Silence filled the room as the heart monitor came to a solid beep, and my mother's life slipped away before my father's eyes

The nurses carried her out as the other nurse asked-

" Mr. Ren? What would you like to name the child and future heiress? " The Nurse asked, timidly

" A-Aurora...Name her Aurora. Her mother's name was Dawn, So it's only appropriate to have her legacy live on" My father had responded

That was the day of my birth and the end of my mother's life

I still regret that day and it was me instead of her, and it pains me to think of it

June 6th, 2010

My father had remarried a man named Carter whom he had met about a year prior through some special events. Queer marriage was very common in Laverne Cove and hasn't been frowned upon in many years. They were lucky that those rules were in place.

He remarried in hopes to help me cope with the fact that I was the reason for the death of my mother, which failed, miserably. I admire my father's confidence though

With my father remarried, things were looking up for him, the kingdom, and me until the news broke out that my mother was a siren with a discolored skin tone, which was a genetic disorder, and the public was furious! they demanded that I shouldn't be the heiress and that I should even be killed! My fathers told the townspeople that it was discriminatory and that they were being dramatic, and this started a war between sirens and mermaids, with sirens being abused, hunted, discriminated against, and even killed and shot in public. Crimes rates went up and the siren population was terrified. My dad, the king, and monarch, put in rules and started demanding to mermaids who were committing said heinous acts be arrested.

September 5th, 2012

My first day of school. I was pretty anxious but I had to get it over with. On the playground people were just teasing me, pulling my hair, pushing me, and picking on me. Not because I was new, but because I was a siren. It was an all-mermaid school, with some sirens. Suddenly, A shadow is cast over my head, after being pushed into a hedge of seaweed. I cower in fear. The mystery figure starts screaming toward the people that pushed me and walks in front of me. She's a shark girl! She helps me up and we start playing in the park, so when we go back to class, I'm not getting picked on anymore. That was the best moment of my life and 10 years later, she's still sticking up for me.

July 30th, 2022

I and my fathers had gone out to a restaurant to celebrate my late mother's birthday and ordered her favorite dish when I went to go to the washroom to fix my sarong a top when suddenly when I swam up...BANG!!!

A bullet landed on the wall, inches away from my face. I stood there, mortified, and looked back seeing a patron with a gun being arrested and kicked out. They tried to kill me and from that day forward, I was by bodyguards or in the heavily locked castle at all times

August 30th, 2022

On that day, I met Melanie, A crystal from another Planet who crash-landed on one of the islands Riley owned. I was weary and scarred because of the prior incident but my fathers let her in. Something about her was so...Mesmerising. The way her hair folded by her ears, her contagious laugh, and don't get me started on her...Wait a second.

Melanie was invited to stay the night and then my fathers would find somewhere for her to stay. She ate dinner with us at the table and was so cheery that I didn't even notice that she was a random stranger staying in our castle! But I let it slide.

Later that evening, riots erupted and the castle was stormed. I rushed into my room hiding in my closet. It was horrifying. I heard a knock on the door and stayed as quiet as possible. The door opened and I was about to teleport out of Laverne Cove and to Earth when I hear Melanie grunt and slam against the wall and hear someone swimming toward me.
