My Regnants are a b@st*rds: A story of a desperate vassal!
Falsehood
Falsehood

One last look at the view from the window.
A hot summer day encumbered by its heat would mark my performance.
I was absolutely not in the mood to use my falsehood, but unfortunately, or fortunately, I had to pursue my goal and consequently I would have had to stage my usual mask of hypocrisy, which would have allowed me to get closer to my liberation.
An involuntary sigh.
"I know you are exhausted, but hold on and fight."
With these words in my heart and mind, I went out.
A cordial hug and a façade smile started my performance.
I greeted the second lady with the same action and began to converse with the damsel who had first received my attention.
They were Sniks and her daughter, ladies belonging to that social circle of people who have the slightest contact with society, but who do not disdain lasting relationships with cold and cynical members of power. Our relationships had been going on since time immemorial and albeit in fits and starts, I had continued to cultivate an occasional relationship that I could also define socially correct.
Madame Sniks was very close to the Regnants Heil, she represented almost a kind of moral support for her, and although the trust was not bilateral, she kept the most hidden secrets from the sovereign.
The chatter was wasted for the duration of the meeting and one thing became evident: the Regnants was totally subject to the will of Madame.
One episode terribly impacted my performance and threatened to destroy my plan.
As I have already reported to you in the previous chapters, I had lost my title due to semantic vicissitudes and therefore found myself at the mercy of the various social agents, who did not allow me to find a condition of stability.
What does all this mean?
It meant not finding any support in the outside world, always finding a refusal in the search for accommodation as the various tenants disdained having to deal with someone who could make them risk social consideration or even worse someone who had dared to take a position against Noir, who represented a person of some importance within the circle.
Trying not to get desperate, I managed to find lodging in the shack of an old craftsman, whom I had previously helped when I still possessed my full qualifications.
But that's another story.
How does this relate to Madame Sniks and company?
Well Regnant Heil had the brilliant idea of wanting to do a little tour of Regnants' rural properties and unfortunately my humble home seems to be on the street.
Madame Sniks with evil eye, hinted without using a word, to a curiosity about the structure and knowing well how influential she was on Regnant Heil, she was satisfied and allowed to enter in my humble mansion.
With a gaze of perfidious understanding, the Madame and daughter, after a quick eye scan of the interiors, approached the picture of my lost title, which I had placed on the table to clean it a few hours before, and burst into laughter.
Regnant looked at me fixedly but did not say a word, she supported their laughter commenting only:
- "Whoever is the cause of the pain of him weep himself!" -
I felt myself dying, but I had to hold back my emotions as I couldn't afford to ruin the whole situation and make my already heavily poised condition even worse.
Madame Sniks looked at Regnants and added that, only those who are not master of their feelings lose their traits, and that Regnats Heil was such an enlightened ruler as she had agreed to continue to have contact with such rebels.
The blood was mounting more and more in my veins, but I tried to deflect my furious attentions, concentrating on the conversation that had just begun with the Madam's daughter.
Needless to say, I found her feigned display of innocence extremely boring, her charitable prostation to noble causes, and her self to bask in the great reputation society had of her, the image of the perfect heroine.
I must admit that the untruth was really tiring for the spirit...
I heard a sound..!?
Better if I write to you later, I might have unwanted guests.
