“Finally…”
We all groaned and laughed right after. The game teleported us to the same black space from before the game started. This was normal according to Hana-chan so I didn't think anything of it, but what isn't normal to her was what happened next. Billions of what looked like black pixels getting colored around us turned into a forest, and there we were Stranded in the middle of nowhere. Just as I could make out my surroundings; a small lake full of glittering water beside us, a nice blue sky with a shining sun, and a nice green forest with a gentle breeze; It all blurred, and I passed out.
HANA SUZUKI POV:
“Ehhhhh??? Sayako?”
I cried, laying her down in the soft grass. “Takajou-Kun! What do we do???? Where are we??” I asked with tears in my eyes.
“How am I supposed to know??” He panicked along with me.
“I can help.” We quickly turned our heads.
“Who are you…? Takajou-Kun asked the man with a stiff voice.
“Takao Kiyoshi, I’m a traveler from a faraway city. There’s a village with a pharmacy known for being good when it comes to treating people not too far ahead, it’s where I’m going now, would you like to come?” He said coming out of the shadows of the trees behind him. He was wearing a big bag full of what I thought was camping gear.
“Yes.“ I said, wiping tears off my face with my sleeve.
He looked at Takajou-Kun. “It bothers me, but we have no choice, do you have a map?”
He said looking at Sayako. “Yes, I do.”
He showed us the map, where we were and where our destination was. “Alright, let’s head out immediately.“ Takajou-Kun carried Sayako on her back, while Takao-Kun was carrying his backpack. “Hey, hey, did you guys notice how your names are so familiar?” I said breaking the silence.
“I guess our names are quite similar.” Takao-Kun replied.
”Yeah.” Takajou-Kun followed. I had a lot on my mind, why did Sayako pass out? How did we come here? And how can we go back? Takajou-Kun seemed like he was thinking these things too.
“So, why are you so far in the woods without any tents or food?” Takao-Kun asked, breaking the silence.
“We don’t know.” Takajou-Kun answered for both of us.
“Well, where are you from? Your clothing is unusual around these parts.”
He asked, looking confused. “We… don’t know.” Takajou-Kun said, frustrated.
Takao-Kun now looked like he was piecing things together. “Well anyway, it's getting dark, let's set up camp,” Takao-Kun said with a smile.
We set up camp in an open area and sat down on some logs near the campfire. “It's been a long day, I think I’m gonna head to bed,” I said yawning while walking towards the tent in front of me.
TAKAJOU HAJIME POV:
“So, what were those questions earlier about?” I said looking at the burning fire in the middle of the three logs.
“Haah.”
He let out a sigh. “You see, there's a legend.” He said looking down. “There's a dark god named Dusk. He kidnaps children, after a few years of harsh treatment and being lost in cells in the underworld, those children are given a choice. Stay there, or leave with no memories.”He said with tears in his eyes.
“The reason I was hesitant about telling you were, one, you two might be one of them and two… the bodies of those who are in the underworld, in this world are unconscious.”
I now also had tears in my eyes. “I-I’m going to bed too,” I said walking away towards the tent.
