The light which shone from the circle only grew. To backtrack a bit, our dear protagonists are trying to summon an animal for Tinz to rely on during his journey.
Suddenly, and without warning, grey smoke exploded from the circle. A few sparks flew from the aftermath, and Tinz watched in horror, realizing that the amount of creatures that could appear and be dangerous were quite high.
However…
Tinz stared at the creature. The… thing stared back.
“...Well,” Magnolia began, “That’s a new one.”
“A– a new what?” Tinz asked, unable to look away from the animal. Magnolia simply laughed.
“I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about! Nothing I create is scary unless I will it to be,” she said, idly leaning on the creature. It broke eye contact with Tinz to stare at Magnolia… and licked a long stripe right across her face. “BLEGH– WHY DID– ARE YOU A DOG?” She cried out, furiously wiping her face with her sleeve. Tinz started wheezing, nearly hitting the ground from laughing so hard. This seemed to alert the dog as it slowly creeped towards Tinz.
“Hey, hey wait, I’m fine no need to– to come over here, little– big? Big doggie, please don’t– HEY!” He screamed as the dog licked all over Tinz’ face much to his chagrin. It was Magnolia’s turn to laugh, as the dog grabbed onto Tinz’ collar much like a cat carrying a kitten, and flung him into its back.
“The… this dog… is too high energy…” he groaned, going limp on his new ride.
“Nah, I think she’s just fine,” Magnolia cooed at her, barely managing to reach the top of her head. “What’re you gonna name her?”
“Disaster. That’s what this all is.”
“That’s no name for a lady!? Hmm…” she broke off into thought as Tinz picked himself up from being face first into the nameless dog’s fur. “What about Ferry? She’s huge like a boat y’know?”
“...” Tinz stared at her.
“Uhhh…” she stared back. “I’unno it sounded better than just ‘boat’, I guess.”
“You were going to suggest– Nevermind. …Are you okay with the name ‘Ferry’?” he asked her, tentatively reaching up to scritch her neck. She, apparently accepting the name, barked happily. “Okay, cool.”
“Well that’s settled. Are we going on an adventure?” Magnolia questioned, stretching her back.
“Maybe. Once I figure out how to get down from here.”
