"Did you hear? Seems like Shang Show is on the move again."
"Who's Shang Show?" a woman asks, straightening her skirts as she carries a bucket full of water from the town's well. "You makin' stuff up again?"
"Hush woman! Ain't no one makin' nothin' up! Your ears needs to be cleaned if you ain't heard of the Bounty Hunter, Shang Show!" a man replies, striking a match to light his pipe and taking a few puffs from it.
"Then tell me, ya lily-livered bastard!"
"Alright! Alright! Well, from what I heard, he was Oriental brought over to work on the railroads with his Daddy for the Thompson Railways. I done heard alot of conflictin' things but Shang Show blames his Daddy's death on Calvin James Thompson and says he ain't gonna rest 'til the son of a bitch is in the ground."
The woman sets the bucket down and looks at her husband, hands on her hips as he rocks back and forth in his rocking chair. "I think you been listenin' to Crazy Joe a lil' too much. Ain't no way someone gonna blame their daddy's death on the owner!"
"I knows what I heard, woman! And I'm tellin' ya, Shang Show is huntin' that bastard down!"
"Daddy's right! I heard Shang Show killed 50 of Thompson's men already!"
"Not you too, Jebidiah!"
"Momma! I heard Shang Show knows alot of kung fu moves! And can shoot three people with a single bullet!"
"Alright! Ev'ryone in the house! No more talk about this Shang Show fella. Gon' 'head inside and get ready for supper!"
The woman rounds her children up and heads inside the house.
Not too far away, a man riding a horse gives a small smirk after witnessing the small family gossip. He pulls his hat down a bit, keeping the setting sun from his eyes as he heads toward the town's entrance.
