently under construction. That being said, since it's not yet done, it hasn't yet been edited. With the feedback and criticisms received from readers in the past, I have made the decision to postpone uploading the book until it's finished and at least edited to the best of my ability.

Why the Hiatus?

I know this announcement may upset some people, but I hope you understand that I try very hard to churn out quality chapters even while having to work solo. Inevitably, working alone means I may have lapses in spotting errors which, more often than not, leads to a lot of dissatisfaction among paying readers. And for good reason. Considering that you have been paying to support the series, it is my responsibility as author to give you your money's worth.

Also, I'm trying to avoid going under fire again because it doesn't do well with my mental health. I know that, even after all this work to edit and revise, I may still miss some mistakes. However, it makes me feel better knowing there'll be less that readers would get tripped over while immersed in the work. I would love to hire an editor to help me go through the series, but they're very costly. And since they charge on a per-word rate, considering the length of this series, it's currently not within the range which I am able to pay for.

Orison and Nether has had a lot of errors that I missed even after revisions, and I sincerely apologize for this. I am still working on editing, and the novels on Tapas will be updated thusly once I have made significant changes to address issues that have been pointed out to me through feedback.

When Will Updates Resume?

I usually begin edits after the book has finally concluded. I am nearly done with pre-releasing Chevalier to patrons on my website (to those who're comfortable paying for on-the-go work). The book is already at Chapter 211, with the final confrontation and resolutions to all the mysteries thus far happening within less than 30 chapters. Rough estimates put me at Chapter 250, but I feel there will be much less (I'm thinking 225 or 230).

This doesn't include the post-series novella that deal with the aftermath and life of the Twelve (and other characters) after the war, which I think will be exclusive on my website in the foreseeable future. Details aren't yet at a close and open to changes depending on the wind and the tides, but rest assured I am diligently working to get us the ending we all deserve to this 10-year-old series in the making.

To be honest, even while we're already at the closing stages, I can see there's still a ton of work to be done. I am overwhelmed, and at the same time, very excited and sad. However, current timeline and estimates leaves me at, probably the end of the year or at the whistle for 2023.

That being said, please wait for an announcement on January 1st, 2023 for the tentative release of the seventh and final installation to the Celeste Academy Series, Chevalier.

Should plans change, I will be making full disclosure of reasons, but I have given myself ample time for preparations at this date, so if the elements allow, I may be able to release the book on Tapas much, much earlier. However, I have generously put this date in to relieve some pressure considering the amount of work I am faced with at the latter half of this year. I do not want to overstuff myself or rush the process, neither do I want to put an earlier date and disappoint readers should I have to postpone.

Overall, I think this is a question of "Are you ready?" because this book drops all of the bomb. Feedback so far among advanced readers tell me a very positive and very exciting experience at the unfolding of events for the last book. It also gives me closure and rest from working on this series for a whole decade (and a wee bit more!). However, even as I write, I find there are quite a few holes that needed to be solved plotwise. There has been more than one occassion that I forgot about particular characters that played important roles at turning of events (I forgot about Femeron, Val's dragon, the entire war! Even after foreshadowing she would be a great help to it all -_-). So I seek to mend and sew all these plot holes before release, so that readers can focus on enjoying the story more than worrying about these mistakes.
