'Max, I think I might be gay....' Alex stared at this exact sentence for about 15 minutes now. He had no idea how Max could react to his sudden confession, but at that moment, he was so desperate to be heard, to talk to his friend, that the stress didn't divert him away from pressing the 'send' button.
Alex looked at the message with the little 'delivered' underneath. Fuck.... I'm so nervous.... Max was the only friend Alex cared this much about, that his heartbeat was hammering in his chest. How is she gonna react??
Alex put down the phone and went strolling around his house. He began doing the most unnecessary things, like watering plants that didn't need it, or making sure the dishes were properly stacked in their cabinets.
He heard a notification on his phone. Alex slowly turned around. Then, another one, and another notification. Alex could feel the absolute panic, he felt reminiscent of last year. His heart painfully leaped.
Anyway, he stepped up to the phone and opened the lock screen. 'Maxie🔥 sent......' and 'Maxie🔥is typing' stared back at him.
I-I can't do it..... But Alex knew that the sooner he'd figured out Max's feelings about all this, the sooner this horrible feeling would hopefully go away. He unlocked his phone and opened the messages.
'really? I'm glad that you trust me enough, to write me this'
....oh? That's it? Another message popped up. 'We can talk about everything if you want to, just sayinggggg if you're still confused'
Oh nice...... that's nice..... Alex still couldn't comprehend that this had a positive outcome. Max is glad that he trusts her enough to just out himself. Alex isn't getting fucked with.
Alex replied with a single 'thanks' and shut his phone. He sat down on a couch in the living room. I can talk to her about.... everything. A wave of relief washed over him. His brain finally got it. "Fuck yeah!!!" Alex saw some birds scarily flying away after his screaming, and it, for some reason, made him even happier.
I haven't been this happy.....ever!! The world felt so bright now.
It was the next day, and Alex was waiting in front of the school gate for Max's arrival. It wasn't anything unusual, she always gets here a few minutes after him, so he waits for her.
Still, even with the reassuring messages the day before, Alex was kinda nervous to see her. He felt kinda...awkward.
"Hey!!" He heard behind him and turned around. It was Max, and she looked in a better mood than yesterday. She came up to Alex and flashed him a smile.
She then grabbed his arm and whispered "Hey hey hey, about yesterday, your secret's safe with me so don't worry!" Then, she took a look at her phone and her eyes widened a bit. " Woahh the bell's gonna ring soon, hurry!!"
Whilst Max was pulling on Alex's arm, trying to her to the building sooner, he was in bliss. She really doesn't see me as different at all.... A wide smile appeared on his lips.
Alex felt like their friendship bond got even stronger. I'm so glad I told her... He looked at her, wondering how he could've gotten so lucky to become friends with such a kind human being.
