Edit: Again, this was postet before I could upload the finished version... I will fix this soon.

EDIT: FIXED IT!! (It only missed lkie, two sentences, but yeah... anyway, it's complete now)

In another state, Marco frowns while looking at his phone. "Who was it, babe?", his boyfriend asks. The man sighs. "I don't know. They didn't say anything. They just hung up. Maybe it was a prank call?" Denis pecks Marco's cheek. "Maybe. Or maybe it was one of the boys? The letter should have arrived by now." Marco sighs again. "Maybe. But why wouldn't they say anything?" - "Maybe they're feeling shy?" Denis places another kiss on Marco's face, this time a little closer to his mouth. Then another, and another, soon reaching the corners of his lover's lips. Marco smiles and tilts his head away. "I know what you're doing", he says. "Really? What am I doing?", Denis replies playfully. "You're trying to distract me." - "Is it working?", the blonde-haired man asks. "It is.", Marco answers as he kisses his boyfriend on the lips shortly. "Don't worry, I'm not overthinking... not too much, anyway. Besides, I need to leave for work soon." Denis wraps his arms around Marco's waist and pulls him closer. "I know. But you got a few more minutes, so let's make the best of those." Marco responds by putting one of his hands on his boyfriend's cheek and kissing him deeply.

During work, he completely forgets about the call. He likes to forget about everything and simply relax while preparing coffee, tea, and sweets or a light breakfast for their customers. It only comes back to him when an unknown number calls him after he just finished an order for a middle-aged man who seems to be on his lunch break. "I'm sorry, can I take this?", he asks his boss, who's working the shift with him and another co-worker today. "Sure thing.", the woman says. "Take your time, we can handle this by ourselves for a while." He nods, before stepping outside and taking the call. "Marco Robins, speaking.", he greets, half expecting to not get an answer this time as well. "Hello.", a woman's voice says. "My name is Bianca Rossi. Feel free to call me Bianca. I have one of your nephews in front of me, he showed me this letter..." Marco gulps. So it was one of his nephews who called, after all. Denis was right. "Unfortunately, the kid is a little shy and has a lot on his mind, as well. Would you mind talking to me first?" Marco rubs his sweating palm on his apron. "Not at all... Bianca, was it? I don't mind talking to you, but... may I know your relationship with my nephew? And... may I know which one we're talking about?", he says, hoping that his voice stayed steady. "Sure. It's nice to know that you're curious about the boys. Feel free to ask me anything. I'm talking about Yujah, he's the second oldest. He's a childhood friend of my children, I've known him since he was a toddler. I knew his parents, as well. It's a shame that they left us this early in life, without getting to see their children all grown up..." The woman seems nice and having an adult to talk to about the situation seems like a good idea, especially since she seems to know the boys well... so Marco relaxes a little. "I see. Yes, you're right. I'm sure they're still watching over them from the afterlife. I can't imagine my sister not worrying about her sons... I take it that Yujah was the one who tried to call me earlier today? I was a little surprised when nobody answered when I took the call." The woman chuckles. "Yes, that would have been him. As I said, he's a little shy at times. He says he got really nervous when he heard your voice, but... he wants to meet you. And your lover, as well, of course." The words bring a smile to Marco's lips. They want to meet him... and Denis. They want to meet both of them. "I see, so they want to meet us... so do we... I mean, that's why we sent the letter in the first place... and, yeah..." He stops himself before he starts to ramble. "Oh, it's Yujah who wants to meet you, alright. I don't know about the other two, though... oh, now he's glaring at me, that boy..." Marco gulps. So, only one out of three wants to meet them... "Seriously, why don't you come and take over?", the woman then says, and Marco was about to ask her what she means when he realizes that she was not talking to him - she was talking to his nephew. "Come on, you can tell him that yourself. I'm sure he'll like it. Right, Marco? I'm sure you'd like to talk to him?" The man takes his phone into his other hand and starts wiping off the sweat from his palm again. "If he doesn't mind... but don't force him, it's fine if he doesn't feel comfortable speaking with me just yet... I'm sure it's a lot for him.", he says - unfortunately, less steady than he wanted. "Alright, just a moment.", the woman says.

After a moment of silence, the voice of a young boy reaches the man's ears. "...hello?", the boy says timidly. "Hello...", Marco says back, followed by: "How... are you?", which he immediately wants to hit himself for. Why was he so awkward all of a sudden? However, the boy doesn't seem to mind much, as he answers his question. "I- I'm... fine... considering everything... how are you?" Seems like they are both equally awkward. "I'm alright. Just a little nervous.", the man says. "Me too... I'm sorry for hanging up on you earlier... and, well... I haven't talked to Jax and Jon about the letter yet, so they don't know...", the boy clears his throat, "...but can you meet all of us? I think living with you is our best option, but I think we should meet at least once to get to know each other a little... that includes all people who would be living together and from what you wrote in your letter I guess that includes your lover as well?" - "Yes, I've been living with Denis for about seven years now. So it definitely includes him. We'd really like to meet you and your brothers." Marco couldn't help the grin breaking out at the news. In the end, he did want to meet them - his nephews.

"Okay, so...", Yujah starts, "Could you- I mean, will you come to the funeral?" Marco's grip on his phone thightens. Funeral. Of course. There was that. A funeral. His sister's funeral. Suddenly, there is a lump in his throat. He gulps. "I'll have to talk to Denis about that...", he answers. "Right, of course... do that. We'll, um... send you the details? We're sending out invitations anyway, so, since we have your address now, we'll send one?" Marco smiles. "Yeah, sure."

After the call Marco leans against the wall to gather his thoughts, before going back to work.

Orphans. That's what the Clark brothers become after their parents die in a car crash. And unfortunately, they have no relatives left who could take them in - or so they believe.

Marco got kicked out by his family for being gay at the age of 17. He has come a long way since then. He is happily living with his partner of 8 years, has a roof above his head, a job, a stable income... and he hasn't been in contact with his family ever since.

He knows that his parents have both died without ever talking to him again. He expected that to happen. What he did not expect is getting a phone call in his late 30s saying that his older sister and her husband died in an accident, leaving three sons behind. Making him the only relative they have.

He'd like to help, but he has his doubts - surely his nephews would be homophobic, just like the rest of his family was, right? Despite those, he wants to try taking them, after all no one deserves to be left alone as a child or teenager...

Since Marco agrees to become their guardian after talking to his lover, the brothers get a call saying that they can meet with their uncle and his partner. While one only agrees to prevent them from possibly getting separated, another is secretly looking forward to living with the couple.
