On a mountain, there was a storm, one that seemed to flood the whole mountain. On that mountain, two people stood. A young man and a young woman, both twins, led to this fate by someone else's will.

The two had stared at each other with absolute determination, mixed with sorrow. But how did they get there exactly? This is their story.

Together- a tale of how two souls would be forever connected.

A story of the Cores universe.

Prologue 1: One's soul.

Everything had seemed empty… It was almost as if I had been sucked into a black hole. "Where am I and why is there nothing?" I couldn't help but wonder such, just a moment ago I was lying in my bed and now I'm here, wherever that may be. Suddenly, I saw a bright orb, as the room was seemingly filled up, as I fell onto a platform of sorts.

”You’re here.” I heard a voice tell me in slight amusement, as though it had been waiting for my arrival for many years. It was very much pleased to see me here, for whatever reason. For me, I didn't exactly care.

“I’ve been waiting for you, Akane.”  The voice seemed to be grinning at me joyfully with sounds alone. But, this had made me somewhat concerned, what exactly would he want from me? It continued, before pausing for a second, seemingly studying me. “However… It’s not exactly your time to die.” The orb which had appeared a few moments before shimmered slightly, before reflecting my face in its glow.

When I tried to speak back to whoever this was, my body wouldn't let me talk. Not at all. So, I had to force myself to be quiet and listen.

"Normally, we would just send you to the spirit realm, letting you live a life there, however…” A man appeared from the light, long silver hair wrapped around from the back of his head all messed up almost as if he had no time to care for it, he had his face hidden in the light.

“That offer is reserved for humans only." He said, with a slight giggle, he was clearly enjoying himself here for some reason.

"Well, can’t scare the humans, after all, and well,” he vaguely gestured to me with a dance spin to a point!  Was this a game to him? To me, it seemed like that was it for him.

“You aren’t exactly human. Blue skin, purple horns, and three eyes. Most would consider you a monster.” He began pacing around me, curiously, energy high as his footsteps bounced off the floor, every step could be heard each one with a slight bump and bounces to it. It was like an excited toddler ready to play with his older sibling or father.

After his act, he decided to approach me, and put his hands on my shoulder with a smile on his face.

"I'll take your offer, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to live, right?" I was quick to ask him with a bit of curiosity mixed in with some dread.

”Very good!” I felt his hand let go of my shoulder.  It almost felt like he had dropped me down to the ground...“One more thing… You two haven’t been the only ones I’ve offered this to!” That was the last thing I heard him say with his giggling, as the orb suddenly seemed to become as powerful as a black hole, forcing me towards it.

As I felt the orb pull me towards it, I panicked and tried to hold onto the ground, but there was nothing. Damn it! The orb popped open, and when I landed on it, the orb simply clicked together like a capsule of sorts.

I was quickly sucked into the orb without any resistance, the man watching me carefully as I could do nothing to save myself.

The orb then flew off into the darkness before I had a moment to react, and into a conveyer, towards two giants, seemingly without any faces, and very bright skin. I couldn’t do anything as my panic grew.

Shit… This was pretty bad, whatever was going on.  But, I couldn't do anything about it since I was trapped inside of this orb. I felt almost scared, not understanding any of it, what the hell was going on here?! And where am I going exactly?  It was somewhat scary, but as a warrior, I couldn't allow my fear to get the better of me. I forced myself to brave it out.

Soon enough… Everything became white, almost empty. I wasn't anymore, there was no feeling or sensing. Nothing at all besides my own mind…

It feels like I've been here for years…. But, now, for some reason, I can feel but it feels as if my perspective is wrong, almost as if my world inside has been turned upside down completely.  It's cramped in here, almost as if I'm not the only thing in here… Or person? I don't care!
