Chapter 3B;

In this chapter, we take the perspective of someone who isn't the protagonist. Yumi. 

Even though I'm excited about this tournament and to find my ranking… I don't want to die… Ever since she was born, my body has essentially given out on its power. It feels useless to go into any battle, and with how much energy I've spent these past couple of days, it's clear I can't do anything. 

If I am to partake, I'll simply die within the first round. I'll become a disappointment to everyone watching and everyone in my family. That's why I took up singing again when I first became pregnant, it was out of pure fear that others would hate me completely for becoming useless.  And I can't be useless, otherwise, I'd be killed.  So, I have to become the inspiration for everyone here even if they don't know my situation.

What matters most to me is if I can survive… I just hope I can do that… Only if just for a little longer and see her smile. That's all I want to happen.

And somehow, lost in my thoughts… I ended up back here, in this wooden cabin I call home.  Staring over a crib, with someone who has pure white hair just like my own. She on the other hand hadn't had enough time to grow any hair. It was practically just fuzz on a peach on her. This is why I need ro live, for her and her future. Not just my future now. 

I headed towards my bed and laid down… I then looked towards my side, looking at her birth certificate. One with a handprint that was made by her hand put into pink ink then onto there. That was how things were done in this country.  Unfortunately, my mother had lost mine. But it wasn't her fault, not at all. It was my father's fault.

When I first met Hisam… Father hated him, completely. I remember it completely, without a doubt what happened.

"Yumi… How dare you bring in a former noble here?! You… You!" My father had charged at me with complete anger. 

"Yumi! Watch out!" Hisam said, as he grabbed onto my shoulder and tossed me out of the way. "If you're mad at me, then attack me, not her you bastard!" He said as he was smacked down to the floor his white hair flowing as he did. Punched straight in the face leaving him with a bloody nose.

But, I saw him still get up and he began to talk again… "It's pointless, I won't let you harm her. She's the one I love. No matter what, even I have to die. I'll be the one to protect her!" He said as he crossed his arms getting ready to bear any attack. 

"Fine! If you want to die so badly! So be it!" As I watched in complete shock, tears flowed down my eyes… Father had punched the glass container as a note flew out. He then picked up a shard. And charged towards Hisam. "Time for you to die, you noble bastard!!" He said as he attempted to slice open his face before being met with a knee to the groin knocking him out. 

That's what happened. It saddens me to know that my father would react that way. However, I know that if my little one finds someone to love, I refuse to interact that way at all.

I was about to fall asleep before I heard a knock on my door. And with this, it had also woken up the little one with a crying fit. I decided to pick her up before heading to the door.

"Hmm? What's that noise?" Lex asked from outside of the door waiting for someone to open it. 

"Sorry! I'll be right there! It's just I have a crying baby!" I had yelled out of pure nervousness and had begun to laugh to calm down my nerves. 

I had opened up the door still laughing. As Lex approached me with a smile. "Here, let me take them for a second," Lex said as I handed her there.  

He had then proceeded to take a breath before breathing on her face, it had caught us both by surprise. But, it was almost as if her brain had completely turned around… Once the surprise ended, she was smiling at Lex reaching out to him.

"What… What just happened?" I asked somewhat confused, not understanding the situation at all. I've never seen any baby turn around moods so quickly.

"Well, you see, when you breathe on them during cases like a temper tantrum, it forces their body to breathe and think," Lex explained with a smile. "But I also think it's a case of that she just likes me," Lex said with a slight laugh.
