Kyle drives Lianna and Juneau back to the park that they were earlier in the day, sitting on the bench as the boy texts the girl’s boyfriend of where they were. The girl on the other hand was running around, throwing a stick that she had found so the dog could go fetch it.
Alright, I’ll be over in a few minutes. He looks up to see the happiness and the calmness of the girl in front of him. Maybe it was a bad idea to tell the other where they were or, maybe it was a good idea, who knows, he certainly couldn’t tell since the girl could change emotions within two split seconds.
“Hey Lia, I’m gonna go back to the car for something, I’ll be right back.”
“Okay!” She yells from where she was in the field. The psych major gets up and goes towards his car, opening the driver side door before getting in and sitting there.
I’m sorry Lia.

Tobias pulls his car up to the park parking lot, parking in a spot before getting out, seeing the girl yelling and cheering on her dog, it made the boy’s guilt rise in his stomach.
Come on Tobias, you can do this. His footsteps become louder and louder in his head, as if that’s the only thing he could hear aside from the ecstaticness from his lover. Her eyes meet his and she stares at him, all happiness seemed to be drained from her in a quick few seconds.
“Lianna…”
“What do you want.” She spits out, crossing her arms and standing up straight.
“I wanted to say that I’m sorry.”
“It’s a bit late for apologizing.”
“I know but…”
“Why are you even here? How did you know where I was?”
“Kyle told me…” the psych major huffs, tightening her grip on her arms that were still crossed.
“Of course he fucking told you.”
“Still… I’m sorry, I know I was invading your privacy and I shouldn’t have, we still need to set boundaries and go through a ton of things.” She hums, tapping her thigh so Juneau would be around her.
Lianna takes a deep breath, coughing a little afterwards, “I’m sorry too. I could’ve worded what I said better.” A smile appears on the boy’s face as he starts to open his arms out, physically asking for a hug. The girl chuckles before taking a step forward to hug the boy. He was a bit weirded out that her emotions changed so quickly but he didn’t take any offense to it.
“Here, lets sit and talk about the rest of this.”
“Okay.” Tobias leads the two to the bench and sits down, leaving the animal to sit next to Lianna’s leg.
“I still act really childish don’t I?”
“There are times here and there, but you have really matured since freshman year.”
“That’s good, life at home was something else then, I’ll tell you that much.”
“How did your sister’s surgery go?”
“It went well, hopefully she’ll get better.”
“Yeah.” There was a strange silence between the two, both of them fidgeting with their hands and nails before looking out at the park that had gone dark. “Maybe we should go home.”
“Are you okay to go home?”
“Yeah, I mean, we apologized and it’s all over now.” He hums, getting a bit closer so he could put his head on her shoulder.
“Ya know Lia,” She looks over at him as he grabs her hand, intertwining their fingers, “you’re still a bitch.”
“I know I am, that’s the funny part.”
“Just a mature, logical, funny, cute bitch.”
“So I’m a cute female dog?” He rolls his eyes, turning his head to look at her, his dark eyes looking up at her lighter ones as they turn to a dark navy blue or forest green.
“I never fully figured out what color your eyes were.” She chuckles, continuing to fidget with their interlocked hands. “Like are they blue? Green? Gray? Or what?”
“They’re just a mixture of all three, it depends on the light I suppose, but my passport and driver’s license say that they’re blue.”
“Certainly look navy blue now.”
“That’s because it’s dark out.”
“Uhm, it’s also at least nine at night, so that’s why.” Tobias scoots closer to the girl, getting slightly closer to her face for him to place a kiss on her cheek. “You’re so confusing Tobi.”
“How am I confusing?”
“You get mad at me for the majority of the day and now you’re being like a giant teddy bear, all adorable and cuddly.”
“Well, Colton told me to suck it up and that you were just fed up with me asking questions, you were also extremely tired from your meeting and errands and work and such that it sorta just… seemed like both of us weren’t in the greatest mood.”
“And I couldn’t make time for you even though I’m off until the twelfth until I have to go back to work and tomorrow I’m supposed to stream since I haven’t in a week.”
“Can I stream with you?”
“You can sit in my room while I stream, I’m just going to be writing and adding to the story that my chat comes up with.”
“Alright.”
“Uhm, I mean, you could pitch in some ideas here and there but I’ll give you the doc to read later tonight.” He nods before tightening his grip on her hand, looking into her eyes one more time.
“Lia?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I kiss you?” The girl smiles, leaning forward to kiss the boy who got extremely giddy and kissed her. Juneau whines and they both stop, Lianna chuckles bending to scratch his ears.
“You’re such a baby Junie. Well, I think we should get going, the park’s going to close in a bit anyways.” Tobias gets up, grabbing the girl’s bag that he had put on the ground before putting it around his shoulder, making the other giggle a bit more. “You look so dumb.”
“I think I look pretty nice, for a 1930’s paperboy.” She rolls her eyes, picking the dog up to stop him from whining. The two walk back to Tobias’ car, putting their things in, Lianna looks around in confusion. “Are you alright?”
“Just wondering where Kyle went, he told me he was grabbing something from his car and then I didn’t see him for the rest of the night.”
“He must’ve gone home.”
“Nah, it’s a codeword for going to the hospital, I think they called him about his sister.” She slides into the passenger seat, putting her seatbelt on before locking her hand on the car door.
“Oh… Also, why do you do that?”
“Do what?”
“Put your hand on the car door and look like you’re holding on for dear life.”
“It’s just something I’ve done ever since I started practicing to drive and my dad started to drive afterwards.” The boy hums, turning the car on before backing out of the spot and driving home.
