“Can you pull up the directions to the children’s hospital please?”
“Uh, yeah.” He takes his phone and pulls up the maps app, searching for the hospital before putting it back on the phone stand.
“Thanks.”
“No problem.” Silence takes over the car again, the thoughts take over the boy’s mind as he looks out the window. Mostly about Lianna and her medical history and what made her want to do psychology and how Juneau became a service dog. All those thoughts come and go in his mind as if they were on a conveyor belt, coming and going in a matter of seconds. “Hey Lia.”
“Yes?”
“What… caused you to go to the mental hospital?”
“I had very bad panic attacks, sometimes even anxiety attacks that left me not wanting to go outside, later I got diagnosed with agoraphobia and always feared the outside and how I could randomly get an attack out there. But I got over it. Though I did go there twice, after I got let out the next week I had to go back because I had a psychotic break. But it’s mostly been from anxiety.” Tobias hums, fidgeting with his ring.
“And then afterwards you got Juneau?”
“I had Juneau beforehand, I have bad separation anxiety just like Junie and so it was a good fit, he didn’t have a good past from what the organization said when he was assigned to me.”
“What happened?”
The girl inhales before looking in the mirror at the sleeping dog before exhaling. “Certain… things I’m not great with explaining currently.”
“Alright, tell me when you’re ready.” She nods, taking a turn up the ramp towards the entrance of the hospital. “Also what are we doing here anyways?”
“I have to fill out some paperwork to be an intern here for the semester.”
“Oh, does everyone have to do that?”
“Just the seniors of the class, which is Kyle, myself--”
“Who’s Kyle?” The girl parks in a spot before looking at the other, raising an eyebrow as she smirks.
“Are you jealous?”
“No. I just want to know who it is.”
“You sound pretty jealous but Kyle is my best friend aside from Mathias.”
“Mathias goes here?” She opens the door, ducking her head in.
“You ask too many questions, I’ll be back in twenty minutes, why don’t you go find us a place to eat.” Tobias opens his mouth before closing it again and nods.
“Alright.”
“Love you.”
“Love you too.” Lianna opens the backseat door on her side of the car, getting Juneau on his leash before clipping it to her belt loop. Shutting the car door she puts down the windows a smidge before locking the car, waving at the boy before going inside.
The music major continues to look at the girl until she is fully out of his view before looking down at his phone. He had been texting Colton about a number of things, mostly of when he’s going to be home so they can start playing with Clemin and Levi.
I’ll be home around two thirty at the latest, I dunno how long it’ll be to get home from the mental hospital. He looks up from his phone, waiting for the boy to reply. Finding his AirPods, he puts them in, going out of Messages to Spotify to put on some form of music.
After selecting a playlist that he’s been listening to since freshman year of high school, possibly even longer, he looks through his social media. On most platforms it displayed the last memories of the summer for the majority of his classmates that he may encounter within the next few weeks to months. Colton had made a new post on their shared Instagram account on how updates and videos might come out slower since school is coming up, many fans reply with such excitement and positive messages.
He must’ve removed the bad comments. There had been a lot of hate and controversy spreading around Twitter about the channel, mostly false allegations that no one could prove, only fake Discord screenshots and personal opinions could fuel the fire that was the dumpster fire of lies.
However within the past few weeks the boys haven’t really done anything about the dumpster fire aside from putting their personal and collective Twitters on a suspension break while just continuing their normal lives. Maybe he should tell Lianna about all of this but what would she know and would she even care? The question swirls around in the boy’s head as he looks out the window before back at the screen.
I should just tell her, she might be able to help. The boy takes a deep breath, exhaling before closing his eyes. He should go to sleep, between the no sleep of the past few days and the wonderful drink that is coffee, it hasn’t exactly been the greatest and he needed to get back on his normal schedule before school started once again. It’s only the tenth, I have time.
