Eli’s POV
“Jason I can’t- I can’t hold it in much longer-” I managed to get out between his rhythmic thrusting. “I’m so close…” I moaned.
“I know baby me too,” He grunted, both of us about to reach our climax until-
“Hey El, I’m finally back from work, I was wondering-” My best friend started as he interrupted the steamy sex scene I was no longer in the middle of. I began pulling the sheets over us as Milo began to realize what exactly he had just walked into. “Oh- Oh my god. I’m so sorry. I’ll just uh,” He began to back out through the door, keeping his eyes on us, Jason still on top of me and now angerly looking back at him. “I’ll be waiting out here for you El,” He said, quickly shutting the door.
“Shit,” I muttered, trying to escape Jason’s grasp.
“Shit’s right, who the fuck does he think he is barging in like that?” he said, not caring enough to notice me squirming. “Now let’s get back to- what are you doing?” He asked.
“Trying to fix this. Get off of me asshole.” I said, finally managing to push him off, although it was probably because he finally let me.
I struggled to find my pants and boxers in the dimly-lit room as I began to regret carelessly throwing them on the ground earlier. Once finally in my pants- which I’m pretty sure were inside out- I left Jason in the bed to go apologize for the awkward encounter.
“Milo-”
“Before you say anything, it’s fine, I get it. I should’ve knocked,” he stated, and so nonchalantly too.
“I- I should’ve locked the door and still I’m sorry you had to see that. I thought you’d be home later…” I said, rubbing my shoulder as if that would make the awkwardness go away. “Speaking of, weren’t you supposed to be hanging out with Sara? What happened to that?”
“Oh ya, that’s what I was gonna ask you,” He said, so quickly moved on from the earlier incident. “Wanna come with us?”
“Oh yes I’d love to be your third wheel.” I said, rolling my eyes at him. Unfortunately, that comment made his smile fall.
“Well I don’t know, you two haven’t hung out in a while so… I don’t know… I just thought…” Now he was looking down at the ground. Shit. This is a mess.
“Sorry, I was joking." I said, ruffling the hair on the back of my head. "I've already been out tonight so I’m a bit tired. I think you should have the night to yourselves anyway, I’ll hang out with you guys another time,” I said, wearing an awkward smile and trying not to make it too obvious that I was coming up with as many excuses as I could. In all honesty, I didn’t really like Sare, she always pissed me off with how bright and bubbly she was. That or the fact that she was dating my best friend/decades-long-one-sided-crush. Either way, I definitely wasn’t keen on having to sit with them at dinner while they were being all lovey dovey.
His expression shifted-not quite a smile but much less saddened. "Alright, alright. I'll leave you and what's-his-name to it then," He said, nodding at Jason's form, now standing in the doorway of my bedroom. Milo was finally smiling his adorable, dimpled smile again. Even if it was only to tease me.
"No, I think Jason will be leaving," I said, grabbing his hand and leading him out the apartment door, flashing Milo a strained smile.
As the door closed behind us I quickly turned to glare at Jason, “What’s wrong with you?” I growled.
“What’s wrong with you? You just let him interrupt us so rudely like that!” He immediately growled back.
“My best friend just walked in on us having sex for fucks sake! Do you know how awkward that was? I’m not just gonna ‘get back to it.’ That would only make things worse,” I argued.
“It’s none of his- wait… you like him don’t you?” His frown quickly turned into a grin as my face turned beet red. “You do, don’t you? You’re in love with your best friend? How fucking hilarious… what a typical trope!” He was bent over laughing, almost like he was crazy.
“What are you jealous?” I asked snidely.
“Aww baby do you want me to be?” He quipped, leaning over to trap me between his arms and the 3rd floor railing.
I immediately pushed him off, “Hell no, you wish.”
“Well if you like him, why don’t you just ask him out?” He asked, backing off.
“He has a girlfriend, I don’t wanna fuck that up with him. It’s not like I could ever even compete with her. I don't even know if he's into guys! We’re just friends anyway, and we’ll never be more than that. I’ve come to terms with that.” Shit, I’m rambling about Milo again.
“You’re in some deep shit dude. Well, see you around,” He turned to leave, lifting up a hand as if to signal ‘goodbye.’
“Bye,” I said, then under my breath, “asshole.”
