Three weeks later…
Aaron sat on his roof as the end of the day was approaching and the sky was turning to its purple-blue-ish hue, the teen was relaxing and just staring up as he thought back.
Flashback…
"You're angry, why?" Asked Jasmine, she was honestly confused, he was fine until he underwent the ritual.
Aaron inhaled, the question angered him, much more than he cared to admit. "You want to know why I am like this?!" Asked Aaron as he adopted a furious expression.
"THREE DAYS AGO MY LIFE WAS NORMAL! THEN I NEARLY BECOME DEMON FOOD, THEN MY WHOLE WORLD IS FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN WITHOUT WARNING AND YOU ALL EXPECT ME TO JUST ROLL WITH IT, AFTER THAT I FIND OUT THE GIRL I LOVE IS ENGAGED TO SOMEONE I CAN NEVER STACK UP AGAINST! YOU WANNA KNOW WHY I AM ANGRY!? I AM ANGRY BECAUSE I AM USELESS!" Aaron yelled angrily, Jasmine flinched at the force in his words, he honestly couldn't care if they all could hear him, he had enough of his situation.
"I CONFESS HOW I FEEL AND GET SHOT DOWN LIKE A SICK ANIMAL THAT SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF ITS MISERY! I GO THROUGH THE MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE TO DULL OUT THE PAIN I FELT FOR HER AND YOU KNOW WHAT IT WORKED! I PROBABLY SOUND PATHETIC BUT I COULD CARE LESS, WHY WOULD YOU ALL CARE ABOUT A LOWLY HUMAN'S DESPAIR! I FEEL LIKE I AM AT THE EDGE OF MY SANITY, I MEAN FOR ALL I KNOW I AM INSANE!!!" He yelled, Jasmine flinched under his words, she had no idea he hurt this much.
The rest of his friends came to his room door, they could all hear him. "Aaron…" Said Adam as he tried to approach Aaron.
"It's okay to feel this way." Continued Dean, Aaron in his rage noticed that Michelle was not even among them, she didn't even care how he felt and that stung him.
"GET OUT!" Yelled Aaron as they all flinched, he gave them a look.
Brianne wanted to say something until she saw the tears flowing down his cheeks.
"I SAID GET OUT OF MY HOME!!!" Yelled Aaron as he eyed them all.
Flashback end…
'I still don't know what happened. But I have been feeling a lot better emotionally lately. My situation on the other hand is still confusing.' Aaron thought as he sat up. 'Thinking about it is going to give me a headache.' He jumped off the side of his roof and landed on his feet. 'I will never get used to that' Aaron thought as he yelled.
"Mom! I am going for a walk!" He waited for a response until he heard her respond.
"Don't be back late!" He started walking and he couldn't get it off his mind that he hasn't spoken to either of them since the argument, he avoided them as best he could at school, but he could tell Adam still shadowed him somewhat.
He walked around his neighborhood and he sighed at the end, this walk had done nothing for him but maybe confused him more.
'I need to talk to them…I should apologize…I really should say sorry to Jas…' He continued his stride but stopped nearly instantly when he saw a moving truck drive up and stop directly in front of the house next to his, curiosity got the better of him and he walked up to the truck and looked to the house, to his surprise there seemed to be new people living there.
'How did I not even notice new people are living next door?' Wondered Aaron before remembering his recent new lifestyle. 'Oh right,' Aaron thought sarcastically as he stood on the sidewalk and watched the moving people knock on the front door, he saw a middle-aged man open the door a brief look of confusion on his face until a look of recognition passed, and immediately he started conversing with the man, soon his wife came out and they signed some paperwork and then they started moving the boxes.
'Well, I guess I have nothing better to do,' Thought Aaron as he walked to the middle-aged man until he saw the man pick up a big box on his own. 'Hold on…' Thought Aaron, a brief period of recollection passed. 'Oh right…there are supernatural creatures that exist with super strength.' He contemplated just turning around and leaving, he had enough super creatures in his life.
"Come on dear, that box has virtually nothing in it, leave it to me, you go and help them pick up the heavier stuff." As the man gave a hearty laugh before responding. "I guess you're right." As he handed her the big box and she carried it in with ease. Aaron stopped.
'Would you look at that?' He thought as he smiled. 'Finally, some normal people.' Suddenly feeling motivated to help them, he walked up to the man and greeted him with a smile, one he hasn't had for a while, who knew normal would have felt so…amazing.
"Hello, sir." Greeted Aaron as he extended his hand for the man to shake which he did. "I am your neighbor and I just couldn't help but notice that you moved in." Said Aaron as he shook his hand.
"Hello, ah yes my wife and I moved in last week, I am assuming you must have been busy if you didn't notice." Said the man. Aaron nodded and immediately picked up on the English accent "Yes I was…quite busy." Said Aaron as he looked at the truck. "I was just wondering if you needed an extra hand at moving the stuff into your new home?" Offered Aaron. The man looked at Aaron as if musing over whether or not he should let Aaron help.
"Yes, that would be appreciated." Said the man as Aaron turned and walked towards the truck and picked up two boxes and walked towards the man.
"Sir, where do I put these?" Aaron asked, the man raised an eyebrow at the boxes Aaron seemed to be carrying and smiled. "You can call me Mr. Tailor and you can put those boxes in the first room to the left." Said Mr. Tailor, Aaron nodded and turned to leave. "You must be quite strong to pick up those boxes on your own." Aaron looked at the boxes in confusion. 'They aren't that heavy…' Until realization dawned on him. 'Oh, right the ritual made me stronger.' Thought Aaron as he froze a cold shiver going down his spine, a bead of sweat ran down the side of his face, he turned.
"No, it's quite heavy." Said Aaron. "I just gym now and then." Said Aaron as the man seemed to accept his explanation, he turned and continued walking. 'I can't believe I am the freak now.' Thought Aaron as he entered the house and turned to the left and entered the massive lounge and placed the boxes down immediately hearing a feminine voice.
"Mom!! I can't find some of my clothes" Said the voice as the woman came out from the kitchen and saw Aaron. She was an African-American brunette with brown eyes, she wore sweatpants with a blue top, her hair was tied into a ponytail.
"Hello, who might you be?" Asked the women as Aaron responded. "I am Aaron, Aaron Black, I live next door, I am just helping Mr. Tailor move all the boxes, I am your new neighbor." Said Aaron as he smiled at her, she smiled back. "Well, we appreciate the help." Said the woman as a frustrated voice came down the stairs.
"Mom, I said I can't find my clothes." Said the voice as the face of the voice came into view, it was a girl that was around his age, she had curly light brown hair and green eyes with sharp features when she saw him she stopped yelling and greeted him.
"O-oh hi." She stuttered, clearly not expecting someone in the house, someone her age no less, her face felt hot when she realized that she was yelling while there was a guest in their house, luckily for her a teen with unruly hair walked past her from behind and just walked out the front door.
Aaron could have sworn he heard the boy say. 'Smooth…' He shrugged.
"Ok, Bell let's go outside and find your clothes then." Said the woman as Aaron gave her a small smile and a wave as she walked with her mother out and Aaron followed.
As soon as Aaron came outside again he picked up another box but first made sure it was light before recklessly lifting it.
The sun was gone and the night sky was above them, the outdoor lights were now on as he helped them, he learned many things about them, things like they just moved here a couple of days ago, they are from the UK originally American and that they were genuinely kind people which he happily accepted, they were normal and he felt comfortable around them, he got along well with the girl's brother, Leo, for a moment he wished he never had met his friends and just met Leo in their stead.
The time went by and it was nearing eight. "Goodbye, Mr. Tailor." Said Aaron as he gave him a light handshake and turned to Leo and also gave him a handshake. "It was nice meeting you all." Said Aaron as he waved to the family and smiled as he left and headed home with a smile on his face.
When he crossed over to his lawn he walked to the front door and entered, entering the house he was greeted with the smell of dinner, he walked to the dining room to find his mother and father eating.
"Did you guys know that we have new neighbors?" Asked Aaron as he walked to the kitchen to dish for himself and pour himself a glass of juice.
"We have new neighbors?" Asked his mother with a look of surprise on her face. "Yes, they moved in a couple of days ago, I was helping them move some of their furniture and boxes in." Said Aaron as he started to eat.
"Well, that's nice." Said his father. "Considering you complain when we tell you to clean your room." His dad pointed out as Aaron looked at him with a somewhat sheepish look on his face.
"Well, I was just trying to be nice." Said Aaron, his father smiled. "Well, there is nothing wrong with that."
Aaron said nothing and continued eating.
"How are they?" His mother asked.
"They are nice people, originally American but lived in the UK for a long time; they have a daughter and a son around my age." Said Aaron with a shrug.
His mother nodded. "I guess I'll have to say hello tomorrow."
She stood up and walked to the kitchen to clean the plates, his father followed suit.
Aaron sat quietly thinking. 'Some normality in my life at least.' He continued eating, a couple of minutes passed and he was done eating, so he walked to the kitchen and left his plate in the sink, and went to his room and settled for a shower, when he was done he brushed his teeth and went to sleep.
When he opened his eyes, he sat up and looked at his alarm clock and noticed he woke up a whole hour earlier than his intended time. 'Woah…I wonder what got me up so early?' Thought Aaron as he got out of his bed and got ready for school.
About three hours later Aaron walked out of his house to see Leo and his sister about to start walking with a bag on their shoulders. "Hey, Leo!" Called Aaron and watched as Leo and his sister turned and looked at him.
"Yes?" Asked the teen, his brown-ish/blond hair unruly as usual, although his sister had her hair going all the way down and had a blue top and black jeans on with some sneakers.
"Where are you guys going?" Asked Aaron.
"We are on our way to our new school" Answered Leo with a shrug.
Aaron nodded. "But isn't it kind of early for you guys to be going to school yet?" Asked Aaron, they had just arrived a couple of days ago.
"Try telling that to my parents." Said Leo with a sigh. "We have no choice."
Aaron smiled. "That sucks, what's your new school called?" Asked Aaron, he was curious, maybe they are coming to his school or the secondary school in Soft Edge City.
"We are going to….ahhh….?" Wondered Leo, he had already forgotten the school's name.
"We are going to a school called Soft Edge High." Said Bell with a frustrated sigh. "You are such an airhead." As Leo pouted.
"Why? Wanna walk with us?" Asked Leo.
"Walk? Nah that's the same school I go to." Said Aaron as he took out his car keys and pressed a button, and waited for the garage to open. "You guys want a lift?" Asked Aaron.
"No it's fine, we wouldn't want to burden your parents." Said Leo as his sister nodded at the answer.
"Who said anything about my parents," Said Aaron, Leo and Bell looked at each other before Leo spoke. "Well, that makes life easier." Said Leo, he nodded. "Yes…a lift would be appreciated!"
Aaron chuckled at Leo's comment as he entered his garage and started his car's engine unknowingly giving both Leo and Bell a fright.
Aaron reversed out his car and Leo looked at the car with wide eyes. "Why don't my parents love me that much? You have a Dodge Challenger SRT 392!?" Asked Leo dryly, Aaron just laughed.
"Hop in." Said Aaron, he watched Leo call out shotgun, Bell rolled her eyes at her immature brother before getting in the back.
"So you have your own car…nice," Said Leo as Aaron nodded. "And she is so fine too!"
"Yep this is my baby, she takes me from A to B, and C." Said Aaron as Bell chuckled.
"Whatever happened to walking?" Asked Bell, Aaron smirked. "Lost it when I got this beast." Aaron revved the engine for good measure and drove off.
"Sounds like a monster." Said Leo as Aaron grinned. "It is!" Leo grinned at the happy expression on Aaron's face.
Again he commented. "Why don't my parents love me?" Asked Leo, Aaron chuckled. "Probably because they have two children, I am an only child," Said Aaron as Leo glared at Bell.
He glanced at Aaron. "Think I can get a car if she mysteriously disappears?" Asked Leo as Aaron chuckled.
"I doubt it." Said Aaron as Bell smacked Leo on the head resulting in a pained grunt from Leo who then chuckled.
"I am kidding Bell." Said Leo as she smirked.
"You better!" She bit back, Aaron looked at the two and smiled, he quickly looked back to the road, his mind wandered to school as he looked out the car window at the passing residents.
"I hate being the new kid, everyone always busy watching you, bullies trying to make life as hard as possible." Said Leo glumly. "I can't wait to finish school."
"And we have arrived" Said Aaron just as the school came into view.
"It's cleaner than our last school I'll give it that" Said Bell as Aaron glanced back. "Wow, wonder what that looked like if this is supposed to be clean."
"Trust me, it was garbage compared to what you're seeing." Said Leo as Aaron whistled lowly.
"Ya, it might not have been the best place but education is education, I guess." Said Bell.
Aaron smiled. "Well, at least it was appreciated." He pulled up to the parking lot, Aaron vigilantly looked for a parking spot so he could park his car before Bell pointed towards open parking. "There's a spot." Said Bell, Aaron nodded at the comment.
"Thanks." He drove up to it and parked, Aaron turned off the engine as Leo spoke.
"So Aaron have any friends?" Asked Leo.
"Ye-"Said Aaron but stopped himself, should he tell Leo and Bell about his friends, wouldn't he be doing them a favor by not introducing them to each other? He took a couple of seconds to think it through. 'I mean if I could just go back to the time I didn't know, I would, so why put them in danger by introducing them to their potential death?' Thought Aaron as he realized there was a hand waving back and forward in front of his face.
"Aaron!" Called Leo.
"Sorry." Apologized Aaron as he gave an awkward smile.
"Stop that." Said Bell as she chuckled. "That smile is kind of creepy."
