The bus arrived a few moments later and a bus ticket hovered beside her face. Frustratedly, she took it and stepped onto the bus, she heard him chuckling behind her.
As Selena turned to take a seat, she saw Rowan with a big grin standing on the sidewalk. He noticed her looking and waved. The doors closed and she waved to him using her middle finger.
Selena chose one of the seats at the back that faced each other. Buses were no joy ride. We went over a bump of some kind and her head slammed against the glass. Aggravated and tired her eyelids flew open. It would be a while until she got off of the bus, and she noticed not many people were on board. Selena guessed people didn't like being rattled around like a doll by a two-year-old. She began to daydream and lose consciousness.
~ Still on the bus ~
As soon as she awoke, Selena checked her watch and then tore through her stuff. Her compass and a rolled-up dirty sock flew out.
The guy nearest her looked over his shoulder at the scene for a fleeting moment before going back to his intriguing window.
A blush brushed her cheeks as Selena quickly reached to snatch them back. She managed to get the sock, but the compass had slid out of reach, and to her chagrin, towards the window guy.
By the time it had reached his foot she had managed to think up a million apologies and embarrassed expressions.
As he tossed it back in her lap without making eye contact, Selena didn't need to say anything but," Thanks."
Boredom set in and she thought about how she should find this relaxing. Not every day would be so easy.
