Dear Carlson,
I almost can’t remember your face nowadays. That’s funny considering I thought you’d be etched into my memory. Even though you sat in front of me in school, I saw more of your face than the back of your head. I thought I’d never forget your smile or your laugh, but it’s a dull murmur in the back of my head—all muffled like a radio.
My bad about the sentiments, Carl. I’ve just been doing a lot of thinking lately, but I won’t bring you down with that. What’s something less sad…
Oh! I’d like you to meet my friend Adrian. Of course, you may have already met him since we all played ball together back when we were kids. Although, I’m not sure the two of you would’ve known each other very intimately. Adrian’s pretty quiet in front of other people.
Anyway, maybe the three of us can grab a drink sometime. I think that’d be nice.
Best,
Bryce
