For a little period, Julien feels as though his tongue is chained and he cannot speak. He made an effort, but he stumbled over his words.
The middle-aged man darted his focus on the young man as if he could see his past, present, and future from 500 meters away on the bus he was riding.
Vel, the consciousness inside him said, "That kid is extraordinary." He added in a hoarse voice, "Yeah, you said before and it appears like there is a hidden gem in this city. We shouldn't keep our new friend waiting."
With a thought, the middle-aged man teleported beside Julien.
He greeted the young man, "Hello," in a raspy voice. He is surprised right now and is thinking, "Damn! I don't know what to say next." Sil's thoughts came in like a lifeline, saying, "Vel, explain first who you are and what you are trying to do, stop with this "Hello young man" nonsense, hurry! That youngster might collapse."
Even though Julien doesn't practice any religion, he has no choice but to pray in light of the current circumstances. Being brave, he swallowed his saliva and yelled, "Oh Hail Mary, Oh Buddha, Oh God, please, anybody, please help!" He didn't even know any prayer chants.
Julien's yells shocked Vel'krim. Hey hey, relax, relax! I mean no harm, he exclaimed, raising his hands as a sign of his good intentions.
While keeping an eye on everything, Julien suddenly went completely blank and his only idea was how to survive. The man raised his hands and Julien yelled, "Help! Please help me!" and lifted his hand as if he were blocking a sword. He wants to flee, but his feet don't move from the ground.
He is now feeling hopeless and says, "I truly can't move, is this the end! Mother, Father, I.. I-I can't even see you for the final time.
on the side of the old gentleman. Hey Vel, the kid lost it. It's difficult to hold a normal conversation. Talk to him using your consciousness, Sil says in his mind.
He said, "All right," with a nod.
The old man channels his mana to the tip of his index finger and places it on Julien's forehead; with a tap, he enters Julien's consciousness.
