Aila's POV
23:10
Thank Heavens, the rain stopped. I'm not exactly in a mood for jokes and this is why I ask-
"Are you sure about this?" I asked again for who knows how many times now. I always get the same answer every time.
"Of course, I am!" Herbert replied as he rummaged his bag; looking for his keys to his apartment. We are now in front of his home. Herbert offered I should stay with him for the time being while the investigation is still going on. I'm still not so sure about this though...
"But aren't we practically strangers? Who let's strangers stay at his own place? We literally just met a few hours ago." I refuted and I really think this is a bad idea so I turned around; about to leave. Maybe there's a nearby hotel here somewhere.
"Aila." Herbert called me out as he held my hand stopping me from leaving. Hearing my name with his voice somehow calms me down.
"Yes, we only just met awhile ago but..." Herbert started as I felt he tighten his grip on my hand.
"As we shared the umbrella together under the rain, I felt that we're finally became friends or am I the only one feels like this?" He said as he stared at me straight into my eyes. I can practically sense a bit of sadness and hope in his tone. Honestly, he's right. I feel the same way.
"No, it's not just you. We're friends." I said, trying to reassure him. As he heard this, he smiled from ear to ear that made me smile as well.
"Then let me help you." He said as he let go of my hand and quickly opened the door. Wait when did he-?
"Welcome to my humble abode, Aila! I know things has been difficult but I hope it will get better."
"Thank you, Herbert."
I was about to enter but I was taken aback by his place.

Lord, hear my prayer
I'll do anything, just let me find her.
