There are many kinds of magical practitioners: Necromancers, Black Mages, White Mages, Conjurers, Healers, Potion Masters, etc. There are even those who possess multiple talents. But the truth is, they are two grand categories of magical practitioners: the Magus, and the Witch of the Moon.
The Magi are people born with the innate ability to use magic. They have no need for an external source of power for magic lives in them. They have unique and powerful abilities and can use all spells and curses known and sometimes unknown to the magical community. Their only weakness lies in knowing or mastering their magic.
Because magic is in their blood, they can pass on the ability to use it to their descendants. This is why they can form entire families capable of practicing magic.
Witches of the Moon are, in general, less proficient in the usage of magic. That is because they are not born with the ability to use it. They are common humans who gained the aptitude by summoning Dwellers - which are the actual source of their powers. They channel Dweller's magic through ancient runes, sigils, or cursed objects. Moon Witches are only as powerful as the Dweller they are linked to. Summoning powerful Dwellers can be very perilous for them and it is very complex. Rare are Moon Witches who are capable of channeling powerful demons. In some cases, the demon kills those who were unsuccessful to bind and control it. However, multiple Moon Witches can be linked to the same demon. It is often the case for Moon Witches who are related or know each other. That’s how a coven is formed.
The only advantage Witches of the Moon have over Magi is that Dweller’s magic allows them to use a variety of skills on top of spells and curses. In contrast, Magi are usually only limited to one, sometimes two Magical Abilities – rarely more. For example, a Moon Witch can be a Necromancer as well as a Conjurer and a Healer, as long as they can handle the amount of Dweller magic needed. Human bodies aren’t meant to endure a large amount of Hell Magic for long periods and that is the biggest weakness Witches of the Moon have. They need to rest after using too much magic if they don’t want to die. They even risk breaking the link with their Dweller, thus losing the ability to use magic altogether. At best, their bodies become deformed and unrecognizable.
The World is plagued by Good and Evil. Two sides at war since the dawn of time.
The advent that will reunite the Infernal Child, the Spiritual child, and the Celestial Child is upon them and the terms of the war are about to change.
