Secrets of the Arcane: Julien's Awakening

Requiem War

Requiem War

Aug 14, 2022

The following day.

Vel'Krim is seated and sipping a newly brewed tea, he watches Julien from behind. He's savoring the aroma that reminds him of his youth. "Hmm... Yesterday's smell made me nostalgic; the greatest tea is Old Man Cang; it soothes the soul and calms the heart."

"Vel, I got a message from Dukeheart, and he'll be joining us in two days. How should we explain Julien? He knows you're not the kind to take someone under your wing," Sil said while snacking on chewy brownies.

When he heard the name Dukeheart, he got startled out of his reverie.

"The Advent of Saints," he sighed, and Vel'Krim began to speak. "These folks appear to be a group of wonderful men on the outside, but they are rotten on the inside. The arrival of saints should be the arrival of rubbish. Those bastards are simply milking my kindness; they are a bunch of lunatics, and worst of all, they are sending that crafty apprentice of his."

"We don't have much of a choice. Who would have anticipated that their leader Ashmond would obtain the Star Field codex out of all the people who could have it? "His luck is extraordinary, and he blames your bad luck," Sil smirked.

"I'll just need to give you this Frozen Fire Core and I'm done with the bargain," Vel'Krim snarled.

"Yes, and they have the right to do anything nasty or injure you after the agreement is done; it's as if you gave them a dagger to use against you."

"Damn, this is bothering me," Vel'Krim moans, rubbing his temples as his headache worsens.

"Is there any way to keep that youngster without him noticing?" he questioned, massaging his temples. ”

Sil shakes his head incredulously, "You should know by now that our mana signature will link to Julien, therefore there is no way we can keep him out of his sight." Then, he continued, "Soul scan will without a doubt accomplish the duty of detecting any outside presence and, as we already have contact with Julien, our mana signature would link to him."

I guess we can simply act like he's a buddy's apprentice, and we're just helping your friend teach him, he continued.

"Hmmm... That could work.

Now that Julien's presence has been resolved, Vel'Krim said, "I must prepare for Dukeheart. That guy is not easy to deal with, and he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. A mere 3rd Anointed battling the Follower Of the Path is recognized as a genius."

"Yeah, [Heart Set] practitioners are a tough opponent, and trust me Vel, you may be harmed when you get hasty. Deal with him with caution. He pauses for a moment, "With a special weapon in hand, he is a monster." Sil spoke while disintegrating in the air and his words resonated — he was no longer visible in the room.

Julien remained in his room while awaiting Vel'Krim's orders. His room is 30 meters wide, and all of the amenities are crammed into that area.

He was sitting on the sofa, watching TV and eating when he received a telepathic message.

"Kid, come on in, let's start exercising your body and spirit."

Julien, who had been anticipating this, sprang to his feet and joined Vel'Krim in the training room.

In the training room.

Julien who is wearing a  yellow tracksuit and  standing in front of the mirror doing awkward stretching. To avoid suspicion I will follow his training method and I will incorporate my techniques with it. He thought

Sil is the most I should be wary about. Vel'Krim said that he is a consciousness created by his soul. I'm quite confused by it because according to my memories splitting your soul and creating an entirely new persona is impossible.

It feels like Sil is like a walking database that Vel'Krim can access anytime. He can also take forms that are crazy. This duo is crazy and now I'm half crazy because of them. Julien sneered inside.

Vel'Krim who was looking at him laughed and said "You look like a duck, Kid. Let's go and start your training. They walk into the room where the training facilities are located.

Everything you need for a top-notch exercise is available in the training room. A selection of weight benches and dumbbells are available in the area, which also has lit mirrors and air conditioning. Regardless of your ability level, you can work out.

A big wooden board that splits the room in half also has a list of metrics for body temperature, pulse, and blood pressure inscribed on the opposite side. A large, square window with a transparent, square lens is located above the board.

Julien started to be in amazement at the surroundings as he was facing Vel'Krim while standing firmly. Vel ignored Julien's expression of awe as he began his first lesson.

"We will begin your training with conditioning your body; remember, your body is the home of your soul, and for your soul to become stronger, it requires a solid foundation, therefore we must first establish a strong foundation."

"Generally, training your body will take some time in normal circumstances," he says, "but we will be adopting a technique that will allow us to minimize your body training."

Many Arcane experts died as a result of the Requiem War. In today's world, those experts who died are revered as gods. Some are still alive, but their whereabouts are unclear.

So, basically, many techniques and technologies have gone off, and there has been a significant retreat in Arcane. Power is unbalanced. Someone or a group has grown so powerful that now they control a large number of territories. The balance is tilted on one side.

Julien nodded and asked a question, "Master, when did this Requiem War happen?

   "18,000 years ago" Vel'Krim answered.

I used my Rebirth Arcane 20000 years ago. Meaning that war happens 200 years after I die. Julien thought.
