“Hey Tobias, can you help me with this?” Colton was almost done setting up his desk. A few hours after the music major’s talk with the medical student Lianna woke up and questioned what happened and why the boy was in her room and why Juneau was suddenly calm around him. He told her everything before remembering what Marce had told him and got her to take her meds, both of them talking a bit more before she gave him another kiss and a hug, thanking him for all that he did.
“Sure, whatcha need?”
“I need you to run these wires through here so I can plug them into my monitor from the PC.”
“Alright.” The wires that were needed were given to the boy. He tries to find a way to snake them through the desk, however he couldn’t find a way even for his thin figure.
“Hey,” a cough is heard from the doorway. The pair look towards the direction, seeing Lianna draped in a blanket, a tired smile plastered on her face. “I can help.”
“But Lia, you’re not well, go back to sleep.”
“I got woken up, can’t sleep, plus I took my meds so I’m fine now. Let me help.” She walks closer to the two, grabbing the cords from Tobias’ hands, scurrying back behind the desk and plugging everything in, coughing every once in a while.
“Honey…” The boy whispers, leaning closer to the girl as she leans against the backboard of the desk, her coughing making a slight racket to the boys.
“I’m gonna step out, tell me when everything’s done.” Colton walks out of the room and presumably descends down the stairs where bits and pieces of his and Marce’s conversation is heard.
“I’m sorry.” Tobias looks back at the girl who held the blanket in front of her mouth, tears escaping her eyes.
“Oh babe don’t cry, please.” There was a sudden jolt in Lianna, hearing that word again, no, that name again after so long and how it used to make her smile so wide it made her feel a bit better.
“I’m trying not to but I can’t tell if I have some sickness or I just inhaled too deeply again.” The boy sits next to her, or more in front of her, leaning over to hug her, putting his head on her stomach that growled a little bit.
“Have you had anything to eat?”
“Yeah I had a donut this morning and then Marce gave me some grapes a few hours ago after you gave me my medicine.” The boy smiles slightly, at least being happy that she wasn’t starving herself like she had over a decade ago.
“You want to come take a nap in my room? It’s okay if you don’t.” The psych major nods, bringing the blanket down from her mouth as her coughing fit was over and moving so she could see the boy’s face, giving him a peck on the cheek.
“As long as Junie comes with.”
“I’ll bring his dog bed.” Tobias unlatches from the girl, scooting himself back and getting up off the floor before helping the girl get up. When the two of them were up he first helped the fragile girl over to the room next to hers and Colton’s, practically squished between the two of them. After he would go get Juneau and his dog bed.
“I don’t think you need to get his bed, this seems comfortable enough, just bring my pillow.” The music major nods, going out of the room and off to hers, getting the pillow she asked for and directing Juneau to follow him, which he does since he knows he can trust him.
When he comes back the dog automatically sees his owner and jumps up on the bed to greet her with sloppy kisses, only backing away when she coughs a little. “Hi Junie, nice to see you here.”
“Here’s your pillow, do you think you can make yourself into a good position?” The girl looked around the bed before trying to pull herself back, the blanket caught itself on something and she fell back. He grabs her by her left arm, still remembering what happens to her right if something bad happens. Bringing her back up he discards the blanket around her shoulders, lifting her up a little bit to put her on one of his pillows. “Lift your head.” She does so, him replacing his pillow with hers.
“Thank you.”
“For?”
“All of this, I know I’m not in the greatest place currently but I appreciate you helping me.”
“Of course, as your unofficial boyfriend I just want to repay what you did for me back then.”
“When did I say it was unofficial?”
“Well I guess you’re implying it is official.” She chuckles weakly, patting the bed for Juneau to jump up and fill in the gap between them.
“It is so… you’re still very clueless, Tobias Reed.”
“I could say the same thing about you, Lianna Gardner.”
“Whatever, I’m tired and I want to sleep.”
“You just said you weren’t.”
“I wasn’t at that time but I have volunteer work tomorrow at the mental hospital so I need all the sleep I can get.”
“When do you have to leave tomorrow?”
“Seven.”
“I can take you then, that’s the release time of Colton and I’s new video. So I have to be up to publish that.”
“Alright, well, ” she yawns, covering her mouth as she does so, signaling to both the boy and dog that she was about ready to fall asleep. “Good night dear, it seems you finally get to fulfill your dreams.”
“Well, one of many I guess.”
“Uhm, now go to sleep.”
“It’s only nine at night.”
“I don’t care, just don’t leave me.” The boy snickers but wraps an arm around her to pull her closer and puts her blanket over the both of them.
“Alright then, good night sleeping beauty.” She rolls her tired eyes, grinning.
“Night prince charming.”
