Home:
“Hey, guys it’s getting late. It’s almost ten-thirty. I have to be home by eleven. I’ll see you guys on Monday,” Carina said with a smile.
“Yeah, we need to go home too. Carina and Ivan are our ride and it’s almost Esme’s curfew. Bye guys!” Aydan said with a smile.
“Bye! See you Monday!” Rayn and Payton said in unison with smiles on their faces.
See you guys later!” Damian said with a smile.
“Bye guys!” Anemos said with a huge smile.
Ivan, Aydan, Esme, and Carina then walked to their car and got in.
“Well, I had lots of fun,” Esme said while buckling herself in.
“Me too,” Aydan said, buckling himself in.
“Me three,” Ivan said, starting the car and then turning on the heater.
“Me four,” Carina said, after she had finished buckling herself in.
“What time does Esme have to be home?” Ivan asked, pulling the car out of the parking lot.
“I have to be home by eleven,” Esme said. “The same time as Carina.”
“Are your parents super strict?” Ivan asked, pulling onto the highway.
“Yes,” Esme said.
“Ok then I’ll drop you off first. What about you Aydan? Are your parents really strict?” Ivan asked.
“Yeah. They’re pretty strict,” Aydan admitted.
“Ok then I’ll drop you off next. Then I’ll drop off Carina,” Ivan said. “Carina, make sure you call your parents or text them and tell them that you’re gonna be late.”
“Got it. I’ll call my mom right now,” Carina said, taking out her phone and clicking on her mom’s contact. She then placed the phone on her ear. It began to ring. Suddenly there was a voice on the other side of the phone.
“Hello! How’s it going?” The voice said, in a cheerful tone.
“Hi, mom. I was just calling you to tell you that we are on our way to drop Esme and Aydan off, so I may be late getting home. I hope that’s ok,” Carina said into the phone.
“Ok. It’s totally fine. Thank you for calling me and telling me first,” Carina’s mom said.
“You’re welcome. I love you. See you soon. Bye,” Carina said.
“Bye. Love you!” Carina’s mom said.
Carina then hung up the phone and turned on some music on the car’s radio.
“Your mom sounds nice,” Aydan said.
“She is. She’s pretty awesome too,” Carina said with a smile.
“And she makes the best food I’ve ever tasted!” Ivan said, enthusiastically.
They all laughed.
“That she does,” Carina said with a smile.
“She does,” Esme admitted. “I’ve had her homemade meatballs before and they were to die for!”
“That sounds delicious,” Aydan said.
“It was,” Esme said with a smile.
A little while later, they dropped Esme off and Aydan and now they were at Carina’s house.
Ivan turned off the car and unbuckled his seatbelt.
“What are you doing?” Carina asked, confused.
“I’m gonna walk you to the door. What kind of date would I be if I didn’t walk you to the door,” Ivan said with a smile.
Carina then blushed and got out of the car with Ivan following right behind her.
Ivan and Carina reached the door and Ivan turned to Carina.
“See you Monday?” Ivan said with a smile.
“See you Monday,” Carina said with a smile.
Carina then leaned into Ivan’s face and kissed him on the cheek. His face turned red as she walked to the door and opened it.
“Goodnight, Ivan. Sweet dreams,” Carina said with a smile, her face red.
“Good night. Sweet dreams,” Ivan said, looking a little dazed.
As soon as Carina closed the door, her mom rushed to her and said, “So...how’d it go? Anything interesting happened? Did you have fun? Did you guys kiss?”
Carina giggled and then said, “It went well. I had lots of fun. We had hot cocoa and made lanterns with our wishes written on them. We then sent our lanterns in the sky. And yes. Ivan and I kissed.”
Carina’s mom let out a little squeal.
“Mom!” Carina scolded.
“Sorry,” Carina’s mom said, trying to calm herself. “How was it? How was your first kiss?”
“It was...magical,” Carina said, dreamily.
“Awe!” Carina’s mom said with a smile. “I knew you two liked each other.”
“Since when?” Carina said, slightly shocked.
“Since forever. It was super obvious that you both liked each other,” Carina’s mom said, all knowingly.
“Really?” Carina asked.
“Really,” Carina’s mom said with a smile.
“Wow,” Carina said.
“Does Ivan’s parents know you went out together? I know they don’t like cupids,” Carina’s mom said, seriously.
“I’m not sure. I didn’t ask. I never really thought about it,” Carina said, looking sad.
“I’m sure it’ll be ok. They just want their kid to be happy. Every parent does,” Carina’s mom said, embracing Carina.
“Awe, I love you, mom,” Carina said, hugging her mom back.
“I love you too, Carina,” Carina’s mom said.
“Where’s dad?” Carina said, after she had pulled away and out of her mom’s hug.
“Dad’s asleep. He wanted to wait for you, but he had a long day at work so I told him to go to bed,” Carina’s mom said. “Speaking of bed, you should get some sleep too.”
“I will. Goodnight mom,” Carina said.
“Goodnight,” Carina’s mom said with a smile.
Carina then headed to her bathroom and washed off her makeup. She then headed to her room and put on some pj’s. Carina wore a white long sleeve shirt with red striped pants and fuzzy red socks. She quickly slid into bed and then unlocked her phone. She opened up text messages and clicked on Ivan’s name. She then began typing…
Did you make it home safe?
Yep. I’m all good.😉
That’s good.
Did you tell your parents about
us meeting up?
Yeah. They seemed less than
impressed, but they didn’t stop
me so I guess that's a good sign.
IDK.🤷🏻♂️
That’s good that you told them.
I was getting worried with how your
parents are.
Awe. You’re worried about me.🥺
Yes. Please, don’t make a big deal
about it.😑
Fine.😑
Well, I’m gonna go to sleep. You should
too.
Goodnight☁️🌙
