"Hey everybody!" Angela stood in front of her friends shortly after getting out of her car. She made sure to walk confidently, making them focus on her huge hazel - colored afro that was the centerpiece of her look. Then, she purposely held her head up high while watching her friends stand in front of her; Kate Bridget, Nea Moore and Charlie Hawkins, gawking at her outfit. Tonight was a special night for Angela because it was her birthday. *Girl, you look cute." One of her friends, Nea, stated. This was followed by similar compliments from the other girls. Something that was on the forefront of Kate, and everyone else's, mind came back after the compliments stopped."You took so long to get here!"
"I know, I know."Angela said with a grin. "I had a fashion emergency."
Her friends smirked with a knowing look.
"All you have on is a crop top and pants, what kinda emergency." Charlie asked, which made the group begin laughing. "You know how I do, whatever." Angela was always late whenever she had to be the center of attention for something. She believed it was a "necessity" to have all eyes on her.
They were getting impatient and wanted to go in the party now. They wanted to party in the disco club that they all agreed to come to tonight, a club that was a popular site for everyone of all ages, a place that they have been to a few times. It was a given that a birthday party would be hosted here. This time, the owner wanted everyone to come in a 70s outfit theme, so that's exactly what they did. "Let's go inside now y'all." Charlie stated, not caring if she was being pushy anymore. Besides, Angela took too long to get here.
"What happened to your boyfriend who was supposed to drive you?" Charlie asked while lagging behind.
"Oh, we broke up." Angela said matter of factly. "That was the last fight and I was tired of it." They both laughed, knowing this was bound to happen.
They all walked inside of the bustling party, where people danced on the disco floor under flashing, colorful lights. The happy energy of the people already made them feel more excited as they watched the dancers bodies moving and heads bouncing up and down. They walked to the table, where all of Angela's friends and gifts were. "Happy birthday!" They all yelled out one by one. Angela excitedly thanked them with a huge smile on her face, after all even if she didn't like the gifts she couldn't say so. The next few minutes consisted of happy birthday singing, cake cutting and more thank yous.
Pretty soon, it was time to dance, I mean of course why go to a disco club if you're not going to dance? So in this inevitable situation the birthday girl was of course the center of attention on the dancefloor. Angela and her friends were surrounded by the sweaty, energetic bodies bumbling below the lights and they seemed to lose track of time as laughter and movements flooded their senses. Time didn't matter anymore. Only the dance moves and the lights that seemed to become parallel with each of their actions. Time. Something that is constant but what's not constant is what happens during the time. So while the disco ball shined from the ceiling, something else shone in the dark hallways. It was the sharp shine of a knife stealing its first victim and being coated in blood. You see it was the person's fault for going to the bathroom, can't you control your bladder? Well…I guess it would be the other…countless…victims faults too, who went from the dancefloor to the bathroom. Then the person who went to smoke a cigarette outside… and from the other people who went to the lounge room. Okay yadda yadda yadda I guess it's hard to blame them now.
The dancefloor was beginning to decrease in size but the party goers attention was focused on the fun they were having. It didn't look like the size of everyone decreased when everyone was pressed against each other. The sound of a body dropping cut into everything and the line of red that followed it. The body dropped right in front of Angela, causing her to scream with everyone that had seen the dead body. Everyone began running, panicking ,in different directions from the dancefloor, scattering like ants from being stepped on. Screams took the place of the music while some people tried to run outside. They didn't get very far because the hoodied murderer chained the doors. One by one, people were getting stabbed until there was hardly anyone.
Angela and her friends had managed to break into one of the lounge rooms. "What the hell is happening?!" Katie cried with a terrified expression on her face. Charlie was just as afraid but didn't know what to do as she looked around the pink room. "We have to get out of here! We have to find a way to get out of the building!" Angela, and Nea were in shock, preferring to frantically look around the room. Everything happened so fast that they couldn't believe where they were, but the sound of someone hitting the door took them back to reality. They screamed when they realized that the hoodied murderer would come inside the room at any moment and slash them all. The only place they could run was through the dark hallway that leads to other lounge rooms. "go, Go, GO!" They screamed when they began running. The sound of the door breaking open shook the walls. All they could see was darkness to the point where they all couldn't tell where they were going. The only indication was the broken ceiling light that flashed on and off, so that contributed to them splitting up and trying to survive however they could. The first person to die was Katie, who got stabbed through the heart just as she ran into one of the rooms. The next one was Charlie who fell on a table and hit her head, and the next one was Nea, who died from being stabbed in the back. All that was left was Angela who ran to the farthest room.
She locked the door in a breathless state and sat down on the floor, exhausted. Her heart was beating hard and felt like it would come out of her chest. She sat there, knowing that her friends were probably already dead, and that there was nothing she could do about it. She still wanted to fight but didn't know if she could. The sound of the door bursting open made her jump and scream. "AAAAHHHH!!" She held her arm up to cover her face. After a few seconds the realization that the hoodied man was just standing there looking at her chilled her bones. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!" She yelled through tears. If he was going to kill her she wanted him to get it over with.
"Angela! I'm - I'm sorry…I…but -"
"What?" She couldn't understand him through his jumbled words.
"I'm - I had to do this." He slipped off his mask and revealed the familiar face of…her father?
"DAD?!"
"I'm sorry sweetheart, I had to do this. I didn't want to see you grow up. You're twenty one and I don't want you to drink and get into trouble."
Angela was In complete shock. Innocent people were dead all because of her father not wanting her to grow up still? The overprotective father she didn't think would go this far, or any father for that matter.
"DAAAAAADDDD!!!!" All she could do was scream and faint.
