"Son, Please understand how I feel, how much I miss her everyday. I have always loved her and I always thought about her. Every day. I have tried my best not to think about her. I thought about everything other than her. Please understand." His father said.
"I am leaving, I will take her ashes with me. Goodbye, Dad." Gary said and he was ready to go home to take his ashes to Gary's mother.
"Wait, Son. Before you go please give me something, you can take it if you need something." His father pleaded.
"No Dad. It's not enough and I don't think I will use that money anyway, I am sure you are not planning to spend it." Gary replied
"Please Son, I beg you just one thing. Give me one chance. I promise I will do something good. Give me one chance to prove how much I regret what I did." His father said.
"Sorry sir, not gonna do. I'm leaving now." Gary replied with a smile.
His father tried to call him to come back but Gary didn't listen, He left, not looking back, as he thought it was unfair that his father wanted to buy him a present.
A few months had passed since Gary's marriage with Lauren and he couldn't bear living without her, he missed her every minute of every day, when he got home he looked for her everywhere.
In the morning, he looked outside and he called her name, but it was too early, she is not awake yet. In the evening he cooked dinner he cooked her favorite dish, mac n cheese with ham and he put some garlic bread on the table and went to sit on his armchair.
He ate the pasta and he ate her favorite dessert, banana cream pie which Lauren had made once during one of their dates. The pie was delicious and he wished he could share it with her but he wasn't able to see her until the next morning. When she woke up she had woken him up too. And that was when he noticed that Lauren hasn't eaten anything for the last few days and he felt worried about her health. So when she woke up he made breakfast. He made them some coffee and he sat down on the chair by her bed and he held his hand on hers.
"Lauren, are you feeling alright?" Gary asked her in a concerned voice and he leaned over the bed to kiss her cheek softly.
"Yes." Lauren answered.
"Did something happened?" Gary inquired
"No. Everything's okay." Lauren answered as she continued eating her mac n cheese.
"Are you sure, everything is fine?"
"Yes. I am hungry." Lauren said and smiled.
"Okay. Do you need something?"
"Yes, water please." Lauren requested.
"Of course." Gary got up from the chair and left Lauren alone in the bedroom. After he got back he gave her the glass of water.
"Thank you." She thanked him.
She continued eating her mac n cheese while thinking about the past and how much she regretted everything that has transpired. Gary finished eating breakfast and then he cleaned the table. Then he returned to his seat to watch Lauren eat her food. After half an hour, Lauren placed the empty plate on the nightstand and turned to look at her husband who was sitting next to her looking at her.
