It had been a week since Evander came to the mansion. Ambrose and Evander were walking to the office after visiting the village. The sun was slowly rising and the weather slowly turned from being chilly to warm.
“When Anneliese arrives, I’ll tell her to help us bring more life to the garden”
Ambrose paused “She’s coming? Why didn’t you tell me?!”
“I guess I forgot…anyways don’t worry” Evander smiled “My wife isn’t the leader of a guild for nothing, I bet you they don’t even know she has left”
“Or that she’s here” A soft feminine voice said
Both of them jumped scared and turned around to find a red haired woman fixing the sleeves of her shirt with a smirk in her lips
“Your highness Ambrose I’m so disappointed that your skills have worsened” She then shifted her brown eyes to Evander “Well you also disappointed me sweetie”
“You haven’t changed at all” Ambrose smiled “Still dressing like a boy”
“Your hair got longer” She pulled a strand of Ambrose’s hair after she let go, she looked around “I forgot that we had this mansion”
“We got it as our run away house when our parents wouldn’t agree to our marriage”
She smiled “They didn’t agreed at first because I was the one to kneel and propose”
Ambrose chuckled “Yeah I remember, everyone was so shocked especially after your mother fainted”
Evander blushed “It was truly a…unique experience”
Anneliese hugged Evander and buried her face in his chest while he hugged her back.
“Anneliese…how are things going?” Ambrose crossed his arms
She let go and turned around leaning on Evander who hugged her from the back “Well the kingdom is going downhill, the queen is being a weak bitch and the king is drowning in misery” She smiled “Everything is perfectly well” The sarcasm in her voice was crystal clear
Ambrose knew that Anneliese didn’t like the decision he took but it was all in the past and he wasn’t going to go back to the palace that easily.
Ambrose sighed “I know it was a mistake to give Felix the throne but I have made my decision and there is no turning back”
“I know Evander told me and even thought I don’t like it I will support and help you no matter what” She placed her hands on top of Evander’s “I’m also curious about the thing your hiding…I know you didn’t come here alone so show me”
Ambrose shifted his gaze to Evander who shook his head ”We both knew she was going to find out, and even if she didn’t find out by herself I would’ve still told her, she can be a great help”
Ambrose sighed “Alright…wait here”
He walked towards the room, and upon entering he found Zielle sitting on the bed “You slept well?” He ruffled her hair
She nodded “I heard someone new…is there a problem?”
“No, the person is Evander’s wife…she wants to meet you, is that okay with you?”
She tilted her head “What is a wife?”
“A wife is woman that you love a lot and you wish to spend your life with forever, she’s your partner and you don’t want her to be sad or hurt”
“So it’s a person that will always be there for you? No matter what?”
“Yeah, exactly”
Zielle nodded and Ambrose helped her get out of bed and led her where Evander and Anneliese where. Ambrose was glad that Zielle was blind because he sure wouldn’t want her to see Evander and Anneliese devour each other with kisses. He grabbed one of the pins holding Zielle’s hair and threw it, while Evander raised his hand the one to catch the pin was Anneliese
“Hey! Stop acting like a child” She rolled her eyes
“We haven’t see each other in a while” Evander said wiping his lips “I missed my wife”
“Yeah well, there are a lot of rooms here is it that difficult to find one and lock yourselves there?”
Anneliese was about to replied when she saw Zielle, she gasped and stumbled backwards “This…what is this?!”
Ambrose pulled Zielle behind him protectively and Evander hugged Anneliese “What’s wrong dear?”
“She’s supposed to be dead. Does that mean the tomb is empty?” She brushed her hair back with her hands “How…how is she…“ She slumped to the floor
“Wait…what are you talking about?” Ambrose frowned and Evander rubbed his wife’s back after kneeling beside her “You know her?”
“Yes, she’s supposed to be dead…A couple of years ago, before the sirens disappeared a group of noble captured a siren and kept her captive” Anneliese stared at Zielle “The son of one of those nobles fell in love with the siren and helped her escaped, and after they escaped they had a daughter but the nobles found them years later and during their second escape they died”
Evander glanced at Zielle “So you are telling us, that she’s half siren and half human?”
Anneliese nodded but Ambrose shook his head “She can’t be, she doesn’t have any special attributes and have you seen her? She doesn’t look like your regular siren” He held Zielle’s hand “Besides she can’t remember most of her life”
“I’m sure that’s her…Did you found her in the Arden forest?”
“Yeah…Ambrose said she was living near the lake” Evander helped Anneliese stand up
“Has she mentioned someone named Leonora?”
“Yes…Yes Eleanora do you know her? Do you know when she’s coming back?” Zielle peeked her head out from behind Ambrose “Is she okay?”
While Ambrose flinched, Anneliese covered her mouth with her hand and tears started sliding down her cheeks “Oh my…” She slowly walked towards Zielle
Ambrose moved letting Anneliese hug Zielle, who a little startled and confused hugged her back
“Oh…Hi, I don’t know why you are sad but I hope this hug helps” Zielle said softly while squeezing her
Anneliese slowly pulled her away and stared at her with a sad smile “I’m glad you are okay”
“Um…dear care to explain?”
“She’s my half-sister” Anneliese smiled
