Mond

After being rejected so directly, Sonne did not retreat as Mond expected, quite the contrary his flirtations became increasingly intense and obvious over time.

"Did something happen between you and Sonne that night?" asked Ami after Mond dumps the omega for the thousandth time this week.

"Of course not, what do you think could have happened?" answered Mond angry.

"Maybe he misinterpreted your actions" Ami snoozes "I don't know, man, I've never seen a dominant omega get that obsessed. From what I've heard they are rarer than alphas dominant and stronger than alphas too, so they usually lose control in the first heat and unconsciously mark an alpha in that period, although the omega is not really attached to that alpha, being able to relate to whoever they want, except that it can only reproduce with that alpha, moreover, the alpha is stuck to that omega forever, knowing this, families usually make arranged marriages and the omegas end up stuck through contract." he sighed "Sonne seems very free, is he not from a wealthy family?"

"I don't know and I don't care" Mond was even angrier.

"Oh come on, it's a minimally curious situation," said Ami poking Mond with his elbow "Has he ever marked anyone? Or did his alpha die?"

Mond stopped walking at the same instant, all that talk about omega and alpha was already very annoying, including Sonne and a possible partner was even more annoying!

"I already said Ami!" growled him "I have no interest in talking about alphas and omegas and much less that stalker son of a bitch!"

"I was just saying" said Ami pouting "Hey, a little curiosity never killed anyone ..."

"Don't they say curiosity killed the cat? So my friend, you better contain that gossip of yours."

That was Mond's last year in college, the year he was supposed to be worrying about his thesis and the mandatory internship, the year he would decide on his graduate degree and make big decisions about his future, but he spent the entire semester running away from an omega, not that Sonne's actions were really unpleasant,  Mond liked his voice, his smell, the way he put his hair behind his ear and smiled at him whenever he met him, or how he was dancing in the middle of the street when he thought no one was watching, or how he called his name as if he had been singing a song, but the problem was exactly that...

Mond couldn't like Sonne, it hurt too much, he remembered his sun too much and why it was so disturbing to be around him. Sol was his first and only love... Sol was his omega, Sol was the one who was always by his side, always gave him love and affection, and was the one who marked him forever ... So how could Sonne mess with a marked alpha so much?

I just need to survive this semester and never meet him again.

But things weren't that simple, Sonne seemed to be everywhere in college that Mond was going to, at all parties, he even waited for the alpha at the class door to talk to him before class started, at least they didn't have classes together and at those times he could finally breathe.

Mond tried in every way to get rid of that annoyance, tried to deal with his emotions, tried to be rude to Sonne, tried to ignore him, tried to hide, but nothing worked, the redhead infiltrated his social circle and was friends with absolutely everyone around him and to make matters worse everyone loved him, it was all extremely irritating and hopeless. And that's why alpha made a decision, if he was going to have to put up with that situation, at least he'd be himself and be polite to Sonne and that was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

The day before Mond's birthday they were all talking over lunch.

"A big party at Mond's house?" said a lively girl "Let's have a barbecue in the pool? I'll stay on the grill!"

"That's great, that's great. Your barbecue is the best!" said Mond smiling "Ami who is organizing can get everything right with him the food and drink is on me."

"It's going to be amazing we're going to invite everyone from the Administration building, Mond's house is HUGE, I don't know how he can live alone in such a big house" said Ami with his best smile.

"I can help you with the guest list" said one young man.

"Of course, of course."

The planning seemed to go well, even though it was something kind of at the last minute, everyone was very excited, it wasn't every day that Mond was so receptive to people besides it was free food, drink, and pool! The animation was cut with the arrival of Sonne, everyone knew that the birthday boy ran from the omega more than the devil of the cross, so the embarrassing silence settled as soon as the redhead sat at the table in an attempt to avoid an embarrassing situation.

"By one chance you were talking about me" said Sonne in a fun tone "you were so excited and were so quiet all of a sudden."

"No" Ami said quickly "It's just..." but he couldn't come up with an excuse fast enough.

"You know Sonne, we're talking about veterans stuff and..." a young woman began to say but was interrupted by Mond.

"We are planning my birthday" everyone looked perplexed at Mond, Ami came to choke on the water.

"Your birthday?" Sonne was curious.

"Yes, tomorrow at my house a barbecue, swimming pool and drinks on me, show up if you want" said Mond in his indifferent tone.

"Really?" Sonne's face shone, it was the first time Mond was minimally educated with him, excerpt from the day he had taken him to the clinic and this was the first time he had invited him to anything.

"Yes. You can get the details with Ami."

"And I can sing at your party?" said him holding Mond's right hand with both hands.

"Do whatever  you want." said him pulling his hand back.

If Mond had known what was to come, he would never have tried to be friendly with Sonne, he would never have invited him to his birthday and allowed him to do that presentation that triggered the most traumatic day of his life.
