I'm in this black void. No. Perhaps it's not a void, but I can't see or hear.
All by myself.
It stayed like this for a long time. A very long time...
Eventually, I saw a light. Then, the bloodcurdling sound of yelling could be heard.
And then, finally, I was free. I could freely move. It was cramped in there!
I'm in a room now. It looks like a plain room with light brown wood that's placed as the walls and a bed right below me.
Then I saw 5 people in the room. A man, a woman, and three ladies dressed in a maid-like attire.
Oh yeah, that's right, I was reincarnated!
The man was a person of big stature.
Perhaps his early 20s? He had fiery red hair and eyes that shined darkness like they were the shadows themselves. A face that made you think he could sleep with anyone they want, and a body so well-built it put Olympic bods to shame.
Then I looked over at the woman who I presume gave birth to me.
Purple hair, humongous boo- I mean, purple eyes, a terrifically young body. Maybe 17? Nothing particularly well-built about her, but you could tell at a single glance that she was incredibly beautiful.
Then I heard the man say, "___♥♥♥_____! ♥♥♥♥♥___♥_! ♥♥♥~_____♥♥♥♥~"
He started crying? Huh? Why is he crying but the one who gave birth to me isn't? I guess he's one of those guys. Wait... why did he grab her so indecently? She just gave birth!
"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!"
The woman yelled something and smacked the hell out of the man. She can muster that much strength after just giving birth?
Woah!
The man started to carry and spin me around.
I just came into this world you know!
After trying to escape his grasp, I just accepted my fate before the lady jumped up from her bed and came to save me.
Thank you! I will forever remember this debt that I owe for saving my life!
These guys are my parents? Such odd folks. With that fiery red hair that goes down to his shoulders, he could pass as an RPG character.
Judging by the way they're speaking, it's not a language that exists in my world. I'll just have to learn how to speak.
And just like that, I was born into this new world.
Tatania's POV.
Me and Tristan were so worried that something would go wrong. It took 10 months for our son to be born, but now that he's here, I can't help but feel that all of our worries were unwarranted.
All of my concerns immediately came back when I saw that he didn't cry, but our aids said that as long as he's breathing and holds a heartbeat, it'd be alright. My idiot husband tried to touch me the moment I gave birth, so I had to beat some sense in him!
Now... a name. Usually in our household, the man chooses the name, but me and Tristan have agreed to both have a say, so I'll have to think long and hard.
Oh, I know! He will be named after the hero of Larona and sole defender against the ancient demon race, Nash. Nash Azrael. That has a nice tone to it.
"Tristan, lets name him Nash. Nash Azrael."
"Leave it to my genius wife to come up with such a brilliant name!"
And thus, it was decided. Nash will be his name.
[9 MONTHS LATER]
Ah~ I can crawl now! It feels so good!
I can move around freely now.
While containing my need to yell out in excitement, I calmed myself.
I need to check out the library and learn how to speak and write.
There's one big problem though...
I can't reach the doorknob.
Thankfully, parents exist.
By continuously banging on the door, I was able to grab my mother's attention.
But the opposite effect happened.
Firstly, let me inform you that while I don't completely understand the language, I can listen and decipher it for the basic words. It's quite similar to English, and the absorptive rate for information in this 'baby brain' is incredibly high.
"♥♥♥...too young...♥♥...♥♥♥♥♥...here."
I suppose she's saying I should get a bit bigger before I try to read.
I understand, I'll come back.
In that case, I'll enter my daily meditation.
Now, let me inform you on two things I figured out by myself.
One, biology's weird in this world.
Even if it's not weird, it's a bit unconventional. Let me explain.
In this world and my world, we have intangible souls that help us to do simple everyday things.
However, in this world, we can use our souls as fuel.
We have 'soul circuits' that directly connect it to our souls.
It seems both of my parents have them, so I'll assume (for now) that a majority of people in this world contain soul circuits.
I figured this out by closing my eyes and using my innate ability of sensing that I got after coming to this world.
Secondly, you can utilize the elements with the soul.
Souls seem uncanny, but they're real.
I believe it was called metaphysics?
Anyway, it seems our souls are metaphysical.
And if we were to channel power from the soul, we could use elements.
How do I know this? Because my mother used magic.
One day, I hurt myself really badly and couldn't move.
My mother rushed over and started talking while holding her hands over my injury.
At first, I thought it was a prayer kind of thing. But then a bright blue light shone and my body was reversing time!
It wasn't just healing magic, it was time reversal magic!
That's why I presumed that our souls were metaphysical, and that we can do magic.
I don't know what the limitations there are, but if the soul is metaphysical, I can imagine there's none...
It was while thinking through all of this that I notice something.
I can't channel my soul energy.
It's not because I'm incapable of doing so, but because the channels are blocking the energy.
Wait, that's not it.
The soul channels are compact. Similarly to having vasoconstriction, it seems they are naturally in a constrictive state. Along with the fact that there's billions of these channels, I'm not sure how I'm going to release every single one.
That's a topic for another day.
Moving on to a different topic, I'm aware of my parents' names now. My mother's name is Tatania, and my father's name is Tristan.
My own name is Nash... that has a nice ring to it.
From the number of important people who constantly come to our house, I can only assume this is a big household.
I mainly spend the day strolling around, dodging all of our maids. This seems to really annoy my mother. I'll have to stop doing that, but it's so fun seeing her get so frustrated.
That sounded mean... I'll stop talking.
And so one month passed, then two, then four... and now its been two years.
Life has been good. I've also made progress. Now that I can walk, I'm able to go and wander around as long as there's maids in attendance with me.
As I walk, I head to the area that I couldn't go to once before.
The dreaded Library!
All jokes aside, I felt quite relieved that I could reach the doorknob now, and don't require the assistance of my mother.
Looking inside, I see only 3 books.
"Huh?"
Oh, I forgot to mention, I've learned how to fluently speak now.
My parents were quite surprised when they saw me fluently speaking their language at the ripe age of 1.
Reading is an entirely different topic, but I'll learn through the reading of books.
Looking at the library, I could make 2 inferences.
Either books in this world were extremely expensive and sought after, making reading something possible only for the nobility, or my parents simply don't read.
Either way, all 3 books were related to magic, so I was more than ready to try them out.
When I went to awkwardly grab one of the heavy books on the low shelf, I could hear a slight chuckle come from one of the maids.
Hey! I'm still growing you know!
Opening the book, I realized something...
I could completely understand every word!
So Terminus granted me the ability to be able to fluently write in this language, but couldn't give me the ability to speak in the language.
Stupid unfair God!
Regarding the issue of reincarnation, I've come to contemplate my simply existence.
For one, what happened to the original soul that was to inhabit this body?
Did I possibly abort a poor soul?
Even further, what happens when I die again?
Will I reincarnate, or was it a one-time thing?
Well, thinking about it will only stress me further, so I'll simply enjoy life without dreading the greater details.
Sighing, I flip the page to quickly read the contents.
I think I understand how magic in the world works now.
It seems that the type of magic you use is in relation to the viscosity of your soul energy that flows within your soul circuits.
The consistency of your soul energy is completely genetic, and thus the usage of magic outside of a set category is impossible (physiologically speaking).
I quickly sit down to meditate again.
I've been focusing on a single soul circuit that wraps around my heart, and have tried to manually cause it to dilate.
The unit of measure for the constrictiveness of your soul circuits is called Ampates.
Everybody starts off with 100k, and you can gradually cause it to decrease through meditation.
You would have to decrease the constrictiveness of millions of soul circuits to decrease an Ampate by even 1 value, so I have a long and thorny road ahead of me.
It's said the least amount of Ampates ever recorded was 67, and that it was none other than the hero Arthur.
Perhaps, one day, I could reach 0?
Who knows.
Ampates show how fast soul energy moves in the circuits, so you can rank it as so:
100k - 90k = Tardus.
80k - 90k = Leviter Tardus.
70k - 60k = Mitis Tardus.
50k - 60k = Mitis.
40k - 50k = Mitis Ieiunium.
30k - 40k = Mitis Citius.
20k - 30k = Celer.
10k - 20k = Citius.
5k - 10k = Low-end Maxime Ieiunium.
1k - 5k = Medium-end Maxime Ieiunium.
0 - 1k = High-end Maxime Ieiunium.
A bit hard to swallow. Because of my high intellectual absorptive rate in this body, I was able to learn it fairly quickly.
Wait, I think I got it!
My soul circuit is starting to dilate!
"Ghhh...!" I yelled out in anguish.
"Young Master! Is something wrong!"
Then, almost as if someone nuked us, the entire house was blown to smithereens.
Huh? Huh?
What happened?
My parents instantly teleported over to the main site of the explosion.
How are they capable of moving that fast?
Putting that aside, they quickly yelled out...
"Who did this! Oh! Nash, are you okay!"
My father's being so loud...
Please don't yell so loud, we'll find the culprit.
Whoever did this.... I'll kill them myself.
"Master, Mistress, it seems the young master did this."
"Nash did this? How!?!"
"It seems from what I can sense, he unlocked his first Soul Circuit."
