Kit couldn't think of how often he had to cancel his plans with Finnley because of his hungry urges. How many times he's seen this look of disappointment on Finn's face, for him to just say 'it's okay’ or 'well, there's nothing I can do I guess’, or something of the sort, that would just sting Kit's heart even more.
He can't figure out I'm a.......vampire Kit thought to reassure himself.
There have been moments where Kit noticed Finnley looking at him skeptically, suspecting him of something. These looks always filled Kit with fear, and whenever he had the moments where he was under control, he showered Finn with as much love as possible. And this was one of these moments.
"Wooooow, this place looks so cute!" Kit immediately said after they entered, hand in hand, a new café they've been meaning to go to.
"I know right?" Kit answered, and lovingly stared into his partner's eyes. Finn squeezed his hand in return. "Let's find a nice table." Kit answered with a nod.
"I really love going to new places like this with you. Just exploring everything, you know." Finn began talking after they had found their table on the terrace. The wind was softly blowing, ruffling Finn's fluffy blondish hair.
"You look so pretty like this." Kit couldn't help himself, and said his thoughts exactly. But it was worth it, just to see Finn softly blushing in front of him.
"....w-well....you don't look so bad yourself...." Finn tore his gaze away from his and started pouting. I love this….
At this moment, Kit felt so....comfortable. So happy and satisfied. But......all good things have to come to an end. And this end meant either Finn figuring out Kit's a vampire, and being absolutely disgusted, or Kit himself not being able to restrain himself in front of him. Besides, you know, all the other couple problems that could occur.
Kit let out a sigh. He looked at Finn in front of him, giving the waiter a smile as they gave him his drink, and thought. Why does everything have to be so hard?
...whatever, let's just enjoy this...
But even though Kit said this to himself, when he looked again at Finn's smiling face, he felt like a fraud. Like the 'him' that he presents himself to Finn was only a facade covering the cold-blooded monster underneath. He smiled at Finnley when he showed him a curious look, but he was hurting inside.
He imagined himself, how he must've looked the day before, hungrily drinking blood. The reddish tint on his teeth, and his red fingertips. Kit looked down, and there were small traces of blood still under his finger nails. He was disgusted.
this is so suffocating
"....hey, Finn…..I…I have to tell you..I-"
"Fucking vampires, are you fucking kidding me??!"
Kit whipped his head up, and saw one of the other guests, spewing his words and simultaneously looking at the nearby TV. There, on the TV, was a graphic blurred image, and on the bottom of the screen was written 'another vampire attack in the city'.
Kit froze in fear. He looked back at Finn and found him scared too.
"....a-another one…?" It was enough for Kit to hear the scared stuttering in Finnley's voice to stop himself from even imagining finishing that sentence.
What even got over me?? I was just gonna confess that?? With people around?!?
"...listen, honey, let's just be more careful outside, alright? Who knows what these monsters are capable of." Kit's heart dropped.
"...yeah, I know." I mean, it's an understandable response….
Even still, the little hope Kit had in his heart, hid in the darkest deepest part of his mind. There's no hope. No hope of Finn accepting him.
"Let's just eat…there's nothing we can do about this." Kit said, and felt like killing himself.
